Pearl Izumi Attack shorts, August 30, 2010
By Margaret

These are great shorts. The padding is much better than recent models of PI shorts. In recent years PI made the padding way to thick. Can barely tell it's there with this short but enough so you aren't dying after 60 miles. Bought a pair about a month ago and am buying more so I can just get rid of some of my other shorts that aren't as comfortable.

They run a little bigger, August 18, 2010
By Shagui

The shorts are not cheap, but they perform wonderfully while you are riding. They are worth every penny.
On the inside of each leg is a silicone leg gripper. This holds the short's leg in the right place every moment
The padding is incredible. I don't feel a thing. I would barely notice something. The pad always seems to be in the right place.
They wick the moisture away pretty well.
Just one complain, they run a little bigger (I mean inside the leg, not the long of the leg) compapring the same size in SUGAR version
This happens with diferent products from Pearl Izumi, You have size L in some shorts but you need XL or M in some other clothes (Thights or diferent shorts model)

My favorite pair, June 18, 2011
By Parent of a College Bound Student (Pennsylvania)

Just bought 4 different pair of cycling shorts for a 3 day, 210 mile ride. The first 3 pair were about $20 cheaper. Each pair was not bad, but the padding was just not exactly perfect. This pair was more expensive, but thought I'd give these a try. They are by far my favorite pair. They fit perfectly and are not too tight at any one place. I'm 5' 9" tall and 145 pounds and a medium was perfect. The fit and material are great and the padding is just right. On the other pairs, the padding can either be too thick or not as comfortable. This pair conforms perfectly and does not chafe in any way or form. I ended up wearing them on my last day which was a 80 mile ride. I felt wonderful at the end. If you are looking at other shorts, I would definitely pay a little extra and upgrade to this pair.

Great Shorts, April 22, 2011
By Mar Maxim

I have been touring for a few years now (20). These shorts are the best. The padding is not to bulky but does the job. I would highly recommed then to anyone. My average tour is 100 miles. I have wore the shorts three times so far with no butt soreness.

Best Cycling Shorts, March 19, 2011
By Suzanne Ayres (Wyong, NSW, AU)

I used to think that heavily padded shorts were the best for long rides until I discovered earl Izumi Attack Cycling Shorts. The padding is light weight and they are sooooooooo comfortable. I recommend them to all lady cyclists.

A Good Bike Short, September 4, 2011
By ninasteff (USA)

Overall, I would say this is a totally acceptable bike short. Fits true to size (I wear a small). The elastic band in the leg is a little tight, but that is not a huge problem. The seat padding is adequate for the 10 - 15 mile rides that I do daily. If you are looking for Pearl iZumi quality you will not be disappointed. I actually bought a second pair.

Comfortable!, October 13, 2011
By Lin (NY, NY)

This short is true to size. It's very well made and comfortable. I won't be able to go to my cycling/spinning class without it! This is definitely a great investment. It washes and dries very nicely. I definitely recommend it. It's pricey, but well worth the comfort and quality.

Love my new bike shorts, August 29, 2011
By Amy

I realy love these new Pearl Izumi cycling shorts. I love the length, I wanted something a little shorter, but not too short. The crotch is super comfortable even on 75 mile rides, and the sizing is pretty close, though I went a size smaller than I would normally because I like my shorts tight--no baggy bum.

Great price for a great pair of bike shorts. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I just rode a 40 miler in the heat in them with no problem. I have 3 pairs of Pearl Izumi bike shorts and love all of them. I wouldn't buy any other brand. The pad is just right, not too thick.

Comfortable bike short with ample padding, July 9, 2011
By melle12

|
I am new to riding a true road bike, and like most, I have struggled to be comfortable. I will also mention that I would not be considered petite- at 5'6", I usually wear a size 8 (29/30) in pants and a 6 in dresses and skirts, and this includes lady like hips and thighs. All of this made me a bit apprehensive ordering my first pair of compression bike shorts. However, these are well worth the bravery- they make riding much more comfortable because of both the padding and easy fit. They fit like compression shorts, so you won't see me fashioning them outside of riding, but they have a comfortable waist band and leg bands that don't move or ride up. I've found that they hold me together with out squishing, run true to size (I ordered a Medium), and the fabric is suitable for exercise in hot temperatures.

A little disappointing, June 10, 2011
By Mary Kay Shaefer (Los Angeles)
|
|
I have purchased Pearl iZumi cycling shorts in the past and always loved them. These are just a little too short for me and the legs have a tendancy to ride up during spinning class despite the fact that they have a gripper on the leg opening. It just is not a very good gripper or something. They were a good price so I decided to keep them, but certainly would not purchase another pair of the same style.

They're better than nothing @ all, May 26, 2011
By TeamEricDamonEdward (NJ)

I purchased these shorts for RPM class...for the first two classes or so they were great, but after that I started to feel discomfort on the bike...definitely not as uncomfortable as no kind of protection, and after the class I'd feel nothing, but during the class I'd have to keep standing up bc it was uncomfortable to sit.I ended up purchasing another pair of shorts on sale for $45 (a different brand) and they're absolutely wonderful.

Look great but slippery on the bike, October 31, 2011
By Kalliopi Tsakiroglou
|
|
They look great, the padding is good but I was still hurting after an hour of spin class. I have heard though that one gets used to that if they keep cycling on a regular basis.
Problem with these shorts is that they are not "gripping" the seat; I was trying to sit higher on the seat so that I wouldn't hurt as much but I was slipping down because the shorts material is so smooth.

Makes Spin class so much more comfortable, October 30, 2011
By Vee76
|
|
I have only recently started cycling and mainly only do spinning classes. I was finding it uncomfortable being in and out of the bike seat during class but these shorts have changed everything. They are super comfortable with just the perfect amount of padding. The fit was perfect for me and consistent with other sizing (I'm 5'7, 154lb and bought a medium). There was no unsightly "muffin top" effect as the shorts have just the right amount of stretch. They also didn't ride up which I know some shorts can do. They also wash really well - although I've never put them in the dryer so not sure how they would stand up if you did. The shorts arrived quickly and as expected. I'm not an expert bike rider but these definitely do the job of making the rides more comfortable.

I bought these for my wife, and she loves them so much she bought another pair. They look good, and are the most comfortable cycling shorts that she has owned. Great for commuting, touring and recreational rides. Pearl Izumi is hard to beat.

By Creative thinker (Greenville, Al USA)

These shorts fit good. They are light weight have soft feel the bands around the legs are comfortable not rough or scratchie the gel pad does not bunch up. When they are washed they dry really fast. I go to a spin class 5 times a week and need to wash them after each class.

I was unsure of the new style of chamois in these shorts, but they're comfy on long rides and during the heat of the summer. Fashionable shorter inseam, without being too short to stay put. A good short for regular riders.

The fit is great!, March 3, 2012

I love these!!! The first pair I purchased were the "Select" and the padding was not nearly as comfortable as these. These are also just a hair longer and they don't make that puffy bulge around the thigh, so you look pretty lean in them. I rode 20 miles in them my first time and not an issue with my rear end at all, I will defintely buy another pair!!

They look awesome but are not comfortable, March 2, 2012
By liberty X (New York)

Maybe it's me, but these shorts are not working for me. They look great and and I love that they are shorter than other brands, but the padding is too soft and my butt hurts and I keep shifting in the bike seat. Since I can no longer return them I use them for short rides. My canondales are way better even though they are much older.
