Excellent quality got for a song at Amazon ($60 plus change), January 24, 2012

I myself have a bunch of the Men's Phantom. I've gotten them all when Amazon had low prices (like $100 or thereabouts) instead of the high full retail. This Amazon had for the insanely low price of about $60 in Women's so I got one for the GF. She loves it. They are excellent. I wish the zippers were of slightly better quality (like the zippers on the Countdown from Gore Bike Wear), but otherwise they are superb.
The back panel is not waterproof but instead a breathable jersey type of fabric. On mine (and this one for her) this means that you really notice the nice cooling effect of that back panel and never feel like you are stewing in your own juices when it is hot. The countdown does not have this feature, but it is 100% water proof on the back because of that.
The fact that these have not mesh but an actual fabric as the inner layer means they wick moisture better than the Countdown, and in spite of being insulated more transfer moisture away a bit better. The arms off leaves little sleeves behind which makes them nice for cool but not cold days as just short sleeve jerseys.
Excellent.
These and the Countdown AS are the best Gore jackets.
The sleeves zipping off seemed a bit silly, but actually is crazy convenient!

Great jacket, July 11, 2010

A great jacket. I wear it cycling, with the sleeves on or off and it's been nothing but durable and versatile (and it doesn't look half bad either!)

Great Biking Jacket!, November 23, 2011

This is a great jacket--it breathes, but it blocks the wind/rain, and the sleeves come off so it's very versatile. Just so happens to be fashionable too!
