4.0 out of 5 stars.  Its great so long as your on a smooth path, May 16, 2010
By KTRogers (Virgina, USA)
I chose this trailer because I have a very active two and a half year old little boy, and I was worried about the stabilty of one of those chairs that attach to the seat of your bike. I liked this trailer for its smaller size and that it is fairly light and seemed fairly sturdy, okay now here is how it did.
SET UP: was very easy, instructions where pretty clear, and most was commonsense. The only thing I had a little trouble with was loosening the bolt on the bike to attach the trailer, so if you have an older bike this part might require a little more muscle.
THE RIDE: I took the trailer on a 5 mile test drive today, the trail was paved, but very bumpy due to root growth breaking through the pavement, over wooden bridges, and up quite a few hills. The trailer did well over the bumps just don't take rough terrain fast. Turning the corners onto the bridges presented a challenge, I would have to dismount the bike and lift the back tire to slide the trailer enough to get it onto the bridge. If it where any larger I would not have been able to take it on the trail. Hills where impossible for me at this time, the slight inclines I could handle, but hills are tough on a bike to begin with, but add 40+ lbs and it becomes VERY hard, I have fairly strong legs but I had to walk the bike and trailer up the steep hills.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are doing any amount of hills your breaks on your bike will need to be replaced a lot sooner, it was hard to keep a decent pace with the trailer going down hill, and my brakes where screaming the whole way.
When you go up and down road curbs you have to take them SLOWLY, and when you kick off to start peddling use your right foot, the left will get caught under the hitch bar and you will end up with bruised heels and ankles and ruin your sneakers.
MAJOR CONS: I really don't like the way the front mesh is set up, the back tires kicks dirt up into the trailer and by the time we where done with our ride my son was covered with dirt, and I was on pavement the whole time. It does come with a clear rain cover but if you use that there are no vents and the inside gets way too hot.
Overall Im pleased with the cart, It does what i need it too. Also, on another review someone mentioned that you can't ajust the sag on the bottom, and you can- the straps are just under the "seat" you can tighten them up all the way and it creates more of a seat look instead of just a big dip. Though I am still trying to find out if it can recline, my sons head was bobbling everywhere once he fell asleep.
Also, I can't see two kids fitting and being comfortable for any length of time; unless your kids get along great and don't mind their shoulders touching.
I also can't see the material lasting long with regular use, it is a cheap plastic pretend canvas that looks a little flimsy, so long as it holds up it is a good deal, once mine gives out I will probably go for a better one, but this one is great for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product...great price, June 24, 2010
By AlaskanMom (Alaska)
I bought this so I could take my 3 year old with me on bike rides. She loves it. I have used it non-stop since receiving it. It is well made. Love that it has room in the back for extra items. It has an orange flag so it can be seen. I've rode over miles of gravel roads and she said it was bumpy, but still enjoyed the ride. I am very happy with this purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  It's no Burley, but it worked in a pinch, October 7, 2010
By Meg
My husband and I had been planning a family bike trip on the east coast to see fall colors. But when we found out how much it would have cost to ship our Burley trailer to/from San Jose, CA to Hartford, CT, we opted to purchase this InStep Double Trailer strictly for the trip. We have two kids, 4 and 3 years old and our plan was to put them both in the trailer and our gear as well. We knew it might be tight, but we felt it was worth a try and, if necessary, we'd purchase something additionally. (This would still have been cheaper then shipping our equipment to/from San Jose.) The InStep box was waiting for us at the bike shop and putting the trailer together went quickly. The plastic wheels weren't very hardy, in my opinion, and we'd run into trouble if we pumped them up to more than the recommended 35lbs. The main problem was the lack of storage capacity in the back. We did end up having to rent additional equipment in order for us to fit our gear. That said, it would probably work fine for quick jaunts and around town trips. Two is snug, but doable. But I'm not sure if two passengers and groceries in the back could work, like it does with the Burley.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great option at great price, May 1, 2010
By Maria E. Ahues (Miami, FL, USA)
Ok first the good things about this trailer:

1. Price
2. Space for additional storage behind the seat which doesn't bother your kid(s)
3. Can fit two kids, but also has a "center" seat if it's only one kid
4. Easy to install on the bike
5. Light to carry
6. Good looking ( i love the blue color it comes in )
7. Anti-mosquitos and rain covers

The issues we see:

1. It has a soft bottom, so we're worried that he might hit something from the ground if we go over a rock or something. So we have to be really careful
2. It's wide, of course for two kids, which means its hard to go on small sidewalks.
3. It can get warm inside it, my baby was sweating today after a long ride, but we live in Miami so i guess its expected

The best thing is that it is lots of fun to go out with the little one with our bikes! totally worth it!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Comes with a coupler, just so you are aware!, March 16, 2012
By Galwaygirl26
Awesome. This trailer is such a great price and is so handy. I just got it today, so further testing is needed, but here is what I can say so far:
1- It came with a coupler attachment. I had purchased a separate one because others reviewed that it didn't come with one. So it was annoying that I spent extra money when I did not need to.
2- Trailer is easily put together and no tools needed. It took me about 20 minutes but I am a bit slow with instructions. To install the coupler, you will need a socket wrench.
3- I fit two 4 year olds in there and while they were snug next to each other, there was plenty of foot room and room for their stuffed animals and water bottles and matchbox cars and all the other junk they had to bring along.
4- Pulling the extra weight was a workout for my legs, but not too difficult.
5-Super smooth ride for me and for the kids. I was surprised, actually, at how smooth it was. The trailer is also not very wide, it will fit on the sidewalk.

