5.0 out of 5 stars.  great wrist guards, August 6, 2009
By Craig Hertzler (Harrisonburg, VA)
I think these wrist guards saved me from breaking my wrists. They are well-made and offer a lot of protection. Spend the money now on quality protective gear rather than spending lots of time and money in physical therapy for broken wrists.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  best protection, August 10, 2009
By RG (Chicago)
This is a great product and the best protection for new and aggressive skaters / skate boarders. Hand and wrist injuries are the most common type and this "glove" style protects against abraisons as well as breaks and sprains. Because they look "cool" my 7 year old son will actually wear them. The "palm side" insert is a bit bulky, but he got used to it after a while. Sizes run a bit small, so don't get a small unless you kid has very small hands.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Just wish they lasted, March 15, 2012
By pgory
I loved these wrist guard/gloves until the gloves started falling apart. I bought them for playing roller derby. They were awesome - I really liked the idea of having gloves for added protection from wheels and rink rash. Unfortunately, the fingers on the gloves started to come apart at the seams. Since I liked them so much, I bought another pair - thinking that maybe I had just been really hard on the first pair, since newer skaters tend to fall harder and more often. However, the next pair wore out the same way in about the same amount of time. If you are very gentle on your gear, these might last you a whole season. Otherwise, probably not. But they're awesome until they're not.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Gloves!, January 25, 2011
By austin944

I have been using these gloves for Mountain Unicycling on the trails over the past few years, and I love them. If you are familiar with the old "Harbinger" wrist-wrap gloves (no longer made), these gloves work just as well as the Harbingers.

They have a hard plastic splint on both the front and back of the glove, either of which can be removed. I keep both splits on. I can still bend my wrist pretty well to grab a unicycling handle. The material is a tough leathery (?) fabric that holds up as well as the Harbingers did. I'm currently on my second set, as the material in the first started falling apart, but I've used them a lot, probably at least 150-200 hours of hard usage on the trail.

I've fallen many times on rocks with these gloves, and they've protected my wrists every time. I've looked at other gloves, and IMO, these gloves provide the best protection to the wrist. They are warm enough for me in winter, and cool enough in the 100 degree weather we have here in Texas. They are very comfortable to wear.

There are three things I don't like about the gloves: when they get really wet, either from sweating or from the rain, the dye in the glove comes off in your hands. It's not a big deal for me, as I can remove it with some scrubbing. Also when they dry out after getting wet, they are very stiff and somewhat hard to get into. But they have a pull-string to help you wiggle into them, so it's a minor problem. Also they are made in China (like most stuff today!), and I'd prefer a product not made there.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Different, April 23, 2012
By Lydia (Augusta, GA)
I had a pair of these that I'd used for well over 2 years for roller derby. They had served me well and it was time for a replacement pair because the material on the side of the wrist was worn completely worn through and was no longer protecting my skin. When I received these there were some notable changes. The new pair were longer and snugger than the older design. It is taking some time to get used to them, but I think the changes were made to provide more wrist protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Protection, February 22, 2012
By Abe Froman
This is a very durable item that saved my wrist a couple times so far. I bought these because I've had a few bad skateboarding wrecks. They have been well worth the cost and I wish I bought them a long time ago. They can be a little hard to pull on and take off, but the leather is worth the added protection.
