cheap and not worth the 6 $, May 19, 2011
By C. Medina

1 was unglued from the start. THe ends are Glued on to the soft velcro by a 1/4 inch strip and i would not trust anything of value to hold. I thought they were sewn on, and they are cheaply cut and glued on. all will break with any real tension. Try to use it on my bike rack and one snapped the moment i put it though the plastic loop. waste of money

Great little product for tying., February 10, 2010
By travel guru (Los Angeles, CA)

I bought this product to replace some existing velcro straps that I had. The Softride wrap is a quality product that securely fastens whatever you're strapping down. For the price, and quality, I give it a five star in value.

good product, August 17, 2010
By Skies of blu

Nice, basic product. I was impressed by how long the velcro strips were. I'm able to easily fit them around my bicycle tire and bike frame to hold the tires in place when I am traveling. They seem to hold pretty good also. I put mine to the test multiple times when driving at speeds of 70 mph. I think the wraps are a little overpriced though. While durable, velcro and plastic don't cost that much.

Poor quality!, March 13, 2012
By ske1ator

I purchased these intending to secure my front bike tire to the frame to prevent movement while used on my bike rack. The day after I received them I secured my wheel, and one of the straps broke on the cheaply made bracket. That was enough for me to send all of them back and get a refund. Not impressed by any means.

Meh, March 12, 2012
By Billy Rubin
|
|
I bought these with the idea I could use them to keep my bike's front wheel from banging into my car. I got a whopping 2 miles down the road when I heard a bang on my trunk. The straps- both of them- had blown off. So, I put on the second pair and those lasted a whopping 5 miles before they disappeared somewhere on the road. I gave them two stars because I am sure some turtle or squirrel will be able to use them when they find them on the side of the road.

Will not stay on, March 8, 2012
By ags91

I bought these hoping for an alternative to bungee cords. The first time I used them one had come off within 5 minutes. I then used two to secure the tire on the way home, and one came off. The Velcro is not strong enough to handle the vibration on the back of a vehicle.

just regular Velcro, October 18, 2011
By bel
|
|
I assumed the straps would be a soft material to not scratch my bike frame. The brand name is deceptive. They're just regular Velcro straps. You could buy the same material at fabric store and sew the hook material to the loop material yourself for a lot less $. Or better yet, make a strap that is actually soft, so your frame is protected--which is the whole point of even using the straps. I'll probably return it.

I've only used these a handful of times and so far they work great. The tired stay in place on the bike rack at high speeds which is what I got them for. I would recommend this product.

Works Great For Securing My Bike Wheel During Transport, August 17, 2011
By ct.inva (Alexandria, VA)

These strips are good quality and look like they'll last a while. I use them to secure the front wheel on my bike while I'm transporting it via bike rack. Note, it takes two strips to make it around the wheel and bike frame so this package of four strips is good for two bikes.

Not very strong., August 15, 2011
By JTB (Michigan)
|
|
We used these to help secure the bikes on our bike rack. While they seemed to work just fine, we found out how flimsy they are. My husband took my sons bike off the rack and forgot there was a strap still on the wheel. He merely rolled it and the strap ripped in 3 places and is now unuseable. We will be looking for a sturdier way to secure our bikes.

Good product, August 10, 2011
By StarrJ
|

These velcro straps are made of good quality. Nice plastic buckle to string strap thru itself. They attach nicely & function as expected. I do feel they could be longer in length, as I'm able to attach our bikes effectivly together at wheels to keep from swaying, tho not long enough to secure to rack itself. We have rims & tires that are thin road racing, not sure if would work on thicker rims & bike tires. If your wanting to use to secure within a shorter length, they work good. 17 in. long laid out, 9 in. long when folded one time. I gave 5 star since the strap itself works & good quality, usage & length required is dependent upon user preference.

2 Stars, August 7, 2011
By E. McKenna (Washington, DC USA)

Purchasing these velcro straps was a complete waste of money. These straps individually come in two pieces. Would it really have been that hard just to stitch them together? I would not recommend purchasing this item if you are trying to legitimately secure cargo (even a bike wheel on a car rack) in place.

Shorter and less durable than I'd have liked., July 25, 2011
By Sean (Columbus, OH)
|
|
Size: Like another reviewer I was forced to loop 2 of these together in order to get the front tire of my mountain bike strapped to the frame.
Durability: One of the 4 has broken already. The straps are 2 pieces glued together. (I've had them for just a few weeks and the first one broke the 2nd time I used it.) The other 3 are fine, so you may have better luck.
Functionality: They work fine and get the job done other than the 2 problems listed above. I've combined 2 of them and run the larger loop around the front tire, the bike frame, and the trunk-carrier, then one more strap around the back 1/2 of the bike frame and the trunk carrier and the bike hasn't moved a bit, even over railroad tracks and highway travel.
Overall: The velcro tie-downs do a surprisingly good job of securing the bike to the carrier. I would recommend somewhat longer, wider velcro wraps to a friend, but I would not recommend this brand.

pleased...but!!!!, July 18, 2011
By squid

I am pleased on how well they keep my bike wheel straight while on the bike rack, but, I wish the description would have told me that I might have to use two staps for one bike. At least on my bikes I had to put two straps together to make them work. It would help if they were each about 3 or 4 inches longer.