All in all, I think this was a great purchase. I think it will be cool to also be able to bike to the store or my food co-op and be able to carry groceries in the trailer.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Terrific for the price!, July 11, 2011
By Car Buff, Gamer, Reader, Music Fan.. (Raleigh, NC, USA)
Yes, "for the price". As with all my reviews, I want to qualify "what it is" vs. "what it isn't" so that potential buyers can put it in a frame of reference.

What it is:
Cheap, incredibly easy to assemble, solidly made. It'll last for a couple of years - enough for 2 or 3 kids to go on semi-regular bike rides. It's comfortable for one 3-year-old or two smaller kids.

What it's not:
Not made of heavy canvas or burlap, not going to last as a hand-me-down for three, five, ten families to use, not good for applications other than pavement, gravel or smooth packed earth. With the super-simplified hub assembly and plastic wheels, it's not likely to last you a million miles.

Impressions:
The wheels "snap in" to the hub assembly so there's no magic to this; there's no solid axle, no suspension, just two greased necks that slide in, 'lock in' to metal apertures, and that's it. The axle 'nub' is metal; but it's not going to have heavy wheel bearings. It assembles unbelievably easily, so while I am a fairly mechanically inclined person and work on my own cars, plumbing and HVAC, I was impressed how simple this would be for a non-mechanically-inclined person to assemble.

I've taken about half a dozen rides with my 3-year-old son seated in the center in the back. Every time I make a 2-mile loop around the lake in the near-by city park, I get two to four comments/compliments from joggers with kids in strollers, other bikers, etc. One guy on a bike paced me and said that the trailer looked great and asked all about it - where I got it, how much it cost, how well it works. It's not cheap junk, so you can put that out of your mind. For $80 it's a steal; I paid about $20 more and that was easily worth it.

However, the seating and sides are all plastic or polyester. Heavier kids will 'ride low' so if you go over rapid bumps or high roots, things you wouldn't really notice on a bike with 26" wheels, the kids could bump their bottoms. My son fits fine by himself, but when my daughter turns 1, it might be a bit of a squeeze to get a 1 year old and a 3 year old in there together. Realistically, I'm not sure I'd want to be dragging around something that's roomy for 2 kids anyway.

Finally, based on the mechanical construction, I would surmise that this one is good for occasional rides for 2-3 families with 2-3 kids. At most. That depends, too, on how big the kids are that you're carrying around, and how the trailer is stored (outside vs. in a garage). I guess that means, I wouldn't really expect to get any more than 1000 miles out of it, maybe double that if the rides are primarily with smaller kids, over smoother surfaces, and the trailer is stored in a garage.

Maybe I'm wrong. Who knows. My kids will probably retire before I actually accumulate 1,000 miles on my bike so... take it for what it's worth. Maybe this super-simplistic hub assembly will last longer than my old cars. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Oh yeah!, March 28, 2011
By MamaDukes
I had a Trek bike trailer and sold it a few years ago when I thought my husband and I were finished having children. Upon the arrival of my son, we had to order another so we could continue to have family bike rides. I was VERY pleased with the trailer and the ease with which it went together. I would recomend this over and over again. It is nice to see that you don't have to spend a ton of money to get something good. My little guy falls asleep EVERY TIME he rides in it. I should have purchased this instead of the crib!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love, love, love..., March 14, 2011
By Domestic*Madness (San Tan Valley, AZ)
I've pondered purchasing a bike trailer for several years and my only regret is not purchasing this model sooner. I was hesitant to get one that does not boast a molded seat since my children are on the larger size for a bike trailer (4 and 6) and I feared they wouldn't be comfortable. But then again, knowing I'll only be able to use this for a short time (especially with my 6yo who *does* ride her own bike most of the time) I was resistant to spending close to $200 or more to get one with a molded seat! I decided to give this one a try since the pricetag was reasonable given the occasional use I have planned for it (once a week or so).

It was very easy to assemble (my 12yo did it for me, husband double-checked assembly to be safe) and very easy to attach to my bike (I did this myself and was pleased to not have to ask my husband for help). It was comfy for the kiddos except the 6yo (45" and 55 pounds) does not fit in the 5-point harness but 4yo (45# and 42") fit perfectly. (Note we are at the end of the 100# weight limit with these two in it together.) They complained of being too warm when they were together (it was about 78 degrees and very sunny) but my 4yo was perfectly comfy temp-wise when he road in it alone (they get a nice breeze if you have the front vinyl panel up (they are still protected by a mesh "window").

Riding my bike with it attached, plus 100# of kiddos was only marginaly more difficult. The brakes and shocks seemed strained but my bike is 10 years old and of course this is no reflection on the quality of the trailer.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very good for the price, March 13, 2011
By Diosmaya
Knowing that I was only going to use this once in a while in the park, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money, and this was the best priced product I could find.

Assembling wasn't too much trouble (the hooking it up to my bike was the most difficult part, the instructions weren't that clear, so I attached the whole thing at the same time...whilst only at the end did I realize you can remove the cap from the cart end and attached that part to your bike, then hook the rest). Which makes it very easy to attach and detach.

I have a 3 year old which is 36 inches tall and about 36 pounds. What I really liked about this one is that it has 3 seating positions. So you can have two kids side by side or you can have one kid and he can seat in the middle (there is an extra strap holder so fit it that way, so she does not have to go on one side or the other).

You can adjust the "seat" by tightening the straps underneath it, so it is not too saggy.

I took it for a test ride and of course my 3 year old loved it, she was giggling all the way (never know how long the excitement would last, but looks like this one is a winner). We picked up her friend along the street (another 3.5 year old about an inch shorter) and they both fitted just find, if snuggly, in the cart.

