Great entry level jersey, June 5, 2011
By Jeremy
|
|
I am new to road cycling and purchased this as my first jersey. I'm 5'10, 168lbs and purchased a medium. It fits snug, and has plenty of length in the back. It wicks away moisture very well and feels comfortable for the duration of any ride. I intend on atleast purchasing one more, possibly in a size large this time though just for a somewhat different appearance.

Solid Jersey, June 1, 2011
By rainmaker
|

Great jersey for a decent price. Fit is somewhat snug, but certainly not constrictive. I normally wear XL (with a 17 in neck) and ordered an XL. (I believe other reviewer with an 18" neck ordering an XL was off a size). These shirts are most likely designed to fit tight so when your moving at 15mph+ they don't act like a big sail holding you back. Bought the orange and was happy with appearance. Might not be a total fashion statement, but in the cyclist's world's context of tight, spandex-like shorts, don't think that should be a reason for significant detriment to ratings. My statement is more "Look at me so you don't hit me with your car" rather than, "Look at me, I'm beautiful"

Quality is fine, but sizes run small., May 28, 2010
By award-winning bozo (Phoenixville, PA USA)

The summary says it all - I ordered an XL shirt (I have a size 48 chest & a size 18 neck) and the result was just a little bit too snug - I feel like I'm on the verge of strangling when the shirt is zipped all the way up.

Decent price, fits well, May 3, 2011
By Musejam

I received this after 4 days; not a bad mail time. As with all bike jerseys, order a size up. I have an athletic build, but still found the fit to be fine, neither too snug nor too loose.
I don't know what the previous reviewer meant re its ugliness. Honestly, for the price, this is a good value, and in my opinion, the jersey I bought (blue with white stripes) is pretty striking.

Not a good fit for athletic builds, April 23, 2011
By Chris
|
|
This particular cut does not fit me very well at all: I have broad shoulders and a narrow waist (38 in chest/ 28 in waist) but didn't think that was strange for an athlete. This jersey is far too baggy around the waist and too small in the shoulders. If you have a more athletic build, consider the race cut jerseys, or else you will be very disappointed by the chafing and lack of wicking from a loose jersey.

Sizing Opinion, August 30, 2011
By Solarstrider (Houston, TX USA)
|
|
I ordered this after reading everyone's reviews suggesting to order one size up. I normally wear a small, so I thought I'd give the product reviewers a nod and order a medium. It was too small.
For the record, I'm ~155 lbs, very little body fat, 5 foot 11, and I wear pants/shorts with a 29 or 30 inch waist. The medium was all around too baggy for me. If it were a t-shirt it would be fine, but as what should be a fairly close-fitting jersey, it was just too baggy. I returned it and bought a small Pearl Izumi Men's Impact Jersey in white and black.
Otherwise the jersey was very nice. The length was ample in the front, the material was comfortable and conducive to airflow, and the construction seemed of quality.

The shoulder sections aren't so evidently ugly in the photo online, but when I got it in the mail, I nearly puked. Ugly.

Love this shirt, Love Amazon, June 30, 2011
By PLE
|
|
Because of Amazon's gracious no-risk return policy, I was able to find the size that finally fits perfectly.
As others have pointed out, you must order at least one size larger than normal. In my case, it was two sizes larger. I am 5'6" 165lb and I wear a small or medium golf shirt. The Medium Pearl Izumi Men's Quest Jersey was too small. Tight around my waist and arms.
So, I had to return for a large, which fits perfectly. Not only that, I had originally purchased the Pearl Izumi Men's Impact Jersey in Medium, which is a looser fit (for MTB bikes), and it fit perfectly as well.
So, I assumed that this Quest jersey would be the same. Do not assume. Even though it is the same sizing chart, the fit is totally different.
Again, Thank-you Amazon for allowing us to try some clothes risk-free. Otherwise, no way I'd be buying clothes on-line with the sizing charts as useless as they appear to be. No additional cost for the return. Happy customer.

