5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Replacement Chain, September 14, 2011
By drewnj (MADISON, NJ United States)
This chain is an excellent replacement for a 10 speed cassette. Although it's made by SRAM, it's fully compatible with Shimano equipment as well. I'm using mine with a Shimano Ultegra 6700 group. I got about 2,300 miles from my last chain which included a lot of climbing. I think that's pretty good considering how thin these 10 speed chains are. I also like the "Power Lock" master link that SRAM uses. It makes installation very easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Chain, August 15, 2011
By Shawn Woods (Minneapolis, Minnesota)
This chain was one of the parts that I just put on my new bike build and it is very nice. It is one of SRAM's top chains that they sell and it works like it should. I have been using this chain for a while now and I have had super quiet shifting and it was really easy to put on and get going. I recommend this chain to anyone who has a SRAM gruppo especially if it is Rival, Force or Red. Great Chain!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Stronger than the 1071 with very little weight penalty, July 19, 2011
By M. Otis
With chains go for stronger. This is not the place to try and save 5g of weight to make your bike lighter.

I weigh more than most and run super long cranks, and even with that amount of of torque it's never snapped, popped, stretched, or caused any issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great with my SRAM Red drivetrain, January 25, 2012
By Ulrich (San Francisco Bay Area)
I'm not a very diligent maintainer of my cycling equipment, but when I measured my last (approximately year-old) chain and saw that it had grown by several links, I decided to spring for a new chain.

This replacement worked great for me, and may make me put a little more effort into maintenance: The drivetrain felt so much smoother after replacing the chain that I almost felt like I was riding a new bike.

The chain shifts smoothly across all of my gears and doesn't seem excessively noisy - I honestly notice no difference from the higher-tier chain that I replaced.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It's a chain !!!, January 3, 2012
By bikestuffreview
I don't know what expectation you might have for a chain but it does what it suppose to do. It shifts well, it strong, it doesn't wear fast. It has a fast release gold link.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  best chain you can buy, April 3, 2012
By Ruth Sade
I've tried chains from various bands including Shimano and KMC, but this one is the best I've had. it run very quit, easy to install and remove (if you want to clean it or other parts like the cassette) and it last well (my Shimano XT chain broke). I was using it throughout the winter in mud and dust and it really held up well. and the price is the icing on the cake in this case. BTW I'm running this chain with Shimano cassette without any issues, so don't worry about comparability issues

3.0 out of 5 stars.  It's a chain., April 23, 2012
By Videonaut (Washington DC USA)
There's not really a lot to say about it: it's functional, it isn't too heavy or stupid-light, and it fits. I run a Campy drivetrain, and it runs quietly enough. My only problem with it is that the removable link is no longer removable on SRAM 10 speed chains. Luckily I had a couple of leftover Wipperman Connex links, but in the future I think I'll just go with the whole Wipperman chain instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Extremely loud and incredibly poor performance, April 16, 2012
By davin michael anderson (Chicago, IL)
I've ridden fewer than 400 miles since installing this & have already chewed threw this chain, and not one of those miles was pleasant. I replaced every drivetrain component when I put this chain on, giving everything an accurate adjustment. Still, I have had nothing but problems. It has never shifted properly, is virtually impossible to get clean, and is the loudest chain I've ever had. I rode with the PC1091 for 4 thousand miles prior to installing this, simply trying to save a few dollars, but it's caused nothing but frustration. Fundamentally, I can hardly believe any company would put their name on a product this poor.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Master Link didn't fit, May 24, 2012
By B. Foster (Sacramento, Ca. USA)
I bought this chain because it's an upgrade from the PC 1031 chain. I haven't used the chain on a ride yet because, like other reviewers, I couldn't get the master link THAT CAME WITH THE CHAIN to go on completely no matter which tool I tried or how much I heaped curses on it. My Connex link from a Wipperman chain went on like it was made for the SRAM chain. No problems at all. I am very disappointed with this lack of quality control from SRAM. I expected better from this manufacturer. Hopefully a new Connex link will solve this problem, which shouldn't have been a problem in the first place.