It is very stable, you can turn pretty fast and it holds well, it's not as hard to pull as I would have thought.

Quality seems pretty decent, I don't know how long the fabric would last (it does not look like the sturdiest thing ever, but I'm hoping it'll last).

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Does the job well (note: flag included), August 18, 2011
By Peter (New York, NY United States)
Not quite as comfortable as the Trek trailer my brother has, as there's no real seat, so kids' legs go straight out. The top doesn't go quite as high either, so perhaps not as safe in a roll-over. But, it worked well for <30minute rides with a 2-5 year-olds, and it towed smoothly on roads and paved trails.

Pros:
* Fits 2 young kids fairly comfortably.
* Nice that it clips a single child in the middle.
* Decent space for groceries, etc
* Tows well
* Minutes to install

Cons:
* Seats probably not comfortable for a 1hr+ ride
* No bar for the kids to step on-- need to get them to scoot in and out

It's a great buy for the price.

Note that this does come with a flag, which the pictures didn't show when I bought it. So I ended up wasting money on a second flag.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome!, August 8, 2011
By A. Rieschl
I purchased this trailer after shopping around a lot and decided this was the best for the money, and it really is. My husband had no issues putting it together, and had it out of the box and kids in it riding around in half an hour flat.
My boys had a little issue getting used to being so close to each other, but the narrowness of this trailer is part of what makes it so nice, and can easily fit down any sidewalks in my neighborhood.
I also love the color and the storage in the back. Perfect trailer for the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love it! Even for a bigger child, May 7, 2011
By Owen's mom (Portland, OR)
First, assembly: So easy to assemble I could do it myself (even though I am not very mechanical) with my 2 kids crawling all over me and it in about 15 minutes.
Second, use: I find it very easy to pull and we have no problems! I am only taking it on paved paths. I haven't tried trails.
Finally, does the kid like it: I bought this to use with my 5 year old (and super tall) Autistic son. It is plenty big for him, although we could not fit a second child in there without it being extremely snug. And because of his disability I wasn't sure if it would be a success or scare him. He loves it. As soon as we had it set up he crawled in and waved "bye-bye".

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Certainly worth what I paid for it., July 27, 2011
By Derpity herp derp. (Houston, TX USA)
The Good:

Versatile - The cover can be rolled up, closed, or in my case I didn't even bother putting the cover on since it was a sunny day.

Easy - Once you set this thing up the first time and get familial with it the next time is a breeze (especially if you skip the cover)

Pulls easily - out of the people I bike with I'm easily the strongest/fastest. When I pulled this trailer I still found myself having to slow down and wait on them on both straightaways and uphill. (I had a single 53 lb kid in the trailer - he's nearly biking on his own but still not up for the long rides)

"Trunk Area" - there's an area behind the seat I can put my backpack in so I don't have to wear it and the kid can't mess with it. I keep a few "just in case" tools in there anytime I ride more than a couple of miles.

The Bad:

Not 100% universal - I'm a BMX guy overall, but I do use a "town bike" when I take family cruises sometimes, and it's the one I used to pull the trailer with. My town bike has a 3-Speed Shimano gear hub, and if you know anything about gear hubs they require a non-turn washer Nexus/Alfine Track-type Dropout Left Non-turn Washer, 6L White. The "hitch receiver" that comes with this unit comes with its own non-turn washer for the receiver which is meant for any bike but one like mine. I simply put it over my non-turn and torqued it down hard, it's unable to lock as it should since my washer has to stay on.

The cover is a bit of a pain to deal with, the little straps to roll up the windows with aren't that great, Velcro would be better, but as I mentioned above, just not putting it on is certainly an option.

If you're a serious take the kids with you one the bike and bike everywhere type or a serious bike trail camper get something better, but for the weekend cruiser and occasional user this thing is great and can't be beat at the price point.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Terrific for the price!, July 11, 2011

Yes, "for the price". As with all my reviews, I want to qualify "what it is" vs. "what it isn't" so that potential buyers can put it in a frame of reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  what a ride!, November 7, 2010
By Jo
this trailer is the best! My grandkids love it so much. It is so easy to transport because it folds down flat and the wheels just pop off and lay on top. Everything folds! Once we figured out how to attach the coupling to the wheel of my bike, it was a piece of cake. The ONLY bummer about this trailer is that my grandkids are going to outgrow it before it wears out.
Definitely cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for the price, April 17, 2011
By happycampers
I have been very happy with this trailer. My twin 14 month old boys enjoy it. The trailer was very easy to assemble. Like all instructions read it completely first then go back and assemble. I possibly over inflated one of the tires and the tube blew. It has plastic rims so that broke as well. I called the company and they sent me a new wheel assembly and extra tire and tube no questions asked. It was here within a week. Which is saying a lot since we live on an island in Alaska. They recommend that you fill the tube to 20-25psi instead of 35psi as stated on the tire. Great product and great company!

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Tubes in both tires blew after second use, April 19, 2012
By ASP_NET_Dev
I purchased this bicycle trailer about a month ago. I took my 3 year old for a ride around the neighborhood twice, and when I went to take it out a third time I realized that the tubes in both tires were flat. Our neighborhood has pretty well maintained pavement, so this trailer should have been able to handle it.

I called the number on the box and they had me read the "date code" from the side of the trailer, and when I told them about the problem they sent me replacement tubes no questions asked. Customer service was great but I got the distinct impression that they had heard this complaint before...

I just replaced the tubes this evening so I have no idea whether they will last. We are going to try to make do for now.