This jersey will serve well for all applications,it is wise to size up if your slightly over weight for Pearl Izumi in my experience is a tad small if your chunky mediun go for a large and so on,be aware you will pay more @ the Bike Shop.

Well Made, Light Weight Jersey, July 15, 2011
By Timazon (Hauppauge, NY USA)
|
|
This is a very comfortable and lightweight jersey, perfect for summer riding.
The fabric is light and breathable, and the jersey runs true to size.
The left and right rear pockets are a little narrow, but that's the only shortcoming I found in this excellent jersey. The rear center pocket is wider than the left and right pockets.
Construction is very good, typical of Pearl Izumi, with a 3/4 length hidden zipper.
At around $30, this jersey is a real bargain.

Good Shirt, A little small, July 12, 2011

Overall I like the shirt a lot but for me it's a little too short. Maybe just not meant for us tall riders, I'm 6'4". Everywhere else it fits fine however.

Screaming Yellow, July 10, 2011
By Kinsykins
|
|
Wanted a BRIGHT jersey to be seen on the road. This fits the bill. Very high quality product - wicks moisture very well, and comfortable fit (not too small on the arms - there is no binding elastic like on some Pearl Izumi jerseys. This is not sized like a European cut - I wear an XL in Castelli, but the large here fit me perfectly. Highly recommended.

Great looking but......... I WILL NOT BUY THIS 3/4 style zip again, March 24, 2012
By Neon's Dad (So California)
|
|
The quality of the materials and the workmanship are excellent, size wise is so so, I'm 5'8" 153lb with 32 waist and I do have kind big shoulder and chest, I ordered medium it fit good at the shoulder and waist but kind of loose around the belly area. BUT I WILL NOT BUY THIS 3/4 style zip again , it's too difficult to get in and out, I'm pretty sure soon I will rib along the armpit area as I try to put on this jersey, or try to get out of it in a hurry, I WILL BUY THE FULL ZIP NEXT TIME. By the way the jersey are looking great in bright white over black

Great Shirt, Sizing off, September 2, 2011
By Somersfun (Tuckerton, NJ)

The shirt is great especially the screaming yellow. It really stands out when biking on the road. Sizing is a slight problem. I believe the items run smaller than listed in the chart. I would advise to go larger than the exact size.

My best all-around jersey, August 23, 2011
By Soylent Greeney (Stephenville, TX)
|
|
I have been cycling several months so I am not an expert by any means, but I have put in some serious mileage and done some nice long rides. I have bought three jerseys, all Pearl Izumi and each of varying price and quality and they all have their merits but this one is the best all around bang for your buck deal. For my money this jersey feels very comfortable, and doesn't give me any reason for quality concerns such as loose threads anywhere, or a cheap zipper that gets in a bind and won't zip/un-zip. On the advice of other reviewers I chose XL size, even though I typically wear a Large t-shirt and Large size PI select series cycling shorts. I agree with the other reviewers and am glad that I chose a size up as this one feels just about right.
Compared to another PI elite series jersey I have, this one feels a tad thicker and another difference is that the elite series is supposed to have a more UV reflective quality. I have some doubts about the supposed UV protection on the elite series jersey so for me this is a great choice.

Odd Fit -- baggy midsection, August 19, 2011
By S
|
|
I ordered the same size bike jersey that I've always bought. Shoulders fit fine, but the midsection was baggy, so that when I leaned forward as if on the brakes or in the drops, the midriff of the jersey hung down. Not exactly what you want for a road bike. The cut might be suitable, even desirable, for a stocky physique, but it's not good if you're trim.
I did not, as is probably apparent, find that the sizing runs small: Although the shoulders on this was fine, I might possibly have been happy with a smaller size, in fact. I recall one reviewer commenting on the shoulder material: I don't agree that it's especially ugly. And it appears to be a retro-reflective material, which is a good thing for nighttime visibility.

