4.0 out of 5 stars.  Strange but it works, September 19, 2011
By Spencer Little
This product does the job. It seems durable enough after I dropped it a few times. It does not fall off my Topeak attachments so I am glad I finally have a light that I cannot lose. It will attach to a Topeak bike rack for baskets. It will also attach to Topeak backpacks or anything that has a vertical clip on it. It is very versatile and is well designed. I wish it had more elaborate flash patterns rather than just a on and off but it works. It takes lithium batteries so it can be more expensive to operate than one that works with AAA but lithium batteries are cheap in bulk so it is not that expensive to run.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Topeak Redlight II Tail Light review, August 25, 2011
By William Verstege (McHenry, IL USA)
I bought this to use when riding on the roads. It just help the drivers coming up from behind notice me a little easier.

A single button on the bottom of the unit gets pressed once for a solid light, and a second press gives you the flashing light. Since I use it during the day, I am using the flashing light.
A friend drove past me and told me later that it really made him notice that there was a rider on the edge of the roadway. I can now ride more at ease knowing I can be seen. I also purchased a mirror that clips onto the temple of my glasses so I don't get that big surprise as a driver whooshes past me. Some cars can be very quiet, and with the electric movement, they will be getting quieter!
I have a little loop on the back of my Topeak bag that was made for this. My friend's Trek bag has the same loop, and he said he was going to buy one after riding with me when I first got this. If you don't have a bag, it has a mounting system to mount to the seat post. I didn't try it there because of the bag blocking the post.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  loose screw, November 26, 2011
By Peter Ring
This is a fine product, however the screw that allows you to change the tilt of the the light can easily loosen just from riding your bike.
I lost the first one I purchased, noticed it kept loosening and the light would simply swing in the back and point down. For as long as I was diligent in stopping to tighten it, it wasn't too bad, however didn't pay attention on one occasion and it was lost.
I actually bought another and experience the same problem. However this time I glued the screw in place, now works perfect.
Its a good Light with a single flaw in the design.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Cheaper quality than expected, November 11, 2011
By madcow
It works great, but the fastening mechanism is quite cheap. There are two hooks on each side of the light body and a thick rubber band that stretches around the post that loops onto the hooks on each side of the light housing. I'm concerned about the long-term life of such an attachment. I was sort of expecting more from Topeak. I would not have bought these if I did more careful research or looked at the product page's pics closer - just assumed too much. I'm keeping them because they are doing the job for now and I don't want to pay for return shipping.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great lights for jogging or biking at night, October 14, 2011
By William C. Chow (Belleville, NJ)
I owned a RedLite I as well. This is a 2nd one for my wife so that we can jog at night. This is a little bigger than the RedLite I, but works the same. I love the option to change into a clip so that I can clip on my pants while I jog, and I can change a different clip for my bike. It has 2 modes (flashing or still) lighting. The battery last pretty long for me. The RedLite I, I've been using it on and off for at least 2 years and it keeps going. I think this one have the same battery usage. We'll see about that.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good enough to be legal, September 27, 2011
By Kacers (Portland, Oregon)
This light is not very bright, but it keeps you road legal and relatively safe. If you need a good light for urban environments you might consider something brighter, but this item is tough and works fine, and its a great deal for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Pretty bright light for a low price, April 19, 2012
By voracious reader (New York, NY)
I'm pleased with the brightness of this light - even under NYC's constant street lights - and the expanded side lighting helps you show up from not just the rear but the side too.

Battery life seems pretty good so far as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Light, April 18, 2012
By onejedi
I didn't like my old light(Zefal) so I decided to try this one. When it arrived I thought it looked good and is bright enough to be seen at night. I ride my bike in the dark often so I think this will work out well. I like the on or flashing feature and the wrap around style. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a full plastic bracket, like my old one, just a half bracket with o rings that wrap around the seat post, which is where I like to mount it, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It works, April 13, 2012
By Douglas Alexander
It's a red light. You buy it. You put the battery in it. You put it on your bike, it's easy. You press the button once and the red light turns on and stays on. You press the button twice and the red light blinks. Press the button once more and the red light turns off. Word.
