Light and Zippy, September 18, 2010
By Charlie
|
|
I am six foot and over 30, but I wanted a small light bike that zips around. This has been perfect for me on the street. I don't go to the tracks or anything crazy. It's just a fun bike to ride. This of course was the most economical decision for me but I love this bike. It's still a little small for a guy my size, but I know what I was getting into. The front tire is fat and the back smaller, I'm sure that's some BMX thing but I thought it kind of odd.

good buy but few problems, February 28, 2010
By Powell (Raleigh, NC United States)

The bike is great, especially for the price, it does all that it says it does and is very light, which is a bonus.. The seat sits slightly higher than most bikes this size, which caused a few "difficult" stopping incidences and the handle bars do move, tilt forward and back, more than we would like. The Brakes are an absolute nightmare to get adjusted once the bike is put together and even though we know what we are doing, we still had to take it to a bike shop to make sure they were properly aligned and adjusted after spending a LONG time fixing them each time after a couple of bike rides. The store did comment on "the brakes" and our 6 year old was not happy to have his bike disappear for a weekend after just getting it.

Good basic BMX, June 30, 2011
By marklikescoffee

I was looking for a basic BMX-style bike for my 10-year-old son. A lot of the bikes I looked at had a lot of crazy extras like a flywheel on the front and pegs. This is is a nice solid bike without the extra stuff. I was worried about putting it together but it wasn't too hard. I had to attach the handlebar, seat, front tire and pedals and attach the cable to the handbrake. The bike even came with a single wrench and a set of allen wrenches--all you need to put the bike together.

Great bike, January 31, 2010

We bought this for our 10 year and it is great. The bike is light yet sturdy and came well packaged and was easy to put together. Compared to the high street bikes of the same cost there was no comparision.

Light and Strong, But Diamondback Pegs Don't Fit, September 13, 2011
By LJS (Minnesota USA)

I bought this bike for my son because of the light weight. And once I received it, I was pleased that it could be assembled in less than 40 minutes. Now that he's riding it, I'm very happy with the strength of it. We take it nightly to the local BMX track and it has held up just fine. My only reason for giving it three stars is that the Diamondback pegs we bought don't fit the front wheel. The axle is too short and the welds for the front fork are in the way. Seems to me that a BMX bike ought to take pegs made by the same manufacturer.

Great beginner bike., July 21, 2011

My son is 10 and loves it. Should fit him a couple years. Prob not as light as a $400 model but not heavy and looks cool. We bought pegs too. Wasn't hard to put together but better pictures would have helped. My son and i put it together and learned a lot along the way. I think it will be easy for him to switch out parts should he choose to. Be sure to have left and right pedals in right spot. Tires will need more air. Brakes were tricky for me until I looked at another bike's brake system which was the same. Bolts on front tire should be facing toward front. Red relector on back, white on front. We bought other grips but cant seem to get others off or new ones one. Prob obvious to most, except not for newbies like me. I'll try to post a pic of the brake system.

Good Bike, April 14, 2011

I love this bike!! I got it just to ride around town and for exercise. The packing for the bike could of been a little better, the bike had punctured the box and was kinda hanging out. I want to warn you tho it might come partially together, look it over and make sure it is right my back wheel was to close to the frame and it caused the chain to come off while i was riding it. Also the booklet that came with it wasn't the right one.

Awsome Bike!!!!, June 27, 2010

I bought this bike for my daughter's 11th bday. She loves it. Easy to put together. I read other reveiws complaining about the brakes? Not sure why? Brakes are excellent. FYI. Doesn't come with pegs or kick stand, but I took the front pegs off my nephew's mongoose that he got from walmart and they fit perfectly. Spend the extra money and buy this bike instead of those cheap mongoose bikes from walmart. You won't be dissapointed. Those mongoose bikes are alright for the price, but you get what you pay for. The brakes suck on those bikes and they are heavy. A little extra money and you can get a quality bike like this. When you ride this bike you know where the extra money went. If you're on a budget the mongoose bike will have to due.

Customer Service Issues, February 15, 2011
By Jeremy Bentham
|

My brakes just failed to work, because of the wiring was tearing apart, and the bolts stripped. All in the 1st day, and a bike shop dude did it for me. Then the customer service guy just says, "It's not our problem!" I like the bike, but this was enough to make me dislike the experience of having it. Now, I gotta get money to buy new brakes.

You get what you pay for..., July 2, 2011

I'm 5'6" medium build and this is a decent bike to just cruise around short distances but when it comes to doing tricks on it, I would not recommend it. The handlebars come loose way too easily and can't keep the alignment very well and no matter how tight I turn the screws, doesn't stay tight enough to do tricks. This is a pretty heavy bike too so keep that in mind when thinking about purchasing it. This bike does not come with any pegs. I had a Haro bike which was stolen a few years ago and for the same price, I got pegs and the bike was slightly lighter and the handlebars didn't come loose when doing jumps or tricks.
3 stars.

Great bike. Got for my 8 year old son. He loves it. My only problem is he wants to stay outside all the time now and ride the bike. Would highly recommend. The price is great, I did a great deal of searching locally and thru the internet. The best deal.

BMX 20" Bicycle, January 2, 2011

Purchased this as a gift for a 13-year old boy who had had his previous bike stolen. It arrived in fine condition, although the assembly required was more involved than I had anticipated. The 13-year-old loved it.

I purchased this bike at Amazon after looking in local stores and finding it so much more expensive. Plus it qualified for free shipping. The only part that was tricky was putting the brake assembly unit together...but after a couple tries we got it. A great buy!!!

Diamond Viper BMX Bike, August 2, 2010
By happypete

Ordered this bike for my daughter. Charged $90.00 to ship a $200.00 bike. Upon arrival the intertube for the back tire was flat. We added air, but it would not hold. So off again we went to another store to try and repair the tire that was already a costly purchase. At this time my child has not been able to ride the bike yet. Once the repair was made by us and it was in working condition, she loves to ride the bike. We can't get her off of it during the day. So I guess the servie end fails and the product is a hit.

Really awesome value., October 9, 2011
By Steven Jordan (Upland, CA)

My 5-year old is a bit of an advanced bike rider for his age. He absolutely loves his DV Viper. It has freewheel and no pedal brakes. I was nervous that he would have a hard time with the hand brake but the brakes are powerful enough with his small hands that he can give it pleny of brake with little effort. The bike is really great quality and looks awesome. I had a DB Viper when I was a kid over 25 years ago. The bike rides really smooth and works just great. It is durable and great construction and rides plenty smooth. Once he gets several years old we may consider getting him a higher-end bike but this one is great and we go on lots of rides around the neighborhood and even on some 5-mile rides occassionally. He does not do any jumps on it yet but boys will be boys. I have ridden several times and it seems plenty strong to hold my weight (about 165 pounds). So he really has plenty of growing room with this one.

this is a great beginners bike, i learned all my tricks on it in about a month, this is a light, speedy bike, (better for flatland tricks) but if your just riding to have fun you cant go wrong with this bike, unfortunately i got mine jacked, so i upgraded to a haro 200.1 it was aloot better but about 300 bucks more, overall i would reccomend this for any begginer or intermediate rider