Easy set up, feels stable behind the bike, and my two toddlers loved it.
Great deal, stop looking, hit add to cart and thank me later!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Outdoor Fun, October 25, 2011
By NC65
I got a great deal on this two seat bike trailer, which is why I purchased it from among many different options. It seats two children or you can put one child in the center. I started using this when my son was 10 months old, so he was fairly small. He fell asleep halfway through our first bike ride and slumped over quite a bit. The next time we went out I put two large stuffed animals on either side of him so that he would rest on them instead and that seemed to mostly solve the problem (although I had to adjust the animals several times). It glides smoothly, I like the netted bug guard in front and you can also pull down the clear top flap which will keep out rain, etc. Break down and set-up are both simple enough.

This is a very nice bike trailer. Easy to assemble. Easy to hook up to a bike. Easy to fold down for storgae. It rides well and my son enjoys being in it. It didn't get five stars as when it arrived there was some stitching that was already coming apart (on the flag holder so not critical area, thus did not bother to return it).

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Just what we were looking for, September 14, 2011

After renting a bike trailer on vacation, we ordered this one on our way home. The reviews were great and I have to agree. It's comfortable for the kids (4 years and 18 months), relatively lightweight, and sturdy. We use it mostly on paved paths and have gone up to 10 miles in one trip with the trailer with no issues whatsoever.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Do I really need another gadget?, September 4, 2011
By Louis P White
Cute litle thing. Relatively easy to assemble. My bike did not have the right connection to easily use the thing. An easy-release axle is not quite the right thing for the coupler. We tried to make do, but bent the connector a bit with the first use. I'll find a way to adapt. The bottom of the carriage is a bit flimsy, too. I was afraid the chld's bottom would somehow scrape the street. Overall, it's pretty much a little used addition to the gadgets already sitting in the yard.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Don't spend more money. Get this one!, August 24, 2011
By CHIN SONU (So CAL)
This is an excellent bike trailer. I had my six and three year olds in it, pulled them through a 10+ mile ride and worked great. It was surprisingly easy to pull, considering I had over 70+ lbs in the trailer. It is easy to assemble, and store. The wheels come off easy, and the trailer gets flat in less than 10 seconds. There is no need to spend more money for this! Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  InStep Take 2 Double Bicycle Trailer, August 22, 2011
By CincyChic
This is a great product. This was so easy to put together, and just as easy to take apart. I bought this for my one year old and my 3 year old, and they fit just fine. I really do not even feel like I am pulling anything. This is also great for the money. Other places you will pay a lot more. If you are looking for something like this, this is your product. My kids love it and I can enjoy riding my bike!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great way to take the dogs along on a bike ride, August 15, 2011
By dog lover (Lancaster, NY USA)
The trailer needed some basic assembly, which luckily my husband did! We did need to add air to the tires and had a minor problem with a snap on the cover that had arrived damaged. It was very quickly replaced at no cost, no questions asked. This is great value for the money--compare the cost of trailers to those at Target or Walmart--and you'll see. My dogs love going along for the ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product., August 8, 2011
By Heather
I have looked at a lot of trailers before deciding on this one. It is just what I was after. I have a 4 and 2 year old and they fit in there nicely. They like the fact that there are pockets for their drinks in the side compartment just for them. It was easy to put together and the colors are different than the others out there. It is lightweight and easy to pull even with a weight load of 75 lbs. (both kids put together. It is attractive and easy to put install onto bike. Great product at an awesome price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Daughter loves it, July 27, 2011
By Nule
I'm trying to bike more for exercise, and I love spending time with my little girl, so this seemed a good way for me to do both. She's 19 months and really gets a kick out of going around the neighborhood. I was surprised at how little difference that the weight of she and the trailer made to my biking experience. I'm certainly a bit slower, but most of that is due to being cautious rather than the extra weight. One thing to keep in mind is that bike brakes typically aren't great to begin with and this probably adds at least 50lb or more (given the number of kids and their size) to your stopping weight. That's more a complaint about physics than this product, which I found to be well constructed, easy to use, and great fun for us both.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  GREAT TRAILER, July 17, 2011
By ki (usa)
Every time we go out my 2.5 year old falls asleep in the trailer. If I knew he would love it so much I would've gotten this 2 years ago. I can finally bike again. It folds well and moves well. It's tall and roomy for one kid. For 2 kids would be tight unless they are less than 30lb each, I think. I can't really imagine 2 kids 50lb each in it,unless they really get along well.......still,may be in cold days only.
I definitely recommend it. Good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  light-weight trailer for two!, July 10, 2011
By C. Peterson (IL)
We love this trailer. My 2 children fit more than comfortably in it - one about 30 lb and one about 20 lb. It is very light-weight, I can easily pull it. It hooks up very easily, we can connect and reconnect to another bike in seconds (with a separately purchased attachment for 2nd bicycle, comes with attachment to first bicycle). Nice ride for the kids, 5-point harness for young children if you want, or 3-pt. We use it mostly on city streets, but it has held up well and is well-loved!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice quality AND price!!!, June 8, 2011
By Jessie (Wadsworth, OH)
I LOVE this trailer!!! It sets up easily and the instructions are simple. Only problem was getting the bolt off my back bike wheel to connect the trailer connector adapter piece (wouldn't be a problem if I had one of the nicer quality bikes that have the pop off back wheels). But the trailer is great especially for the price! Nice attractive blue color with gray frame, good storage, sturdy design, folds up easily and compactly, light weight, sets up quickly, etc... LOVE IT!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great trailer for the price!, May 24, 2011
By Illinikayaker
This is the perfect trailer for what most people use a bike trailer for.... casual riding, biking to a farmers market, using on vacation, etc. and for the price, you can't beat it!

