I cringed paying twice the amount as I had paid for the other helmets in the local stores. Once I got it, I know why! It is SO MUCH nicer than the cheapo ones my kids already had. Fits well and doesn't seem to be as hot as the ones that have the spongy insides. I plan to purchase another for my other child since the one that came with her bike was too small for her head. I would recommend for sure.

This helmet was the best I have found for a youth helmet. It has flashing lights on the back of the helmet. Unfortunately, it didn't fit my daughters head so I had to send it back. She is 9, so I had to go with the next size. I was very disappointed that I couldn't find one that remotely compared to this one. Once you have the style and the flashing lights...it's hard to compromise on another.

I bought 2 of these helmets for my 6 and 3 year old grandkids. The oldest wanted the red flame and the youngest wanted the skunk helmet. Both are very colorful and fun. They love the blinkers and show them to whoever happens by. They must be comfortable because they wear them all the time when they ride their bikes. I search all over for the lowest prices and Amazon had the best. Only downfall was that I paid more for the helmets than I did for the 2 used bikes.

 Excellent helmet, but SMALL! Child size, NOT 8+ Youth size., June 21, 2011

I ordered this for my 7 year old, being that it is a "youth" helmet, to replace his child's size helmet that was getting too small. I assumed that "youth" meant the general 8+ size range that Bell has for its youth line. However, this is NOT a youth helmet. This is CHILD size. My 7 year old can't even begin to get it onto his head. It is SMALLER than his current little boy 5+ Spider Man helmet. The box that it arrived in said, "Kid's helmet" and had cutesy cartoon pictures of little kids on bikes. Unlike Bell's Youth line which is aimed at the pre-teen crowd and actually fits an 8+ head size. So, beware that this is not a YOUTH helmet as understood in conventional bike helmet size labels. This would be a 5+ helmet at a stretch, but it is very small.
That said, it is a FABULOUS helmet. He is so disappointed that we have to return it. It is sleek, well made, super stylish, easy to adjust, and has fantastic flashing lights at the back for safety. I absolutely love this helmet -- if only I had a 4 year old!
