Looks good but poor quality, May 29, 2011
By w Kids (Atlanta GA)

I bought this for my 3 yr old b/c it was on sale and I only paid 27.54. That is about how much its worth. While it looks really good both in picture and in person, the build quality is poor.
1) this thing is heavy! I have no idea why the manufacturer chose this material instead of something lighter.
2) while the assembly is fairly easy and there are few parts, the fastening mechanisms are crude. For example, where the handlebar attaches to the frame, the clamp is of a poor design and loosen easily, even after repeated tightening. OK for use by my daughter but easily turned (misaligned) by some of the older kids in the neighborhood.
3) Poor wheel design. The wheels feel loose as the axle does not ride smoothly in the axle tube. This goes the same for the fronts as well. Using bearings or even better plastic bushings would've helped
Overall, the quality of the tricycle is poor. For what I paid, I'm ok with it but for the listed $75, look elsewhere.

Strong, sturdy, endurable tricycle, May 30, 2011
By Milton Penner
|
|
I want to tell anybody reading this that this is a great tricycle. It is of a strong, almost only metal construction. My only concern concerning construction is the fork for the front wheel. The last inch or so of the fork on both sides is plastic. I can see the purpose of it (a bushing for the shaft of the front wheel), but I would think that there would be a way to make it of metal construction and put a plastic bushing inside the metal construction. In spite of that, I feel this trike is a good choice, far better, of course, than any of those plastic things that they call tricycles. This trike is well strong enough for me (160 pounds) to step on the rear deck and ride there. I almost feel comfortable (concerning durability) to sit down on the seat. It's only the front plastic forks that concern me there.
As a summary, this is it. If you are looking for a strong, sturdy trike that will last and not tip easily, you have got to get one of these, a Classic Flyer made by Kettler.

Well-built with great customer service, June 2, 2011
By J. Chun (USA)

Both the reseller and the manufacturer gave us excellent service when the item arrived missing a major component.
Kettler shipped out a replacement piece, no questions asked, which we recieved within a few working days.
PROS: The bike is attractive, well-built from all metal parts (heavy) and looks fun.
CONS: Unfortunately, our 2+yr old son does not have legs long enough to reach the pedals yet. He is about average height and normal torso/leg ratio, so I'd recommend this bike for 2.5-3yr olds. Also, the bell on the handlebars seems to unscrew itself with normal use and fall off (we got a $5 colorful squeeze ball horn instead).

Very good deal., May 29, 2011

It is a good purchase: Cute and classical. Very durable.
There is only one thing to mention: My son is 2.5 years old and he is relative tall. But he can not reach the pedals even the seat was set the lowest position. Hope he will do a good job soon.

my son LOVES his "ike", May 29, 2011
By Lisa (Florida)

When I saw this item for a STEAL, I couldn't pass it up, being a week or so before my sons birthday and all! Turning 3, it was a perfect gift for him. He loves it! We have tile flooring so he can ride it, although he gets frustrated due to lack of coordination still, but this bike is helping big time with it andd preparing him for "the real world" of big bikes :) it is very nicely made, seemingly great quality. Assembly was rather simple and quick. We have an issue with the bell (oh darn! Haha) but otherwise, perfect!

As good as the "Radio" Flyer, May 11, 2011
By J. Key

|
I thought that I was ordering a Radio Flyer. Not so, but just as good, maybe better. Very strong trike, excellent paint job. All parts included and they fit. If it ever runs again at $20 I'll order 3 more, one for each of my kids for their kids. The only problem is that the paint or packing had a smell that took a few days to clear. No headaches or problems, just a smell.

Fun retro bike!, May 6, 2011

This is a beautiful bike! It is utterly charming.
Putting it together was extremely easy. The directions were several steps. Look carefully at the instructions describing how to attach the rear wheel axle to the framework. In particular, pay attention to the relationship of washer, bushing, and wheel. I did it correctly the second time.
Our youngest granddaughter finally got to the age when she is looking for pedals instead of pushing herself along -- luckily on just about the same day this showed up on sale at a good price.

Great bike, May 4, 2011

Just got this bike. Assembly was a breeze. 20 min and that was with my two year old trying to help. She loves it. She is a tall two year old and just reaches the pedals on the lowest seat setting. Drives nicely. I could even stand on the back and ride downhill with her. Very sturdy. The bell and tassles are even good quality.

Great, sturdy trike., September 7, 2011

Bought this for my nephew's second birthday. It was great to see that it is as sturdy as the other reviews say. It's a little too big for him, so I wish I could find a push handle to work with it, but other than that it's the perfect thing! I got it shipped with next day shipping for the extra four dollars (I'm an amazon prime member...LOVE it!) and it was ready for our trip to his birthday party.

Parts!, August 7, 2011
By mjr

This is a generally high quality tricycle. Unfortunately upon opening the box, we were missing a couple of parts. Also important to know is that for some reason, the company elected to put the bolts, washers and locking nuts in the position where they would eventually be used rather than in the parts bag. This made no sense to me, but I happened to find them.
We have a tall 2 year old and this tricycle is too big for him right now. I would recommend a 10" if your child isn't at least 2.5 years old.
Outside of that, the tricycle is of high quality and will be well used for us in the near future.

Pros:
Well-built, heavy-duty construction. Looks like it will stand up to a decent amount of abuse from my kids. Easy to put together.
Cons:
Heavy (which makes it harder to pedal), but it also acts as a speed limiter for my toddler.
