Huffy Women's Bayponte Bike, June 4, 2010
By Elibeth (El Monte, CA USA)

Love the bike. This is my very first bike, and it rides smoothly. Like the color. The seat is convertible (love it). At first I thought, I shouldn't of bought the bike on line, because it might be difficult to assemble it. I was wrong, when it got to my home it was partially put together and all I had to do is put some of the parts myself (all guess work, it was that easy). Would I buy another Huffy bike for a friend or for my future self? The answer is yes, and also because it was the cheapest on Amazon.

Ehh, August 26, 2010
By Paige

I bought this bike a few months ago and when it first arrived I loved it. It looks exactly the same as the picture and it is fun to ride around on... However, it is definitely not meant for even the slightest of hills. The road in my neighborhood is relatively flat, and at one point I felt like I was coming to a stop for no reason at all. That's how hard to pedal it was. Also, despite the fact that it was easy to assemble and seems pretty sturdy, the handlebar started moving up and down after riding it twice. Not to mention the lack of handlebar breaks- yes, I realize these are uncommon on cruiser bikes- makes it much harder to stop quickly.
I advise you, ONLY buy this bike if you're looking for something to cruise around on occasionally... on sidewalks... without hills... or too many rocks... or small children/animals who may run out in front of you without 10 seconds notice... but where people will see it (because it IS pretty)... and if you absolutely cannot spend an extra $20 for a nicer bike.

Nice!, March 12, 2011

This is a nice cruiser. It's not going to win the Tour de France but if you wanted that, you'd probably choose another bicycle anyway. :) It's solid, it's well designed, and the teal and white color scheme is pretty. It's good value for the money, IMHO.
However: if you have never assembled a bike before you may want to enlist a friend to help you with this. The bike does come 80% assembled, but you do still have to install some critical components. I pride myself on being able to assemble things without help, and I have owned bikes before, but this one stumped me. The instructions provided by Huffy are, shall we say, less than helpful...think tiny diagrams that don't actually match the bike and unclear instructions. I didn't find any guidance on the Huffy site so I finally took the bike to a bike shop to have them double-check my work and inflate the tires. It turned out that I had missed a few things, so it was $15 well spent.

Great beginners bike, July 5, 2010
By Amanda N. Moss (San Diego, California)

It's adorable. If you're looking for a great bike to just cruise on, it's perfect! It doesn't go very fast and doesn't have gears you can shift so it's bad for hills and steep places, but an excellent bike to ride around on. Love it.

Excellent bike for the money, March 2, 2011
By Greg (Chicago, IL)

I bought this bike for a casual bike ride. There are no hills where we live, so, no gears and the touring experience seemed like all we needed. It arrived mostly assembled. The only missing part was a nut that fell off where the rear fender is attached because it was not "spun" on enough by whoever put it together. It looks nice and rides pretty good. The front tire is a little out of line and sometimes brushed up against the fender. Again, for the price, I'm very happy with this bike.

Workable, but disappointing, January 10, 2011
By Jamie Regan (Florida)

I received the bike in perfect time, however, when I opened the box I was extremely disappointed to see that the fender of the bike was dented and the paint had a deep gouge on the frame. Putting it together was a challenge in itself as the instructions were very very hard to follow, however, once I did get it together I was pleased with the way it rode. For the money, I suppose I got what I paid for but really wish it would have been in better shape physically. I have purchased several items from Amazon and am usually very pleased, however, this time I have to say you missed the mark. Sorry. Huffy Women's Bayponte Bike, Teal, 26-Inch

Love My Bike, June 19, 2011
By Sylvia Lujan

This is an excellent bike for the "social biker". Its not heavy-duty by any means and I bet if you took a spill, the bike would probably be dented because the bike is made from very light weight metal. On the plus side, this makes it light and easy to move around. The bike is very comfortable and I enjoy riding it. Its a simple "peddle forward to go and backward to stop". No stinking wires or hand-brakes. I just wanted a cutesy, simple bike for cheap. It was extremely simple to put together and I was riding it 30 min after i took it out of the box. For the most part, I am extremely happy that I made this purchase. The bike is definately teal. Here's my negative-When I took the back fender out, and it comes wrapped in cardboard to prevent dents, it had a dent right across the top-about 2 inches wide. It is very visible. A year or so down the road, I will expect dents and scratches, since I said the fenders, etc. are made of very light gauge metal. However, not straight out of the box. That was dissappointing. Otherwise, happy.

This bike is great, looks good, rides well and is a lot of fun. However, it was missing a couple of parts and the instructions were terrible. It took hours to put together due to bad instructions.

Missing Parts, July 30, 2011
By Nina Mehta (San Francisco)
|
|
I read the reviews and thought this would be a great, cheap, cute bike to take to Burning Man. I think it will be. However the box is not packaged well and many many parts are missing (nuts and bolts). I had to call over a friend who knows about bikes to help me partially assemble the bike enough that I could walk it to a bike shop and complete the labor.
I would have given 2 stars for the hassle but I am a Prime member and the service was good and they refunded me $30 which should hopefully cover more of the costs.
It's cute and will be great to ride around on the desert. It's a little heavy but not anything I cannot carry.
Best of luck with yours! I think otherwise assembly would have been ok.

Dents, rips, missing parts., August 1, 2011
By Pohtaytoes
|
|
So this arrived today, and there was a really big dent in the rear fender, plus it was missing some nuts and bolts. In addition to that, there was a rip in the seat. I guess $120 is pretty cheap for a bike, so you get what you pay for. It's always better to go to an actual bike shop than buy things like this online. I would not be purchasing another Huffy bike.

A RIP OFF- DO NOT BUY ZERO STARS, August 1, 2011
By Siobhan
|
|
I got this bike thinking it would be perfect for riding around town- the seat broke (I am 5'7" 125 lbs- so it was not my weight). When I brought the bike to a bike store- they pointed out how the seat was not properly welded- and it could not be fixed since the seat part had fallen through and well- I wasted my money. DO NOT BUY!!!!!
