5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable and Durable, January 14, 2010
By J. Martino (San Diego, CA USA)
I own a lot of bike tools. Probably enough to open a shop. The one tool I use more than any other in my arsenal is the Park Tool AWS-1 Y-shaped Hex wrench, because it's comfortable, durable, and useful for 90% of all the bolts on a bike.

Pros:

- The wrench arms themselves are made of high quality steel that seems to resist wear and tear, regardless of how often I use them.
- The y-shaped design allows for a good amount of torque to be placed upon the bolt head
- The plastic "body" is comfortable in the hand, and has been very durable over the past year
- I have used the tool to work on bikes 2-3 times per week for over a year, and it doesn't show a single sign of "wearing out."
- It's relatively cheap compared to some other specialty tools, especially Park Tool brand

Con:

- The y-shaped design makes tightening bolts in recessed or tight areas somewhat difficult, especially seatpost clamp bolts on posts like Thomson (2 x 4mm bolts). For those jobs, another (smaller) hex wrench is significantly better-suited.

I like mine so much, I'm going to get the AWS-3 containing the smaller wrench set.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE ALREADY, April 22, 2007
By TODD ROYALL CASPELL (Port Orca, Wa. USA)
ALL bike life on this planet would cease to exist without the 4/5/6 Allen Y wrench. Since campi never made one, Park is THE BEST. If you do ANY wrenching on your bike you should buy this NOW or sooner. You will use it all the time. Park makes great quality tools.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Handy And Well Designed, May 8, 2011
By L. Dyer
This AWS-3 2, 2.5, 3mm Park Hex Tool is well made out of quality steel with standard hex tips. The center of the tool is made of a durable plastic as are the individual sleeves at the bases of each of the allen keys, that keeps them from scuffing any painted surface that comes in contact while using the tool. The overall length is 2 7/8" from the center of the tool to the tip of each of the allen keys and the space in between each hex tip is 4 7/8". Overall an excellent and handy tool, highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Ok, with flaws, December 6, 2011
By Dion (California)
I'll start by saying that this is a good and smart idea for bicycle Allen wrenches. HOWEVER, the layout of the device makes it very bulky and unable to reach the nut for the seat. I'm able to get to easy to reach areas on the bike, but hard to reach areas, like under the seat, I need to resort to a real Allen wrench. Useful, but limited. I'm glad I have it, but because of the inability to access hard to access areas on the bike I wouldn't purchase this again. I'll just keep a few Allen wrenches in my backpack in the future. Simpler, for sure, but will access all of the spots on the bike 100% of the time.

Compact and easy to use. This tool fits nicely in a saddle tool bag for those appropriate moments. Highly recommended for all bike riders.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid, August 17, 2011
By gtown (Columbus, OH)
Solid tool from Park.

This is my go-to and does just about everything i typically do on the bike. The only thing I've notices is using for saddle adjustments can be a problem because turning radius is less than using a collapsing wrench which can spin about 330degrees. the maximum when you're close to he seatpost is about 90 degrees.

This is the first tool I grab.

I also like that there is blue ring on the middle size which makes it very easy visual reference to know what the middle size is. Obviously some thought went into the design of this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Purchased this because, July 29, 2011

The bicycle shop where I got my Trek uses this same too. They told me it was really handy and if it didn't fit something on the bike, I probably shouldn't be fooling with it anyway. OK.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  In a word: Indispensable., April 2, 2010
By Tech Chan (Lenoir, NC)
First of all I work at a bike shop; I'm not a home mechanic that has a different day job.

I have 3 of these 3-ways, one on my stand, one in my back pocket, and the last in my toolbox.

I still use each individual tool more than anything else in the shop. If you work on bikes you need one of these. No excuses.

This tool is very good for bike repair, good leverage. I use it for repairs at home. I carry the foldable version in my bike.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent, high quality steel. Small complaint..., January 9, 2012
By nevery (Orange County, CA USA)
This tool is perfect, except that the version I received has no size indicated via color, as in the picture. So instead of always going to, say, the blue one, you have to try to judge the right size and then flip it around if you are wrong. I like the tool a lot but -1 star for the exclusion of the color indicating caps, as pictured.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great tool, gets the job done, December 29, 2011
By Mutterweimar
We have a couple of these puppies at out workshop, i also decided to buy my own for home use. 4,5,6 are the most commonly used hex wrenches on bikes, so this Y-wrench lets you easily switch between all of the three instantaneously. you also have decent control when turning bolts, the leverage is great. the only reason i give it 4 stars is because i found the metal to be a little too soft when used over an extended period of time, such as in the workshop.

perfect little companion for the occasional bicycle enthusiast, too heavy for traveling though.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Must have tool, November 29, 2011
By B
This is a must have tool for any bike repair shop at home. Order the balldriver instead of the flat end. Will give you a better torque on an angle. Sometimes it's a bit hard to use in tight places but overall would not do without

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Too Big, April 2, 2011

Ball end allen drivers are usually for the tighter spaces. This thing is way too large for most of those places.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Another great Park bike tool, March 25, 2010
By hdoutla (Central Coast, CA)
The most common sizes all in one tool; ball head allows access in tough places; fairly long reach; and triangle in palm allows good torque;

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Another Perfect Park Tool, March 18, 2012
By Shaun Hazel (Tacoma, WA)
I have quite a few Park Tools and this one comes in handy. Comfortable in hand and in just about any position you can maintain leverage and torque. Everyone with a bike should have one; including a good multi-tool for their pack.

It's like a 3-in-one hex wrench and it's by PARK.
It is sturdy and does the job. A must have for bike

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Park has no balls, April 14, 2012
By Bryrland (Pacific NW)
The product description is misleading. It says: "Chamfered tips for a precision fit. Hang-card packaging. PK-4238: Bondhus balldriver tip for up to 25 degree angled use.". Now that I received this product I find it does NOT have ball tips (was thinking maybe the ball tips were inside and they could be flipped around). Then, go search for "PK-4238" as a separate product - but you won't find it anywhere except pasted in various sales postings for this same product.
