4.0 out of 5 stars.  Bruiser cruiser. nice fenders, but 7 speed install tricky, June 29, 2010
By R4noff (Peoria, IL)
Bought these to put on a large Firmstrong bruiser cruiser. First, the picture is wrong, everything that came in my delivery was black, except for the little nuts and bolts. The fenders are nice and wide and fairly sturdy. After assembling the fenders with the u shaped supports, one would think that the end of the supports would go on the outside of the forks after the wheel is in place. Not so, the fender goes on the tire and rim before it's inserted into the frame. Remove your brake arms first. The front wheel is a snap but if you have a 6 or 7 speed socket, and derailleur in the rear it will take some patient finagling to get it all in place. On my bruiser the brakes when applied would squeeze the fender before touching the rim. This was easily remedied by exchanging the two different spacers places on the brake pad post. put the thick one on the inside of brake arm and thin on on the outside. That solves the problem. I just had to have the 7 speed! If one bought a single or internal 3 speed bike, installation would be a snap. I also bought wider fat frank tires that are 2.35" wide and the fenders fit with plenty of room to spare. The little silver tab in the picture is not silver and it's just the fender cut down to resemble a mounting bracket. I thought it was kind of a cheap manufacturing cop out, instead of a serious bracket, but it seems to be working fine! Black on black looks very good and retro.

Something to consider before beginning, take the little fender attachment bolts and go to a hardware store and buy some of those Teflon locking nuts, to replace the ones provided, that will probably rattle off one at a time and disappear. You'll need 8 of them. (probably under a buck)

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Cruiser Fenders, August 8, 2011
By Bus Lamp
These fenders came quickly and they are nice to look at. They were definitely old style cruiser fenders so are quite large. I placed these on an older Schwinn Hurricane 18 speed bike with 2.25X26 inch tires and had plenty of room to spare. The rear fender does have an indent for the chain but was not big enough for the 3 speed derailer. I just bent the lower end of the factory indent to open the space for the derailer. I also had to shorten the support bars front and back so it takes a little mechanical know how to make them work for my application. I say that if you purchase these for a real cruiser you won't be disappointed or have a lot of adjustments to make but regardless they are a nice quality fender and they worked for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  looks ince but no fun to install., August 15, 2010
By Ingrid V. (San Diego, CA)
the fenders are nice but the installation didn't go well. I have a 7 speed bike and that didn't make it any simpler. bottom line I like the fenders but don't like how they had to be attached.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Look great, no instructions, didn't fit, April 19, 2012
By Kevin C McGillivray (CA, United States)
My title basically says it all. I'm going to return these because the won't fit my bike. It's not the manufacturer's problem, though. I will say that the rear fender was bent in two places when it arrives so just be aware that these fenders will not hold up to any stress. Also, as another reviewer noted, the supports are black, not silver as shown in the product photo.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  No Instructions, Random Nuts and Bolts, May 3, 2012
By AG
Sadly I can't say if the product is worth the money. The fenders look nice out the box but first off I have to remove my wheels second I have no clue what bolts go where. Basically I install this and hope I used the right parts otherwise unscrew everything and start over. You can't say this is a simple install when there is a good chance of rework. Instructions can't cost that much more. Removing the wheels seems like a bigger annoyance so please include this in the description.
