A must have if you wrench on bicycles., October 29, 2011
By Dennis

|
I have no other wrenches thin enough to use as a cone wrench. This means that if you intend to maintain you own bike, you must have at least a small selection. You cannot beat Park quality tools.

Well made wrenches, November 30, 2010
By pragmatic (Columbus, Ohio United States)

The handle material and the wrench hold up very well with use. Very easy to hold and more than long enough for the leverage required to meet torque specs for working on a bicycle.

Cost a little more for a reason..., March 28, 2012

There are many reviews of other cone wrench brands out there, and they all seem to bash Park Tool for no other reason higher relative price. What the product description above and the other reviews fail to tell you is that the Park Tool cone wrenches are precision laser cut, and fit the hub nuts perfectly. They are also made of high strength steel. There is a reason for this: Standard combination wrenches are nominally 7mm thick or so, so their strength is in their thickness! Cone wrenches must be very thin (2mm) to adjust wheel hubs, therefore they must be made of much stronger material to compensate. I cannot speak for other brands, but Park Tool cone wrenches last long enough to hand down to children and grandchildren, if used properly.
Cone wrenches are designed for adjusting wheel hubs and freewheels. NEVER use a cone wrench to remove pedals, or make other high-torque adjustments. The wrenches were not designed for this and you could ruin them.

Quality wrenches, March 11, 2011
By Alex
|
|
Working on BMX rear wheel had to use rare 19mm cone wrench. This one fit the bill nicely and what a quality tool it is. But please, keep in mind it is still cone wrench, so use it for holding/adjusting cones, not tightening or even unscrewing them.