The InStep brand is actually made by Schwinn. The trailer was incredibly easy to set up. I literally took it out of the box, flipped up the sides, stuck the wheels on and it was practically ready to go. It has a good ventilation system and back vents to avoid the "parachute effect" when pulling it.

The downsides are that it would be a tight fit for two children old enough to ride in a bike trailer (at least 1year old and always wearing a helmet!!), particularly on a hot day. But, I don't think that's a fault of the product so much as a reality of how much space is practical to have in a trailer made to fit on an average width sidewalk. It's nice that by adjusting the straps it can accommodate one child as well, and in that configuration there's lots of room.

I gave it 4 stars just because I felt that the construction of the weather flap could have been done a little bit better. It's a very tight fit and I feel like where it snaps to the frame the material is under quite a bit of strain and might be prone to tearing around the snaps. We found though that if only the front and back snaps are snapped, it still fits on perfectly well and that alleviates some of the tension in the material.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Addition!, May 13, 2011
By Russ (Indiana)
After many reviews and a lot of research, I chose this item. My 4 year old is not big enough to ride with us on "road" bike rides and is too big for a child seat attached to the back of my bike. She is not a good candidate for the tow behind either! So, a trailer it is. I chose this one due to the reviews as well as the 100 lb limit in case one of my other kids wants to ride with the 4 yr old or if we want to use it to tow a cooler or something.

Very easy to assemble, no tools required except to attach to your bike. Attaching to the bike is easy and also includes secondary safety straps. Very sturdy. Especially liked the air tires in lieu of the "stroller" plastic tires. This makes for a very smooth ride for my little one. She loves being in it and being able to have the canopy open or closed. With it open it makes her feel like she is more out there with us. It even comes with a orange safety flag!

Overall, easy to assemble, easy to store, easy to tow, safe and secure! A great addition to any biking family!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Bicycle Trailer!, May 11, 2011
By Momof2
We purchased two new bicycles for our anniversary this year and were on the hunt for a great way to allow our two children (2 and 5 yrs old) to accompany us on bicycle rides. Our 5 year old loves to ride along on her own bicycle but she can't keep up for any extended period of time, so longer rides were out unless we found something that would work for both children. We researched many bicycle seats and trailers and found this one to be a safe option and a great value for the money.
Upon receiving the trailer, we were able to assemble it and attach it to my husband's bicycle in less than 15 minutes. It was super easy and also folds back up without a problem so we can get it in the back of our van and transport it to the park. The trailer is sturdy, even with both children inside, and while they don't have a whole lot of "wiggle room" it does allow ample space for both children. They love riding behind Daddy and even our 2 year old (who is a "complainer" in most strollers and the carseat) doesn't complain at all. I can't comment on how this trailer would handle on rough terrain because we mostly stick to paved paths, but on paved paths it handles without a problem and you barely know it's there (except up a few steeper hills, but that's to be expected). We have tried it out on a bit of grassy area and didn't have any problem with it there. Overall I can't think of any real complaints about this trailer and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Use it every weekend, April 3, 2011
By ~A~
This trailor works great. We have twins that are 4 and thought we would be able to fit them both in while biking. They fit but it is a tight squeeze. We needed up purchasing the another of the trailors so now we each tow one kid. This is alot easier then one person carry all the extra weight. The only complaint I have is I wish the seatbeats were a little bit longer then they are. Easy to put together and the bracket that goes on your bike was easy to install.

We purchased this for our son's first birthday but started taking him for rides as soon as it came in. He loves it! It was very easy to assemble and hook up to our bicycles. Seems to be very high quality, and the resistance from pulling the trailer when you're peddling is minimal. Definitely recommended!

1.0 out of 5 stars.  CAN'T BUY REPLACEMENT PARTS?!?, August 11, 2011
By sharbear
I purchased an InStep bike trailer 2-3 years ago. I've moved twice since and misplaced the front wheel. I called to buy a new one, and since they have a newer model of the bike trailer out now, I can no longer buy the wheel for my bike trailer. Apparently whenever they upgrade their models, you can no longer buy replacement parts for the older ones. So NOT worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Why doesn't it come with the attachment coupling?, January 11, 2012
By L. MINICK
I think it is a good product and even great in regards to the pricing.
What I don't get is why it does not come with the "Coupler Attachment" (InStep & Schwinn Bike Trailers) as it is USELESS without it! I had to wait another week before we could start using the trailer.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great deal, January 5, 2012
By Tristan (Cupertino,CA)
This trailer is simple, cheap and really good enough. It's manufacture quality is good, although I can imagine more expensive ones would offer better.
But if you're looking for a reasonably priced trailer that does the job perfectly for a 3 years old, this stuff you for you. From what I tried, I can imagine I'll be able to use it for 2 or 3 years (when my son will be 5 / 6 years old) : the dimensions of the trailer should still be good.

