2.0 out of 5 stars.  Wrong Model Description?, June 6, 2011
By K. Chaney (Northern Colorado)
The Bell Road Stash Handlebar Bag (model 1006650) does not convert into a fanny pack and has no reflective stripes as given in its Amazon description. It is a bag with a padded handle on top that attaches to your bike handlebars using velcro straps. The description may be for the model 1005417.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Simple Stash, January 3, 2012
By Johnny D
This is a very basic bag but seems to be sturdy enough and mounted easily to my mountain bike with a good position as not to block any head lights. The handle on top isn't really necessary and reflective stripes would be nice. The product description here is off as this item does not convert to a fanny pack and has no reflective stripes but does have enough storage for gloves, sunglasses, keys, sunscreen, etc. This will be a nice daily bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great solution for me., October 16, 2011
By Joe Escalante (Seal Beach, CA USA)
I have this actually strapped to the top part of the basket on my bike and it stays in there quite nicely. It's really basic so no one is going to steal this thing. Therefore I don't worry about losing it, but if I did, it was cheap.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice bag., January 15, 2012
By pkerns (texas)
This bag is really nice looking and of good quality. It's a great bargain for the price. It's easy to attach and detach, sits nicely on the bike, and had a sturdy handle for carrying. My only complaint is that the zipper pull is a little flimsy, and zipping around the curve thus somewhat tricky. That's the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5.

Love this bike bag!! It is roomy and easy to put on bike handle bars and easy to remove when needed. All five grandchildren and their parents received one for Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great as a motorcycle crossbar bag!, April 23, 2012
By Chopperbob (California)
As most motorcyclists know, ANY product that is marketed for Motorcycles seems to quadruple in price IF it is branded by the popular motorcycle vendors.

It was nice to find an inexpensive bicycle bag that works great as a motorcycle bag, too! Especially because the price is so reasonable.

I use this bag to stash a baseball cap, gloves, pen, kleenex, sunscreen and chap stick to have handy during my motorcycle rides. the Velcro straps are adjustable to almost any size bar and the there is a strap between the velcro adjusters that I used to "zip-tie" the bag onto the crossbar, for extra security.

The bottom of the bag is coated with a rubber-like coating that protects the paint on my motorcycle!

I highly recommend this product. It is a great value and well made.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Cheap, March 16, 2012
By ander (utah)
I picked this up from walmart because i needed a bag and it seemed to fit the bill for a very low price. It's definitely easy to take on and off.
For a while it functioned perfectly, but after some use the zipper really started having troubles. I would have to struggle with it for a while to make sure it wouldn't have any kinks in the zipped-up part. My most recent use of it i was struggling to zip it up and ended up pulling the zipper off the track accidentally, so i'm in the market for a new bag.
If its something you'll just use very occasionally it should be fine, but if you will use it many times a week as a bike commuter, you're better off getting a better quality bag

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Cheapo zipper not for me, January 20, 2012
By R. Clark (Georgia - USA)
After considering a Maxpedition Proteus for my beachcruiser bike, I seen this Bell bag at the local big box store. The Bell bag is not for me. Zipper appears to be cheap nylon, not quality or YKK zippers. Even worse, the zipper teeth on the curve of four bags that I examined didn't quite line up, and made it difficult to open on the zippered curve. After having owned Maxpedition stuff, I'll hold out for a Proteus -- even though they cost 6x as much. I like the design of the Bell bag, and of course the cheap price = 2 Stars -- but I'd rather have a quality bag to carry my essentials.
