4.0 out of 5 stars.  Light, easy to use, pretty strong, May 13, 2011
By VajraSattva (Denver, CO USA)
I recently bought this lock for my retro road bike. I plan on using it for quick trips to the store, library, and gym. I really like the design, the easy to use locking mechanism, and how small the lock it. I'm not sure I would leave my bike longterm in public with this lock but I don't think someone could get through it without sizeable cable cutters.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Bike stolen on day 1!, December 18, 2011
By Wendy Cram
I locked my bike up on the first day and when I returned my bike was stolen. This lock is very easy for thieves to cut.

Please don't waste your money, it's cute but bikes are expensive

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic Lock for Certain Uses, February 5, 2012
By Virgil Soames (New York, NY)
This lock is fantastic for what it does: secure bikes in safe places for short times.

I use this lock on my folding bike to keep it from unfolding when lugging it around and deter people from taking it after I bring it inside somewhere. It especially convenient since it's very flexible (can twist it to fit in a coat pocket) and it's covered in silicone to prevent scratches to your bike.

I would never use this lock for keeping a bike outside unless it's just for a quick stop inside a store or cafe and it's a relatively safe place. As with any thin lock, it can be cut through in seconds with the right equipment.

The best security is storing your bike somewhere safe - if you use this lock with that in mind, it's great!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Perfect for quick trips in relatively safe areas, December 10, 2011
By Kikikins (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA)
This lock is perfect for my needs. I typically only leave my bike for short periods of time while I'm getting breakfast or lunch or running a quick errand, and I'm in a fairly safe area. While I doubt it would be hard to cut through this chain if someone really wanted my bike, it's enough of a deterrent to keep someone from fiddling with it. The color is bright enough that it is very visible, so it would be hard for someone to cut through it without being noticed. It's super cute, and the silicone cover keeps scratches from getting on my bike. I get compliments on it all the time, and if I needed more security, I'd buy one of the stronger Knogs in a heartbeat.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love my lock, December 2, 2011
By Lauren
I keep this handy in my messenger bag for quick on and off's when I stop in at a store. Seems sturdy enough, though I wouldn't leave my bike unattended for days with it on. Comes clean easily.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great lock!, November 24, 2011
By filmeo (Jersey City, NJ)
I use it every single day with my folding bike. It's really easy to use. The actual color is baby blue and it matches perfectly with the baby blue color of a citizen bike (Miami)

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good for low security situations, September 26, 2011
By graemewags
This lock is a nice alternative to heavy U Locks. I recently moved from the city to a small town, and this lightweight and colorful lock absolutely serves my needs for limited security. I certainly wouldn't rely on it as my sole lock for long-term locking scenarios, but for going in and out of the grocery store, it works great. It coils into a 4 inch circle, which can be stashed in the side pocket of my messenger, and I like the vibrant color, though the blue is more Sky blue and not Cyan, like it appears in the photo.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not very secure-- lock was cut and bike stolen, February 13, 2012
By F. Kelly (New York, NY)
I locked my bike outside in a trendy neighborhood in San Francisco early in the evening and went in for dinner. I came out an hour later and the lock was cleanly cut and the bike stolen. For locking in very safe neighborhoods, or for a couple of minutes in the daytime, perhaps this lock is ok. It is cute, lightweight, and carries easily. It is also apparently easy to cut into two pieces!

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good for what it is., March 7, 2012
By Cody L. Williams (Washington D.C.)
This lock IS NOT a substitute for a real lock for anyone outside of Japan. It's a decent secondary lock in place of cable, or as a lock you always keep with you on rides. It beats not having a lock when you run into the Quik-Mart on your ride, but honestly, I wouldn't trust it for more. You can google around and see the reviews where people cut it with cheap bolt cutters. It gets three stars because it is as good as any generic cable, but isn't a replacement for a real lock, which it is marketed as. The idea that you could use this as your only lock at any train station, its rating from Knog, is really laughable. If the rating system from Knog was realistic, I'd give it a 5, but I don't think it deserves that rating in light of it's claimed deterability.