- no friction anywhere that would give me hard time to bike. I could ride at 14Mph to even 19mph with no issue. I could go faster but maybe not a good idea...
- The connection to the bike is easy to handle.
- The wheels are good quality
- The frame seems solid, too

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Everything I hoped for!, December 11, 2011
By Lion Wolf
I purchased this bike trailer to transport my groceries and it works perfectly! I did not need any tools to assemble the trailer right out of the box! I went to my grocery store and easily packed $150 of groceries into my trailer and was amazed at how ingenius and efficiently the coupling assembly performed! The coupling assembly was included. I had a wonderfully smooth ride all the way home and did not have to rely or inconvinience anyone for the 1st time in years. Thank you Pacific Cycle!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LOVE THIS BIKE TRAILER!, January 17, 2012
By Mommy of four
I bought this for my husband to use so he can pick up my 3 year old son from pre-school. My two year old daughter goes along for the ride as well and they absolutely love it! It holds both my kids just fine with comfortable space. If your not in shape pulling the extra weight might take a bit to get use to but most of the weight comes from my two kids of course. It's light weight and easy to assemble. I've only had it for about a month but so far we are very happy with our purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Marvelous!, October 19, 2011
By Torry Norling
This trailer is a marvel of effective and efficient engineering. Light weight, sturdy, collapsible, with ingenious bug screens, rain protection, safety features and comfort features. Every time I hitch it up I'm reminded once again how great this trailer is. My 2 1/2 year old girl loves to ride in it. We use it 4-5 times a week here in Florida. It even has at trunk so we can go shopping and bring home a couple bags of groceries. Best investment I've made in a long, long time. It helps keep me fit and gives my daughter and me some play time together when I get home from work.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Exactly what I expected!, September 18, 2011
By SuperMommy2009
So I'll be honest in admitting I was afraid I wasn't going to get the product I was expecting in ordering this but I was so wrong. ITS GREAT! Couldn't ask for a nicer product for the price. Its perfect for my 27month old son, He is extremely tall for his age and he fits with extreme ease and even a little extra leg room. I have started using this 4 times a week (as my car died) to take my son around our little town and to/from work. It's is SUPER easy to use, I set it up with ease and took maybe 10 mins. The materials are strong, not the highest of quality but definitely worth the price. I expect this trailer to last years considering we take good care of it. Trust me when I say, its a great product and loads of fun for the whole family.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good for the money, July 30, 2011
By gregory fillmore
This is a good trailer and very safe. I am specially impressed with the harnesses. both of our twins fit into this just fine. We also have another trailer for our older son. These trailers are far safer than any other product for bringing your child along. I only gave this one four stars because their are much nicer ones out there but this one works just fine and is affordable. Built well except for the top does not fit very well and has to be pulled tight in order to button it on but the rest of the unit is solid. Also, the wheels are small but that only means that it rides lower to the ground. Oh ya, don't over inflate the tires.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Satisfied for the price, June 20, 2011
By alli
I researched quite a bit before purchasing a trailer for my 2 kids, ages 3 & 1. It is a snug fit for the children, and it took a few rides for them to get used to it, but now they both seem to enjoy the ride. I am impressed with how the unit handles city riding....we can comfortably make turns and fit on the sidewalk so long as they are not too crowded. My only complaint is that the fabric is very light weight, and after the first few days of riding we already have a small tear in the fabric. Thankfully it is not in a weight bearing location therefore I have not noticed the tear increasing in size. Another detail that differs from more expensive trailers, is the absence of a recessed pocket behind the shoulder straps where the back of the helmet can rest. When the children fall asleep, their heads tend to fall forward, and so I am still working on a comfortable solution for longer rides.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good so far!, May 25, 2011
By lapc (Montana, USA)
Love the window with the cover so baby won't get wet or too cold on those windy days. Only wish that the side windows would open. But I guess then kids would try to climb out. Back small window does lift for some extra air flow. Safe harnesses. I guess it would be a little cramped for 2 toddlers. But I use it for one so it's been fine. Easy set-up. At a great price, since there are tons of these at $100 plus out there and this cost much less.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not Perfect, But Solid Economical Buy, May 20, 2011
By Kevin M. Fulbright (Miami, FL)
I take my 21-month old son on rides in the InStep trailer. For his added comfort, I added a seat cushion (like the ones you take to baseball games for bleacher sitting) under his tush and that works out great especially since the trailer has an area where you can easily add it. The trailer offers plenty of space inside of it. He seems to love every ride and the venthilation through it works well. I keep it in the garage when not in use to protect it from weather (sun) wear that would erode most products anways.

The positives outweight the negatives, but those negatives are: No shock absorption in the suspension system, so be careful and mindful of your cargo when on shaky terrain. The seatbelt straps are poor quality and irritate my son's skin around his neck. Reminds me of the straps used on most lifejacket preservers. I just run the belt along his waist and do not worry about the shoulder harness area until I can make arrangements otherwise with maybe some cloth wrapped around the area that makes contact with this neck.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great product, May 15, 2011
By Jessica
I have been had this for a couple weeks know and love it! Easy assembly and the kids love it. It definatly adds a workout. I use this for my 4yr old daughter who is 33 lbs and my 2yr old son who is 30lbs. It is a bit snug with both the kids but nothing they complain about. The only complaint I have is that it is short and my daughter can't completly straighten her legs out. Other than that issue we love it, my husband and I take turns pulling them and enjoy the family time.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy to put together, hard to fit two kids in it though, May 2, 2011
By Happy Momma (Gainesville, FL)
This product is well made, easy to use, and rides smoothly. However, my daughter is only 2 years old and even at 18 months, the seatbelts were almost too small for her (short). We probably only have another couple of months before we won't be able to snap the buckles anymore. And with a second baby on the way, we were hoping this could fit both of our kids for a while...

I bought this bike trailer for my wife to take our daughter around. They both love it a lot. Some of our friends have the more expensive ones, and we've tried those out before we bought. I think it's ease of use is just as good, and very smooth ride. It breaks down for travel pretty good also.

this item was delivered ahead of the scheduled time (smile!!). Package was intact and compact. The price was as stated, making it cheaper than any local department store or sporting goods business.
It is a very good item, no problems during assembly or breakdown for storage. if you need more stability on the clamp assembly, use a piece of rubber tube to make it more stable. It works perfect on my hybrid, or mountain bike.
I recommend this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  One of the best products for the price I can imagine, May 18, 2012
By jimporter
Had it for about 2 weeks now....taking it everywhere. Taking 2 kids regularly...about 85 pounds total. Kids love it. I love it. We go up steep hills and all over some bumpy parks etc.

