Exceeded Performance Expectations, January 13, 2012
By Crunchworm (Greensboro, NC USA)

When I first got these gloves I was concerned that they may have been too light to deliver insulation performance and padding comfort. I was wrong. The construction, material selection and design delivers a glove that provides protection against 40 degree temperature with wind chill. It also offers the right mix and placement of gel padding that does not compromise comfort. I have worn other brands but these gloves are the best value for the money.

Great gloves and smartphone screens work with it, September 27, 2011
By H. Park

Just got these gloves to replace an older set of Pearl Izumi gloves. The fit remains the same from my 5 year old gloves to this one. The hook and closure system is nice.
The little white tips on the fingertips I've found let me actually use my Droid smartphone without taking off my gloves. That's pretty handy.
The gel vents are very airy. I haven't found my hands getting very sweaty. The leather provides good protection from most scrapes and tree swipes. I do like the sweat pad they put on the back of the thumb. It does work to wipe off my sweaty face. I need it.

Nice Mountain Bike Gloves, July 28, 2011
By osquro (Colombia, South America)

I was looking for a comfortable gloves for bike commuting.
I used generic ones, Fox Reflex Gel, and Fox Digit before.
This gloves are similar to Fox Reflex Gel.
This gloves are quite cool, but despite the holes in gel pads, don't feel as cool in the palm as Fox Reflex Gel gloves.
The thumb didn't fit well (a little big) but are comfortable. I like the closure system.
In general, this gloves seems to be more durable and well manufactured than my old Fox Reflex Gel.
I'm not dissapointed and I will buy other Pearl Izumi models in the future.

Nice Mountain Bike Gloves, July 25, 2011
By Moataz Eldib (Winterville, NC USA)

I have always preferred the fit and comfort of Pearl Izumi mountain bike gloves and these do not dissappoint. Fit is comfortable. On a long ride in the summer my hands do get hot but then again these are full finger gloves that offers great protection for your hands.
Compared to the previous Elite Gel Vent are that the gel is now black in color instead of red. It is held behind a see through mesh and to me the red made me feel a bit queasy. Also instead of being a slip on like the old glove there is a small hook and loop closure on the wrist. I would prefer the slip on elastic wrist instead of that hook and loop closure.
All in all these are a great product and will not dissappoint.

My fave, May 7, 2012
By Dakota Nixon (McLean, VA United States)

This is my second pair. The first pair I bought is still fine after two years, but some even older, different model PIs wore out and I like to have two sets. These see use several times a week for extended periods, and endure repeated machine washing without fading or fraying.
Full-fingered gloves are the way to go year-round if you race or are otherwise in a situation in which you might crash. If you crash at speed in fingerless gloves, and your hand makes pavement contact, it takes a long time to put bandaids on your fingertips every morning for two weeks, not to mention changing them during the day when they get soggy from handwashes. Enough said.
These are great-fitting, comfy, have good padding, and will activate a smart-phone screen. They're cool enough for summer and warm enough to ride down to about 55 degrees Farenheit. They don't impede dexterity in the least - much easier to deal with than the typical mountain-bike FF gloves.

Good protection and grip without sweaty hands, April 2, 2012
By B1NARY_N1NJA (Dallas, TX USA)

I like the materials of these gloves, very nice done, the feel is very nice, they protect you well against the sore palms of riding the bike for extended periods of time, at the same time they ventilate very good, I wouldn't use them for winter since your hands will still freeze, but are great summer gloves, they allow you to operate small things and have a good grip. Just be careful with the sizing they come a little bigger than the measures they publish.

poor material, March 2, 2012
By desertfox
|
|
I only used this for a couple of months and the material is already worn out - 2 holes on the palm side of the left golve. Very unhappy. Pearl Izumi website says to contact dealer/store for prompt warranty service. Contacted Amazon but no action taken to cover warranty. Will now try to send to manufacturer and see if it will be replaced or refunded.

Great style but abnormally long thumb, January 13, 2012
By D. Lee (Northridge, CA, USA)
|
|
The glove design is very appealing but the thumb end of the glove is abnormally long. All my fingers fit well except the thumb leaving an extra half an inch of space. Every glove I've bought in medium has always fit perfectly except this glove.
