5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very comfortable, and easy to install, August 20, 2010
By Kevin (Volo, IL, United States)
This was my first time replacing handlebar tape but it was very simple to do with this kit. The cork tape gives a nice soft cushion for the hands. There is easily enough tape to wrap both handlebars, and I even double-wrapped the bottom where my hands spend the most time. There are also two strips of black tape for securing the ends of the cork tape, but I bought a roll of white electrical tape to make it look a little better. After 100 miles of use it's holding up perfectly so I anticipate a long life. Well worth the seven bucks.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not cork and not made by Michelin, May 17, 2011
By Ben Dugdale
This tape is not cork (though the packaging says it is) and is not made by Michelin. Also I broke the bar tape for the first time and I've wrapped over a dozen bars. I wish I hadn't installed it.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Inexpensive white "cork" tape., July 27, 2011
By Glenn Wolf (Cincinnati, OH USA)
Two rolls of foam/"cork" tape, two strips of finishing tape, two short strips (about 2-3") of handle bar tape to go around the brake lever straps, and two handlebar endplugs included in package.

When I opened the box, I was quite surprised at how very light the tape felt in my hands. I was initially thinking that a)it was not going to give enough padding on the bars and b)it was going to easily tear when I was installing it. Fortunately, I was wrong on both counts.

Notes:
1)It is very white. Not "sheet of paper" white, but about as white as you would expect this type of product to be.
2)It is long enough to easily do a wide set of bars, and I install with a half-width overlap and a full turn around the brake levers.
3) It is strong enough to withstand some fairly aggressive stretching when installing.
4) Buy some white electrical tape to finish it off, rather than use the short strip of black tape provided. It looks really nice.

I put this on a bike I'm going to sell (along with an Origin 8 white saddle), so I haven't ridden with this a whole lot (trying to keep it pristine) but my few short runs have me impressed by the comfort. I have also gotten favorable comments on the sharp looks, especially with the nice contrast with the black brake hoods.

This is a well-priced white tape, I will certainly buy this again.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Neat corking Wrap., May 13, 2011
By Claxon,Bill
the product does not come with instructions and your first inclination when dealing with tape of any kind is to check its adhesive ability. This product has very little sticking power but upon installation you find that the cork holds very well on its own and presents a formitable grip when applied. Two rolls are included and if you are wraping on a road bike bar as I am you will find there is more than enough cork to cover one bike and maybe even 2 if you wrap just the top part of the bar,(horizontal) the main gripping surface for touring. The cork tape holds and feels good and looks cool.Four stars only because there are no instuctions which it turns out you do not need anyway if you can wrap.(also included 2 strips of black tape for finishing , extra cork stips and 2 silver bar end plugs.Good value, imo.)

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Avenir Cork Bar Tape, October 24, 2011
By Ryan D. Surface
I recently used this product to replace some bar tape on an old Ten Speed. I do like the fact that you get a complete set for wrapping in this package (plugs tape for the brake hoods etc) and the feel of the tape was nice and the padding was suitably plush, the one drawback to this tape is that as I was wrapping the bar and pulling the tape taunt I snapped it in two! fortunately I was at the brake hood and could make the wrap work but getting the tape taunt is key to a nice clean wrap job so I was a bit disappointed the tape snapped, if I were to use it again I would know to be very careful of how much pressure I was applying.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Taped the Tear in my Tape, October 2, 2011
By Johnny G (IN USA)
My first time wrapping bicycle handlebars, but I've wrapped tennis racquet handles over a hundred times with the same type of tape and never had a problem. The wrap seemed sturdy enough, but about the last two feet of the tape seems to be really flimsy and easy to tear. I was wrapping the first handlebar and made it two inches from the end before it tore when I barely had any pressure on it! It's just like it just went POOF or had bad quality control. I taped it up anyway and started on the next handlebar. Worked nicely and didn't tear, although I still stretched it the same amount. I guess purchasing this is just betting on the quality control, which for me was 50/50. I would go with cotton tape or a little more quality tape, although it does "look nice."