Just an amazing product that I would have considered a steal at 2-3X the $80 price.

Had to take a grinder to the coupling for it to fit my GT Traffic but that took about 30 seconds of actual work at the most....and I have never used a grinder until then.

But BUYER BEWARE - the hitch mount (coupler) does not fit on newer or higher end bicycles! I have a Felt X-City bike and a Giant STP Dirtjumper and my wife has a Felt Cafe and the coupler/hitch mount does not fit on our bikes. I was told by customer service at Pacific Cycles that the "universal" coupler is made for their bikes (Pacific, Schwinn, Mongoose, etc.), or bikes with the old-school type of rear wheel dropout. I did some online research and found out that others have either paid 2-3 times more for an expensive brand that really is universal-mounting, modified the hitch themselves, or paid a little extra to attach another "universal hitch". Since I am not willing to shell out $300+ on a trailer that will be used sparingly, and I am terrible at tinkering with things (plus I question the structural integrity of a self-modified part), I ended up buying the Michelin Avenir Axle Mount Bicycle Trailer Replacement Hitch on Amazon for about $12, as recommended by a bike forum post. Hopefully that will solve our problem with attaching this bike trailer. We hope it works with our bikes because it is a nice-looking, solid bike trailer with good reviews from most. I will re-post a review once I get the new part.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  perfect for a leisurely ride, May 18, 2012
By briecheese
I bought this item to use with my 11 month old son and we love it. Im not an adventerous bike rider, I only travel on paved surfaces and the trailer is great. Its a smooth ride and sturdy. Also it fits perfectly on the sidewalks in our neighborhood.
My son weighs 22lbs and is average height and he has no problems fitting comfortable inside the trailer. Also there is a mesh in the front and back that you can open or close. We keep both open so my son gets a nice breeze and never overheats.

Ive seen negative reviews citing problems with quality but it sounds like the ones writting those reviews are expecting much more out of the product, as they are advid bike riders. You have to keep in mind, you do get what you pay for and if you are not planning on going on 10mile bike rides daily or taking it on rough pavements then you should not experience any issues. Also Ive read people talking about the bottom sagging and I wonder if they did not realize that you can tighten the seating area. My sons bottom was sagging the first use and then my husband tightened it and now he sits flat in the trailer.

Overall I love the trailer and It is perfect for my needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Quality, May 18, 2012
By JShizzel
We have had this item for roughly 4-6 weeks. We use it to go on bike rides with our 18month daughter. She loves it. Even more importantly is that this product is sturdy (handles bumps and rough road very well) and durable (no wear and tear or sagging in the fabric). We are very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to other parents.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not compatible with my bike, May 16, 2012
By whysofma (Boston, MA)
I have a GT "urban" series bike and this trailer is incompatible with it. I'm might try and grind down the attaching piece to fit my bike's frame - it's about 4mm of steel that needs to go. I could also return the trailer - I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  It's ok., May 14, 2012

The trailer works great and is really easy to assemble. The only problem is the quality. I have got about 18 miles on it pulling my 2 1/2 and 1 year old. The elastic that is a part of the snap on cover is pulling completley away from the fabric. Luckily for me my wife is a wonderful seamstress and will make a new cover or fix this one. But we shouldn't have to worry about that. Stuff should just last. I guess the 6 year old boy in China was having a bad day when he made my trailer. The trailer is a tight fit for 2 small kids and I notice that it does get pretty warm in it also.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Almost perfect, May 2, 2012
By owup74 (APO Korea)
I bought this trailer at our Post eXchange in Yongsan AG Korea because my wife and I love ridding bikes and had a kid and wanted to get back into ridding. Really did not want a child seat since kids are notorious for moving around and ridding a 29er you would feel it.

The positives:

Tows like a beauty did not even notice it behind me except for breaking due to the extra weight
Light and easy to fold and assemble.
Air flow is good our son loved it after the second ride (the first ride did not go as planed because we have the child seat harness set to high which taught us our first lesson..(do a pre-fit with the child before taking it out for a ride)
When we let our son visit his grand parents was easy to remove the fabric from the top bar and drop it for cargo purposes when we used the bikes for shopping and once our son is grown and ridding his bike we plan to convert it to a cargo trailer.
Most of the Koreans were looking it in aw asking where to get one (you know this could be a market for them to move into).
Our son really enjoys it now

Things that need improvement:

Fabric was tight to fasten to snaps where maybe one day the fabric will give in and will have to replace it
Would be nice if they had in the manual the part number for the stroller kit and where to order it
It would also be nice if more storage compartments for kids drinks and food could be placed in it
Lastly could use more storage space in the back or if InStep could make a trailer that's longer and can fit 2 kids plus maybe allow expansion for cargo space since we like to bike to a couple camp grounds.

Aside from that over all its a great trailer and our son loves it now and its done just about everything we have asked of it.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Overall Happy With Purchase, April 23, 2012
By kelly
Bike trailer works great. Only issue is that the info online said it holds up to 100 lbs. When we got the trailer, the new limit on the packaging was 80 lbs. Since we are completely relying on this holding two children, that was a bit disappointing.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  My 2 year old loves it, April 22, 2012
By Nicole M. Haskin
I really like this trailer. My 2 year old daughter fits well in the middle seat and is very easy to adjust to one rider. We bought a small travel pillow and placed it under the seat part to make the ride more comfortable and my fear of her butt hitting the ground. My husband just rolled his eyes and stated it would not happen but to be on the safe side we bought a pillow. The seat is adjustable and we did adjust it.