Straps work Well!, June 7, 2011
By Karin Weller (TURLOCK, CA, US)

I used these to give extra support on my mountain bike. I strapped it down to my bike rack and eggbeater. My bike didn't move at all. The straps are solid, no movement or give! I'd order these for almost anything you want to stay in place. Perfect for small places that need extra support. tEAMpINK

Could be a little longer, December 23, 2010
By R. Regent
|
|
My trunk mount rack only secures my bike at the top tube. I use these wraps around the down tube to provide more security. A single wrap is too short but I knew that before I bought them. Luckily, it's easy to link two together and it really works great. I can mount and dismount the bike on the rack in seconds.
I also use them to secure bikes to our Soft Ride hitch mount rack. It's much easier that the rubber straps that came with the rack and the length is perfect for this. I've been using for about 6 months with no apparent sign of wear.

Probably only for road bikes, didn't last long, October 12, 2010
By Jenni Angel
|
|
I bought these to aid in strapping my bike onto a bike rack. I have a hybrid - between a cruiser and a road bike. They fit in some parts, but there was not good way to strap the front wheel to the frame because my frame is a bit larger, apparently, than what is recommended. I didn't realize this because I thought my bike was small. Also, one of the straps broke after a month of use. Now I only have three, and since I needed to use two strapped together for the from wheel, I don't have any way to strap to the rack, and I need to buy more. I suppose if you don't pull them too tight and have a stick frame, they work fine.

Good, wish they were just a bit longer, October 2, 2010
By Miles

|
These straps work great for lashing my front tire to my bike frame when carrying it on my car rack. That is, they work great for my road bike. On my hybrid bike, the frame is just a little further from the wheel than the road bike and these straps are just a few inches too short.
Great product, love it for the road bike. Would be 5 stars if you could get a longer version.

Great Product, Perfect with Bike Rack, June 13, 2010
By R. C. Nagy (Darien, IL)

Simple product but essential when mounting bike to rack. The rack I purchased had straps for the main bar but did nothing for the front tire. These straps were just the right length and plenty strong. I used them to hold the front wheel in place and it barely moved in my 20 mile expressway drive.

Awesome Cyclist Recommends...., January 30, 2011
By PJS (Chicago, IL)
|

You might be thinking what I did when I bought these..... "I am the world's best cyclist, sit down Lance, and since I am so good, I sometimes put my bike on my car. When I do that, my front wheel will jump around." Oh - velcro straps you are looking at work perfect. You will love it. And - the other 2 - just roll up your Yoga mat and bam! you have a strap for that too.

I bought 2 packs of these (8 straps) for use with my bike rack. They are real handy and can be used in all sorts of ways to secure the wheels, other straps, bungies, etc. Velcro is real sticky and hopefully will stay that way for some time. The material is strong as well. Great addition IMO for help securing your bike to the rack.

Great value, October 27, 2011
By Shirley-KC
|

These were a great price and work exactly as expected. I wanted something that went on easily to keep my bicycle tires stable while on the hitch mount bike rack (and to keep them from spinning while on the highway!). For this purpose, they don't need to hold a lot of weight, but if a tire came loose, I have no doubt it would hold it on until it could be corrected. I am pleased with the product.

I was buying a 2 bike trunk mount, while majority of reviewer were complaining that their cars got scratched and one of reviews suggested to use these to fix wheels and pedals of the bikes. Worked as a charm! Made construction very steady, I believe it did save my car!
These soft wraps provide strong grip, easy to use. Highly recommend!

Really liked them until one snapped, July 21, 2011
By scorcha

I was quite impressed with these until after about a month of use one of them snapped. The 2 parts of the velcro are not part of the same strip, instead they are 2 separate pieces of strip glued together. Doesn't matter how strong velcro is if the glue fails!

Not as advertised in photo, May 1, 2012
By Joe H

These straps are good for securing your front bike tire when towing your bikes in your bike rack. Two things to note...
-These are plain black, low quality straps. Not like the straps in the image.
-They are not quite long enough to wrap around your bike frame and bike tire, so you will need to use 2 straps together to achieve this.
They do however, get the job done.

Good straps, deceiving image, March 19, 2012

I bought these straps because they were recommended by Amazon when I purchased my car bike rack. They work very well in securing my back to my cars rack on top of the built in straps. They feel heavy duty and look like they will stand up to weather, but they look NOTHING like the straps pictured in the listing and look like they are of a much cheaper quality.