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great!, September 5, 2011
By tjclay95
This bike tape is great for the price. I ride around 50 miles a week and they are holding up just fine. Before I had the tape i was riding on bare handle bars and was very uncomfortable. The tape makes a huge difference in comfort. I would reccomend this tape to anybody that is looking for affordable grip tape.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable, August 20, 2011
By freeroaminman
Very comfortable grip tape. Easy to apply and gives a sharp look to your bike (until the white gets dirty). Makes longer rides easier taking a lot of stress off your hands and wrists. If it's worth it to you to search to save some time or a few bucks, I have found this in my local shop for a couple dollars cheaper.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Feels good, easy to install, June 7, 2011
By A. Adams
I bought this tape to wrap the handlebars on my bike for the very first time. It wasn't terribly difficult to do, and my handlebars look and feel great. The finishing tape provided didn't work very well for me, so I just ended up using electrical tape to finish the job. Overall, good tape for a good price.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Cheap tape, September 4, 2011

Eh this tape is OK. I'm probably sending it back because the quality just doesn't seem to be there. Will stick with another brand-name tape.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Like this tape, August 24, 2011
By pumacreek
Wonderfully strong, wide, cushiony tape. It's off white with brown flecks - cork, I imagine. There was enough to cut strips to go around the brake levers, as the strips included for that had no adhesive. Here's a link to an excellent, thorough video on wrapping handlebars:

[...]

My only mistake was not leaving enough overlap over the end of the bar at the beginning of my first bar. I was afraid since the tape is so thick that the excess wouldn't permit the end plug to fit in once the excess was folded into the end of the bar, but that isn't a problem. The plug has plenty of clearance.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for a cheap product, August 12, 2011
By what's up
This was a great purchase. It had plenty of tape that I could cut some off. The white does get dirty pretty fast but I knew that going in. I've been commuting to work everyday for the last 3 weeks with this tape and it works great

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfy, comfy, comfy., August 3, 2011

These handlebar wraps keep the blood in my mitts on the commute. No numb palms or digits. Take it to the next level. Get yourself a pair of gloves as well and look like a real tough guy on your commute.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great cheap product, August 1, 2011
By flipsorry
This was a great purchase. They gave plenty of tape so I could wrap it around my brakes too. It was cheap, but didn't feel like it was a cheap product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the corks that it came with felt like really cheap plastic, so I just used my old ones. But overall, great product.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great price and quality!, July 18, 2011
By cezeone (NJ)
Ordered this for my Origin8 bullhorn bars and they work great together. I don't ride with gloves and get a solid grip using this tape. Fair warning though; It's white so it's going to get very dirty unless you wear gloves but the price is worth it bc I have some leftover in the box still. Comes with adhesives too. Great value. Will buy again.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Very Comfortable, but very weak, July 13, 2011
By ninjahray (Brooklyn, NY)
I just bought the tape because it was a cheap cork tape. I tried to put them on and it was so weak that I ripped it several times trying to put it on. Instead of covering my whole bullhorn bar, I could only cover the horn part of the bar because I had ripped the tape. It is a very comfortable ride when I have the tape on and it's very cushy. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this bar tape because it's so weak that putting it on is so hard. I'd spend an extra few bucks and get the Cinelli cork tapes.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works Great, July 4, 2011
By Patricus
Simply put this is good tape. It's nice and comfy, and there's plenty of it. For those of you that care, this is an adhesive style tape (as opposed to one with a grippy backing).

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It's bar tape, May 24, 2011
By S. Gray (Texas)
More than enough tape for most std length bars. No trouble wrapping it around the bar, and it sticks just fine as long as you apply it with a little bit of tension. Great value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, great price, April 26, 2011
By Julia Johnson (Houston, TX)
This was just what I was looking for - an affordable new tape. Cork is comfortable and and easy to install, even after messing up once on my brake line and having to unwrap and start over. It came with two silver plastic end caps so I didn't have to reuse the ones I took off.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Bar Tape Grey, April 7, 2011
By music junkie (Santa Barbara, CA USA)
Nice thick bar tape in a good neutral color but it has been lying around too long and has become brittle making installation very difficult. I tore the 1st roll as I wound it on to a set of bars and I am a very experienced mechanic. I could tell as soon as I opened the box that the tape had dried out so as I installed it I was very cautious but it still ripped.

Stuff is cushioned and sticky backed. Good stuff. Definitely worth the money. I see no advantage to paying more money for cork bar tape.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  buy a different tape, May 11, 2011
By C. Loera (Anartica)
Right out of the box there are no instructions or tips. The adhesive on the tape is very weak and you can't move it after it's on. the color is cool and they are really soft but if you install it improperly you are going to get a shite looking tape job...
