Don't waste your money on the EW-450!!! Poorly made & no support for bad product. Although the bikes look great they can only be used as big doorstops. Two months later, we have two non-functioning bikes. So this product doesn't rate any stars-but you have to put a star in to get the review in.
We purchased 2 ew450 electric folding bikes directly from electricwheelstore.com in Aug 2011. We were leary about buying electric bikes online but did only after being assured by the seller that they opened all the bike boxes and checked all the bikes to make sure they were in good working order. We were told that the only thing we had to do was assemble the front wheel. That sounded reasonable and easy.
Well,obviously electricwheelstore.com don't check their products.
Both bikes we received had multiple severe manufacturers defects- poorly placed fork welds (torqued so there is no way to get the wheel on), rear wheels so out of true they can't turn (rear wheel has all the electrics connected to it so electrics must be disconnected somehow to true the wheel), kickstands out of alignment or broken, cheaplights that fall apart..etc. We sent pix of the problems and spoke at length to the seller.
Ewheels told us to take them to a bike repair shop and then call em to get ewheels' credit card # to pay for the fixes. We even confirmed all calls with emails to them. When ewheels was still answering our calls, EWheels shipped a replacement fork and other parts taken from returned bikes. The replacement parts didn't fit the bikes we purchased (you would think they would have measured the parts). We only found the parts were wrong after we'd taken them to the shop.
Then both we and the shop left multiple messages for our Ewheels contact. We never got any calls back nor emails back directly to our email addresses. We even used their support email site. That site has a problematic & cumbersome email support system, so if you attempt to email them, you have to enter passwords etc., use a ticket number & long story short, it was impossible to find out what's happening.
FYI other issues with the bikes: there are clampes and spring pins which must be pressed to release the foldable parts. In order to release the pins you have to carry a key or stick to push into the hole in order to press the pin. The front section flops around when it is folded --you have to bungee it to hold it together to the rest of the bike.

I ride my folding bike to school every day. It is great, I just fold it and carry it to class. I also store the bike in my dorm room. It takes no space and I keep it in my closet.

I have owned a number of electric bikes, for the money this bike is perfect. It is my bike of choice, I keep it on my boat and when I dock my boat the bike is used for drivng into town for food etc. I am likely going to purchase a second ewheels bike.

THIS IS A VERY NICE FOLDING BIKE, I OWN TWO OF THEM. WE RIDE IT THROUGH THE PARK ON WEEKENDS, JUST RECENTLY WE PUT THE BIKES ON THE SUBWAY, THEY WERE EASY TO FOLD AND CARRY. IN THE EVENING WE USE THE ELECTRIC LIGHT AND WE FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE RIDING AT DARK. THE FENDERS HAVE ALSO COME IN HANDY WHEN IT RAINS, THE LUGGAGE RACK HAS ALSO PROVEN TO BE VERY USEFUL.
THE EWHEELS SERVICE STAFF HAVE BEEN VERY RESPONSIVE. THANKS EWHEELS

THIS FOLDING BIKE HAS BEEN A PLEASURE, IT IS EASY TO RIDE AND FOLD. THE BIKE IS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND FITS EASILY IN MY TRUNK.
I ALSO TRAVEL IN A RV AND I TAKE IT ON ALL OF MY TRAVELS.
EWHEELS SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS ALSO BEEN NICE TO WORK WITH

This folding bike rocks! I commute from my home to the subway daily. This bike works great, its light, easy to fold and the headlight is great for night driving.
The luggage rack is handy for the daily commute. The battery is easy to remove, I actually carry the battery to my office where I charge it daily.
The EWheels service staff has been great to work with, they shipped me parts the next day fedex. THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this bike, although it is slightly different than the picture advertising it. An ewheels rep called me to make sure I still wanted it after telling me that it's only in silver and there isn't a suspension fork anymore, but the battery is better and there's a light in the back of the rack now (love that). I agreed to continue my order and couldn't wait till it came. It arrived on time, but unfortunately the very cheap headlight broke during the shipment. I didn't like it anyway. It's also different than how it looks in the pic. I found a battery operated bullet shaped headlight online to replace it and it works great! Also, being that they changed the suspension fork, it's a little tricky getting the front fender screwed on to the wheel. There are revised instructions for that. If not, call them and they'll walk you thru it. I figured it out on my own, I'm sure anyone can. Aside from that, I am ecstatic with my bike! It rides like a dream and tucks away neatly when stored.
