2.0 out of 5 stars.  Jeff, November 29, 2010
By J. Duquette (Portland)
The Windstopper gloves are undersized. I have somewhat large hands and always order XXL gloves. This sizing normally works pretty well for me with bicycle gloves. Unfortunately the way the Gore Windstoppers are constructed results in shortened glove finger lengths and an uncomfortably tight fit around the palm and wrist. I tried these on for about 2 or 3 minutes and was convinced that my fingers would be tingling from lack of circulation within 10 or 20minutes of an actual ride.

There is a different material used on the finger tips of the Windstopper Gloves. This different material I assume helps keep you finger tips warm and is likely effective at this. It basically wraps from around the bottom of the finger tips over the top of the finger tips. This wrap is subsequently stitched on the inner side of the gloves finger tips. The result is overly short finger lengths and a series of very stiff stitches on the interior of the finger tips. The interior stitches rub uncomfortably against the top of my fingers just below the bottom of the finger nails. I think the stitiches are supposed to be covered with a soft felt, but in the case of several stitches, the thread is exposed such that the stitches actually rub against the skin. I actually had to remove the gloves to make sure I didn't actually have hang-nails that were resulting in the discomfort from the stiff threadsstitches. The discomfort I was feeling in a short 2 or 3 minute try-on session of the gloves had me convinced that the inside stitches would rub the tops of my fingers raw within 10km or 15km of an actual ride.

I have a number of Gore products which are well thought-out in terms of design and typically have both excellent funtionality and performance. However, their cold weather cycling gloves require some additional thought in terms of design, functionality and comfort.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fits like a glove, October 17, 2011
By Trekker
I've worn these gloves on several rides down to the low 40's and my hands have stayed toasty warm. The padding on the palm is comfortable and I have good dexterity in my fingers to work the brakes and shift levers. I found the Amazon fit chart to be rather vague so I used the one on Gore's website and they fit perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  perfect for winter MTB, December 26, 2011
By Bluecrab
Simply put these gloves fit snug enough to do their job but loose enough to be comfortable. They have kept my hands totally protected from the winter wind which was the only reason for ordering them.
