3.0 out of 5 stars.  Better try fenders at your local bike shop if you can, September 20, 2011
By Greg Rabinovich (Rockville, MD USA)
For 12 bucks it is not much of a risk, so I decided to give these fenders a try. They came nicely packaged in a huge box (fit to ship a coffee table - what a waste of cardboard!). I had no trouble mounting a rear fender, but the front portion of the front fender appeared to press against tire no matter how I tried to mount it. I ended up sowing off the front 4 inches of the fender to prevent it from constantly rubbing against the tire. Once I did that, it all fit nicely and I don't think missing front tip of the fender will make much difference. Overall, the whole installation, including sowing took about 30 min. In fact, I rode it in the rain the following day and it seemed to work fine. However, if I had known these fenders won't fit 100%, I would have taken my bike to the bike shop to try various fenders and although I would have probably paid a few more $, I would not have had to deal with rigging them.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fits 27" Wheels, July 12, 2011
By gbunk
Used these on my 1989 Schwinn Voyageur with 27" wheels. I have a 27 x 1 1/4" on the front and a knobby 27" x 1 3/8" on the back (I was most concerned about the back.) Fenders worked well and held up for a 332 mile 5 day tour. I would not expect them to hold up if you plan to constantly take them on and off. They didn't make my bike look too bad either.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Didn't work for me, December 21, 2011
By Hugh Thompson (Ellicott City, MD United States)
I don't recommend these fenders.

My biggest problem with them was that I could not install the rear fender, because per the instructions it depended on there being a rear-facing hole in a crosspiece (near the rear brake), but my bike (a Trek 7200 hybrid) had only a frontward-facing hole in that crosspiece. I tried unsuccessfully to make the mounting bracket work with this but was never able to get the fender to stop dragging against my rear wheel. So I took it off.

The front fender installation went more successfully. However, both fenders seem sort of flimsy in construction, and I would expect the tube clips on the rear one to break fairly quickly if the fender was snapped on and off very often.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not Enough Coverage, December 20, 2011
By stillman
The front fender is OK but the rear fender is not long enough to keep water off my back. Installation was easy. They clip on and off the bike quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice Fenders!, November 25, 2011
By Nick C
I bought these for my Schwinn Trailway Hybrid 700C because I wanted to stop splashback when going through water or puddles. I also wanted a more finished look on the bike instead of "raw wheels". The installation took about a half hour because it required finding the right clip position for my bike, but seems to fit and work well so far. I took two rides ride so far and they are deflecting the water and holding solid in their position that I installed them in so I am happy so far. I think they look pretty good too and the price was reasonable (about $20.bucks with the shipping).

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Fine for the price, September 25, 2011
By Sam Clemens (Michigan)
The degree of protection and quality of mounting aren't great compared to more expensive fenders, but these are much better than nothing and certainly helpful in mildly wet conditions. It's easy to touch the front fender with your foot as you pedal, potentially causing it to fall off, but the back fender is more important anyway. If the rain is heavy enough that you need the front fender then you may want to get more complicated and expensive fenders. The rear rack on my bike probably protects the rear fender from getting pulled off.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Front fender a bargain, rear is hit & miss., August 2, 2011
By Goon (Long Island, NY)
I purchased this set to toss on my 2009 Specialized Vienna 2 commuter. The plastic feels cheap, but that also means it's lightweight.

The clipping system could be a little better/more intuitive. I suspect it will eventually break, especially because I have hands of stone, but for now it feels pretty sturdy. For the price, I am happy with what I got.

The front fender covers exactly where I would expect it to, clips on and off reasonably well, and looks like it will block rain and mud just fine.

The rear fender however does not extend back far enough to stop mud from splashing up. I had to mount the bracket to my rear reflector, instead of through the frame. If you can rig up a proper mounting point to get good coverage, these fenders are a pretty good value for the occasional rain/mud trip, or the occasional commuter. I will look for a more rugged back fender, but for now am satisfied with these.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Flimsy plastic, limited mounting hardware, May 22, 2011
By C. Brantner (Chicagoland)
I bought these for my Raleigh Misceo 2.0. The brackets and screws that came with it assume you have standard brakes to mount the brackets to. I have disc brakes on the Misceo, so I had to improvise the back bracket (bend it to the correct angle) because the screw hole I used was facing up/down (vertical) instead of front/back of the bike. If you have standard brakes mounted above the rear wheel the brackets will work fine. The plastic is not sturdy as their misleading description mentions. They appear to be functional enough to keep the rain from flying up, but I haven't tried them in the rain yet. If you have a frame pump mounted next to your seat bar bottle holder, the clip on the front of the back fender will not fit without some force applied to jam it in next to the pump mount.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Get what you pay for, December 26, 2011
By The Bike Guy
These were not that simple to install. Took me over 30 minutes to set just right. My really big compliant with these is that the rear fender is about 6 - 8" too short. If they just made them that much longer in the back, then they would've been ideal. The front one was a perfect fit, but just took forever trying to get it to set right. In the end, just wished I would've sprung for the better ones.
