The Alley Cat Fender Set features a cool matte black finish and blacked out profile hardware. Because of the underground color/finish, SKS has coined this product the "Alley Cat" and each fender includes a reflective alley cat sticker that can be applied to the fender or bike. The Alley Cat comes equipped with front and rear mudflaps and offers extended splash coverage to keep the rider dry. SKS fenders come with stainless stays, clips and offer a 5-year warranty.

SKS Bluemels Matt - B45 for 700 x 28-38, July 4, 2011

On the SKS site these fenders (mudguards) are called Bluemels Matt, [...]. They fit my Schwinn Midmoor Men's Hybrid Bike (700c Wheels) 700x38 wheels with room to spare. I did end up using a spacer on the front guards brake bridge mount.

Did not fit, instructions poor, December 21, 2011

Beware!
I bought these for a Giant Cypress ST (700x38c hybrid) with mostly stock components. They didn't have the proper mounting hardware for my bike. The front fender installation was fine and had all of the necessary components. The back fenders were a nightmare.
Short of going into gory detail I did manage to hack together a mount no thanks to the included instructions or mounting materials included. It was a hack job and I'm not happy with it but it will work for me. The included instructions are a joke. They pictured a frame with mounting holes that I didn't have and looked nothing like mine. They instructions even showed a picture of a piece of hardware that wasn't even included and also showed holes in the fenders where there were none. Altogether the instructions were a joke and barely helpful. My bicycle has mounts for fenders and a rack, but not for these fenders.
My worst nightmare when ordering these fenders sight unseen or any fenders was that they wouldn't fit or be able to be mounted to my bike. Without any warning of what kind of frame you need or a description of the mounts you need, I would not buy these. The best advice I can give and which I will practice in the future is don't buy these or any other fenders sight unseen from the internet. Since these caused me hours of grief today and fulfilled my worst nightmare about them, they can only get one star. BEWARE! Don't make the same mistake I did. In the future I will probably either buy them from a local shop or look up the ones I see from a local shop and only buy those.
They do have some good points. They're wide enough for my 700x38c tires. They look good and seem to be made of a sturdy material but since I just installed them I can't comment on their longevity.

Oddly engineered, your mileage may vary., January 31, 2012

Lets start positive: These really are full coverage fenders. This can also be turned into a minus if you have a compact frame where your toes may overlap with the fenders while the bicycle is turned. This has tripped me up more than once at a stop sign with my Specialized Tricross.
The minuses start as soon as the package arrives - when you are trying to make heads or tails of the bizarre installation instructions. I'm not the fastest draw, so I was so befuddled oh on the front fork install that I let the fenders sit for a month before installing. It wasn't until I got a longer bolt from a front rack kit that I was able to make it work. Including a longer bolt with these fenders would have been a pro move.
At first, some dexterity is required in order to balance the attachment poles, nuts, and bolts in your hand at the same time. The minuses keep on coming as soon as you take the bike on a bad road for a few miles, and find yourself on the other end with all of the nuts lost. Do not rely on hand tightening these nuts to keep them on! Torque them down and use locktite. If you are truly unlucky, then the custom bolts will fly off as well, leaving you wondering why you bought this in the first place.
If you are expecting to take these fenders off when the weather is nice, stop now. On my particular bike, they would take 15-20 minutes to remove, and 20-30 minutes to install. These fenders are meant to stay for life.
Anyways, I'm going to throw these away and buy something with less coverage and an easier installation. These fenders would be great on a longer framed touring bike, so long as you are diligent about installing it properly.