My bike has a quick release back tire and we had problems getting the coupler to work on my bike. But there were no issues with the coupler working on my husband's bike that does not have a quick release tire. We are going to a local bike shop to see if they have something that will work. The trailer tracks behind the bike really well and you can't really tell you are pulling something. Great value for the price.

We also bought the cling that you put on car windows and super glued it to the side windows of the trailer to block some of the sun out. Makes the ride cooler for the child. If I did it again I would glue to the inside and not the outside didn't really think that one through but oh well. I will probably buy a battery operated fan when it gets warmer.

Trailer folds down and the wheels are easy to remove with a push of a button and it fits into the trunk of my '04 Cavalier. Also we can fit a regular size diaper bag behind the child seat for trips or 2-3 grocery bags for a trip to the store.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Exactly what I expected, April 19, 2012
By M
We purchased this for our 20 month old daughter while I was expecting. We loved that it can hold 2 kids, but can also work for just 1. The set up was easy, directions were easy to understand. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish.

It folds up very compact, considering how large it is set up. It's really easy to disassemble for storage, as well.

The most time consuming thing was getting it hooked to the bike. We have an older bike style; it took a few times looking at the bike for us to figure out the best way to attach it.

Our daughter loves it. She is able to sit in the middle and still reach the side pouches, where we put her sippy cup and snacks. She especially loves that the seat she sits on "moves" with the movement of the bike. She sways on the turns and gets jostled a bit over bumps (however, not enough to be damaging or to make me nervous in any way). As far as safety goes, she was in the trailer when we had the bike being supported by the kickstand. The bike fell over, but the trailer stayed! She didn't move a bit!

3.0 out of 5 stars.  The seat is awful, but the rest is ok., April 15, 2012
By C. May (MT)
Bought this on a budget, so it was nice, light and portable. Everything seemed fine on it and my daughter rode in it for short trips, but the seat is basically a sling for the kid to sit on. There is no support for the bottom at all. I would not recommend it at all for longer rides.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great value, April 15, 2012
By Shawn
My wife just bought this for me for my birthday this weekend. I put it together and had it on the bike in about 20 minutes (taking my time). It is well built and well thought out. My daughter who is 14 months old went on a ride while it was attached to my mountain bike and had a grand old time.

My only complaint is that I think the seatbelt system for the child to be secured could be more heavy duty or more stable. She was able to wiggle out of the shoulder straps. Great product for the money though. We are on a tight budget and spending $400 on a high end brand was not an option. While riding with the rig behind me you definitely need to be in good shape. I own a gym and ride all the time so the extra weight was no big deal for me but I could definitely feel it on the hills. Walking around with a baby stroller is too boring for me so this is a great option to spend time with my daughter while getting some exercise and fresh air.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Bike Trailer, April 12, 2012
By pdecker (OH)
I purchased this bike trailer for my father so that he could use it to take the grandkids on bike rides. He has three grandsons, all under the age of two. This trailer is great because of its ability to fit two kids in it. The buckles and straps allow for the trailer to hold two kids in side-by-side, or one child in the middle. The trailer only comes with one bike mount, so if you are like my parent, who both like to ride, you may want to puchase an extra mount. Coupler Attachment - InStep & Schwinn Bike Trailers This would allow you to use either bike to haul the trailer. This is great for longer rides. There is a local bike path that my parents ride on, as the trailer comes, my dad is the only one that can haul the kids, but with the extra mount he could pull the out and my mother could pull them back on the return trip. If you only have one bike, this ins't a problem at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best Trailer for the Price!, April 7, 2012
By Gecko Girl
I bought this trailer used at a rummage sale. The previous owners had it for 10+ years and stored it outside for many of those years. Needless to say we paid much less than retail price. Other than the faded material this trailer is in great shape! We take it out for rides as soon as the temps are in the 50's in Spring and continue to use it until about the first frost (we're in WI). We've taken it on paved roads, packed earth trails and paved bike paths and have never had a problem. The bottom can be tightened for heavier children so they don't hit their butts on the ground.

My husband even took some old ski's, a snowboard and some 2x4's and converted it into a winter trailer to take through our local parks when he plays disc golf. He's even installed a platform on the back so he could ride it down small hills with our son!

I've been thinking about replacing our current one with a newer model just because the material is red and badly faded. Other than the cosmetic issues there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this trailer. It's currently with its second family and I'm fairly sure we'll be able to pass it along to another family once out son out grows it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Baby trailer, March 23, 2012
By cprossa
This trailer works great! We go riding a couple times a week and this trailer is fast to put together and take apart. There were a couple of reviews on here about the temperature getting too hot in the trailer but you can take off the plastic top and the temperature is just fine. I have been extremely pleased with this product.

Very easy to use, folds up conviently... absolutly worth the money! We love it! Our toddler fits in it comfortably, he even fell asleep in it, and this boy is very stubborn! I love the extra storage space behind the seat as well... very well built.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice Trailer for kids.., March 11, 2012
By papa09
Just tried this trailer today and it was easy getting it assembled as well as getting it on the bike. My 4 yr old daughter fits inside just fine and got some space for her stuff toy, she said she likes riding on it. I asked her if she's comfortable inside and she said she's ok. The material used looks sturdy but like the other reviews it's kinda soft at the seating and just needed to be adjust but for my daughter it's not a big problem. The cover keeps her protected from dust and other debris and also let her view everythign around, it's well attached to the bike so there won't be any problem of it falling. Overall we like the instep trailer and will use it everyday.
