Good bike for the price, September 18, 2010

Nice bike- mine took about a week and a half from the time I ordered it to arrive. Assembly is easy, but adjusting the brakes and shifters can take some time. Once adjusted, it works very well- it shifts smoothly, and rides fairly easily. My complaints are these:
1) Comes with cheesy pedals- I replaced them with these (9/16" threads): http://www.amazon.com/Diamondback-Sound-Pedal-Black-Alloy/dp/B001C3GJ22/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1284868963&sr=8-1
2) Brake levers are plastic, and the pivot point is a rivet, not a bolt. They feel a bit flimsy, but work fine.
3) The seat height is a bit low. I'm fairly average-sized (5'8"), and I have to raise the seat to the absolute maximum to be comfortabe.
4) The front wheel is ever so slightly warped- doesn't really affect anything, really.
Overall, a good bike for the price.

Dangerously cheap bike, July 3, 2011
By yujovi

I didn't have much money for the summer so I figured I'd buy this bike. What a poor decision. Both wheels are not at all true, so using it is already hard enough. The grips on the handlebars will also slide off halfway overnight, every night. And the worst thing is just this last week, when I was biking on the road to work, the right pedal just came clean off, stripped, and I nearly got run over by the passing cars. How does that even happen on a bike. I will never skimp on paying a more for a bike from now on. I have only had this bike for 2 weeks and it has not been treating me well at all.

It's ok for a bike. Good for the price., March 23, 2011

No problems with shipping. Installation was simple. The only parts needed to be installed was the front wheel, handlebar, pedals, and seat. Brakes also needed adjustment.
As for the bike, it is what you would expect for a hundred dollars. Cheap plastic parts, squishy suspension, heavy frame, very cheap looking derailer, and teeny-tiny handlebars covered in rubber.
Ride is ok. So far no chain issues with gear changes. Given how cheap everything looks, I don't know how long it will last. I have some buyer's remorse already, i am sure that for the money, I could have gotten a better bike used on craigslist or something.

would rather have spent a little more for a better bike., October 20, 2010

ill admit that if you are low on funds, and just need any bike, then i guess you can consider this bike. but i wish i could go back and just spend 50 more on a better bike.
the main thing is that thing bike does not go very fast at all. on the smallest of downhills, my pedaling doesn't seem to do anything.
also, the shifters are placed on the handle bars, so while i am pedaling uphills, i sometimes change gears on accident unless if my hands are only halfway on the bars. its not like i have huge hands, so that aspect of the design was a real head scratcher for me.
all in all, i recommend for only the most price conscious shoppers. to everyone else, you're already spending 130, might as well spend a little more to make your entire purchase worth it and without regret.

its ok, April 24, 2012

I guess for the price, its not to bad. But i suggest buying an extra set of pedals and a new seat right along with it. The pedals lasted a week before one broke off and the seat is the most uncomfortable thing I think I have ever sat on. The bike its self is satisfactory.

Nice bike. Looks like it will last a long time!, April 19, 2012

I received this bike 5 days after I ordered it. The bike looks really nice and feels very sturdy and durable. It looks and feels like it will last a long time. However I do want to say a few things. When I received it, the quick release for the seat was missing. I guess it got lost in shipment because the box it came in had a big hole in the middle exposing some of the bike. The box also arrived wet in one corner with various tears but all of that happened during shipping. My guess is the quick release piece fell out during shipping. I just ordered a new quick release for $8 to replace it and so I won't be able to actually ride the bike until this piece arrives in the mail. Also when I was putting it together the reflector attached to the back tire just literally fell off from the little peg it was attached to on the tire. I think I can easily put it back on so no problem there. The instruction manual it comes with is not specific to this bike but for a lot of bikes from Cycle Force Group so its not easy to follow as it goes through every aspect of the bike and the bike arrives mostly put together except for handle bars not attached, front wheel not attached and seat not attached. It comes with all the tools you'll need to put it together. Another thing to point out is I don't know if its just my bike but it doesn't 100% resemble the bike shown in the picture here but its almost a perfect match. I noticed the part of the frame just below the seat that looks straight is actually kind of curved upward to the seat. The frame metal under the seat is also not perfectly aligned with the frame part just under it. I don't know if the one shown here is of a different design of the same model but I do know that its only about 98% exact to the one I received.
All in all, the bike looks really beautiful. The color is nice and it feels very durable. Right when I opened the box I knew I had bought a good bike for the price. I expect it to last several years but we will see. I wouldn't fully recommend buying a bike online unless you can pick it up from the store because of all the abuse it goes through in shipping. My box arrived wet, tore and with a big hole in the middle which is why the quick release for the seat was missing I'm sure. It is a very unique looking bike and in my opinion probably the best you can get for this price. The bike is kind of heavy but I'll come back and update this when my quick release arrives and I am able to ride it. Its been about 12 years since I last rode a bike so it will be an experience to ride one again.
***UPDATE***
I noticed after riding the bike for the first time that both tires were about half flat out of the box, making it much harder to peddle and maintain movement and speed. I ordered an air pump and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail to solve this problem. I also notice that the seat this bike comes with is extremely uncomfortable. Just 5 minutes of riding the bike I started to feel discomfort and pain in my butt and the next day my lower back was in pain. I highly recommend replacing the seat with a much more comfortable one. I have not decided which one to buy as I am still doing research but I do know that you will find it very hard to enjoy this bike if you keep the stock seat unless your butt is made of steel. If you are planning to buy this bike I do recommend it but I also recommend you also purchase a tire air pump and a replacement seat. I also noticed the handle bars put off a strong rubber odor. I had to wash my hands 3 times with soap to remove the rubber smell from my hands so perhaps those would do well being replaced too. Aside from the stock components on the bike I will say it is a really great looking and very durable bike. Just be prepared to replace the seat and have a tire air pump handy. I'd also suggest wearing gloves to keep the handle bar odor off your hands.
All around though the bike is very nice.
***UPDATE 2***
The right pedal stripped out in the right crank arm on my second use of the bike. I would say the bike had less than 4 miles on it when this happened. Perhaps I didn't have the pedals tightly secured in the crank arm is why it came lose and stripped, but I do not know for sure. I have to buy a new crank arm and pedal before I can use the bike again. My new suggestion for those who are looking to buy this bike is to go ahead and buy a good reviewed replacement seat, handle bars, pedals and crank arms. Everything else on the bike seems to be fine.

Can't complain, August 30, 2011
By Nyx

I'm no bike expert I've only had 4 my whole life. However the main reason for this purchase was because my last bike was stolen and I needed something to get be back and forth to work. For me this bike works great, a huge improvement over my last bike. Small downside would be that the color is more of a bronze than copper (it's still a really nice color) and the seat isn't the most comfortable. Seeing as I'm a female on a men's bike I'll probably replace it with something a little more padded. Shipping was on time, the box it came in worried me when I saw it was tapped together like its life depended on it, but all of the parts were there and in perfect shape. Assembly was fast and easy was able to ride same day. For the price, it's a great bike!
