Product Description:
Thomson has a fitting reputation for reliable, functional and lightweight components. In the same vein as Chris King, they take their time before releasing a product -- when they do, they've done it right. The Thomson Seatclamp is no different. Granted, most of us don't consider a seatclamp a performance component -- that is, until it's not performing. There's not much worse than being on a ride when your seatpost is gently easing its way down into the seat tube. The Thomson Seatclamp represents the Thomson values in a sleek, simple, lightweight package. While they admit you probably won't win a race because of it, Thomson engineered this beauty to perform -- the bolt is threaded at an angle, about 1.5 degrees off-center, to help provide awesome clamping force -- they say just 20 inch-pounds on the fastener will suffice. It's available in anodized black or silver in 31.8 or 35.0mm sizes.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Does what it's supposed to do!, December 21, 2010
By Ideal Consumer (San Francisco, CA USA)
I used this to replace a stolen seat post and collar (quick-release type...if you commute on your bicycle, get rid of the quick releases!), and it fit my Specialized Rockhopper perfectly. I feel a little safer this time around!

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Weak clamp, April 22, 2012
By scwman
This is the only collar I could find in this size. I usually prefer Salsa collars b/c they are strong. The Thomson is light weight and weak. I don't care about saving grams on a critical high stressed component. At 195 lbs with gear I usually want strength first. Don't overtighten or you can completely close it up. Would definitely not buy again. If you are lighter weight and looking to shave everywhere you can then go for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thomson is a trusted brand and well built, September 14, 2011
By sambog (CA, USA)
I have Thomson seat post on my bike with cheap seatpost clamp. I was happy with my old seatpost clamp but since I have to loosen and tighten the screw when I adjust my seat height or attached a trailer hitch for my daughter bike, the Allen-key nut wear out and it broke. I wanted to get a good quality seat post and start looking Thomson seatpost clamp and was happy that Amazon have the right size. Great quality product, nice design and a brand you can trust.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  beautiful, functional, November 9, 2011
By Juan D. Garcia (NYC)
this is a real seatpost clamp. I'm a Thomson fan, but only because they do really make good solid stuff.

I had someone ogle/admire my bike at the ATM just because of this seatpost binder. Crazy...

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Thomson product, January 12, 2012
By dog lover (New Hampshire)
We have found Thomson seat posts to be well made and durable. When the seat post clamp on my winter bike gave up after several seasons, I got the Thomson product. The finish is even better than the photos. It would compliment a high end bike. It fits my seat post and holds well. No more rotating of the seat while I ride! Read the instructions. The correct bolt torque is lower than most clamps. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice, but...., January 7, 2012
By The Lew OC
This is a nice clamp with typical Thomson quality, but compared to most other clamps out there it just looks over-bulky like a mini donut at the bottom of your seatpost. I'm really bummed because the USA made options are pretty thin clamps. If all you care about is a solid clamp that will do its job this is great, but if you want a sleeker look then try something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Clamps with a lot of force, September 20, 2011
By Luigi
It doesn't take much tightening of the bolt to get this clamp to do its job. Once tightened, the seat post doesn't go anywhere. I bent a seatpost because this clamp didn't allow it to slip. Maybe it does its job a little to well. It's made in the USA, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thomson does it right, April 17, 2012
By Donna G.
I initially bought a Thomson clamp to match my Thomson seatpost, but upon receiving it was very impressed by its craftsmanship. The engineering is quite extraodinary, as only a fraction of the torque that my previous OEM seatpost clamp was required to prevent my seat from twisting.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It's a Thomson...., November 22, 2011
By JRFlurry
Is beautiful. It's a Thomson. It keeps the seat post from falling. All Thomson products are amazing and super lightweight. Get one...or get two and wear one as a ring. Happy trails!
