If you shop at Brooks Brothers, then this bike is for you. The Classic Bike is what we used to call a boys' bike. The bike that you throw your leg over the bar like you are riding a Shetland pony. Personally, we like the Step-Thru Bikes more. We know, we know, it used to be a girl bike. Anyway, this bike is black with black rims. Awesome ride. Especially with the creme balloon tire package upgrade. That would be like buying the sincere blue suit with a Jerry Garcia tie. It's you.
Optional Tire/Seat Package Upgrades:
OK, so you can see in the Tire/Seat Package options that the balloon upgrades available for Pedego bikes make the bike look different - and cost more! But what's the big deal? The balloon upgrade is distinguished by hand-stitched, padded hand grips; a padded suspension seat; and Schwalbe "Fat Frank" tires. The tires have Schwalbe Kevlar Guard built in to help prevent flats. So the balloon upgrade gives you incredible looks and superior performance as well.
Pedego Classic Cruiser Specifications:
PEDEGO was conceived in 2007 to create a line of electric bikes that combine style and function to open up cycling to anyone who might otherwise not be getting the benefits from bike riding. PEDEGO bike is just like a regular bicycle with a quiet built-in electric hub motor to provide additional assistance. You can pedal normally and just use the motor to help out on hills and headwinds or use the motor all the time just to make riding easier. The experience is entirely different from riding a gas scooter or motorbike. The electric assistance is perfectly smooth and silent, which complements, rather than supplants, human power. * Charger Smart Charger Included * Amps: 10 AMP Hour * Volts: 36 Volt * Tires: Kenda 26-inch x 2.30-inch K-RAD Urban Tires Standard; Schwalbe Balloon tires optional * Speed: 20 MPH using motor power only * Distance: 15-30 miles per c

Amazing!, March 31, 2011

I rented one of these in Santa Monica and it was so fun. You charge the battery and then you have hours of fun and riding. You can pedal, but when you hit a hill you can push the throttle and suddenly you're up the hill without a fight. I haven't bought my own yet, but I really want to.

I bought mine last September through Amazon. Researched electric bikes extensively. My decision was Pedego. Check it out. You won't be disappointed, unless you want to be. I get more people stopping me to get a better look and ask questions than if I were driving a Maserati or a Lamborghini. Finally had to ask for some brochures to give out to satisfy all the questions. Ride on!