Great jersey for a great price, August 13, 2011
By L. Myers
|
|
This is a great, simple bike jersey - well-made, and looks to be long-lasting. Watch the sizing; I am 152 lbs, and just shy of 5'10"... I always buy medium polos and large t-shirts, but I should have gone with a small in this jersey, as the medium does not fit tightly enough to serve its primary purpose of wicking perspiration. If you're on the fence size-wise, go for the smaller size.

Very comfortable - Fits great, August 1, 2011
By erudite cyclist (SLC, UT USA)
|
|
Just got this jersey from another site. I love it. I was a little worried about sizing as I have a disproportionately long torso, and a fairly broad chest. I opted for the XL (the shirt size a usually wear) and it fits great. It was snug without being constricting. It seems like the sizing charts posted online are fairly accurate. I should also point out that other brands of cycling jerseys are likely to fit differently as some are cut tighter than others.
Remember that cycling jerseys should be tighter than your normal clothes, if you're not comfortable wearing a jersey that fits snugly than you might want to consider another athletic shirt that will wick away moisture - like the adidas Men's Climaspeed Lightweight Short-Sleeve Tee perhaps.
I love having the pockets in the back. They are great for carrying my phone and some snacks for the longer rides.
I would definitely buy this again.

Great Cycling Jersey!, July 24, 2011

The Men's Pearl Izumi Quest Jersey is a great buy for the money. The Pearl Izumi name is a popular cycling/bicycling or biking brand. The cost here at Amazon.com is reasonable for this item. If you buy the top get the shorts too. The shorts are great also.

This is the second time I order my jerseys from Amazon. I got it in True Red and in Orange. Love them both. The BDI Men's Classic Jersey I previously purchased (and reviewed) and this one are almost indendical in fit, although this jersey is a hair more fitted.
Great quality jersey and for about 1/3 the average cost of what LBS's want for it. Try it on at the LBS and then buy it here.

Decent Jersey, September 11, 2011
By Cody Blake Hall

Its a jersey and it works, but its to expensive for no better than it is. It has no gripper down at the bottom so it just fits like a full zip T-shirt. It will not fit like it does the guy in the picture unless you buy one at least a size smaller than what you need.

comfy, good front ventilation, September 7, 2011

Good jersey - white color was nice for yearly local mtb race, plus it was sunny and hot that day. May not appreciate white if your in the mud, but the jersey material is comfy and the front zip is huge so it vents well. Its not flashy and just has some small PI logos along the top shoulders. Seems to clean well. A good buy for sure.

Brighter than the sun - love it, February 16, 2012
By Tyler Bennett
|
|
Screaming yellow is the perfect name for this jersey. I wanted a jersey that motorists would see in the city in which I live, where "share the road" to people means that the 4x4 mudding trucks will occassionally let a mid-size four-door sedan go ahead in the Chick-Fil-A drive through. I feel more visible in this jersey and hope to make it more years in the saddle without becoming some knucklehead's hood ornament. I bought a size up to accomodate future shrinkage in the washing machine.

Good in hot weather, February 26, 2012
By surfie999

I live in the monsoonal tropics where hot, wet and very humid conditions are the norm for about 8-9 months a year. Has been a good, moderately cool shirt for riding, although like everything else it does get soaking wet from sweat. The zip is adequately long, and ensures plenty of air circulation. Especially like the colour of mine - bright orange along with the reflector spots to [hopefully] ensure you are seen, as I need to do training at dusk or early morning. Fit is snug, but not tight, and so far no chaffing. Would buy again.

Runs a little small, April 16, 2012
By Steven R. Pocock (Houghton NY)
|
|
I expected tight fitting. This was VERY tight fitting. Bicycle garment manufacturers as a whole need to get with the program and usethe common measurements for sizes to determine the tags.... ie "large". PI's "large" bears no resemblance to the rest of the garment industry's "large" for instance.
I like the garment but now I have to lose 10 lbs to fit it.
