4.0 out of 5 stars.  It works, May 12, 2010
By K.S. (California)
It works well, but is not perfect.
I have a 14 lb poodle mix, so she is pushing the size limitations. The extra weight on the handlebars makes it a bit harder to ride - especially if the dog wiggles, but it is manageable if you go slower.

The downsides:
1. The way the straps are designed it is a bit hard to get my dog in and out of the basket
2. The width makes it harder to access my brake levers (I have a small mountain bike, so this may be better on other bikes).
The upsides:
1. It is easy to install
2. My dog seems to like it
3. Now I can take her with me when riding!

Overall, I'd recommend it, but ride carefully!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Must-have item for bike riders that own small dogs!, November 10, 2011
By MasterDebater (Long Beach, CA - USA)
I've looked at about four or five different styles of dog baskets and this one has a better-looking design than most others. That of course is my opinion because I have a big, rugged mountain bike. I was looking for a bike basket that was a little less girlie and this one works out. I also like that the Snoozer Sporty has side pockets and two zipper pockets in the front. The black rain cover with the hole for your dog to poke its head out of really doesn't matter to me. My dog doesn't like it. It probably makes him feel too constrained.

At first my dog disliked being in the basket (it's a good thing it comes with a short leash to attach either to your dog's harness or collar, just make sure there's not a lot of slack or your doggie will end up hanging should he/she jump out!) but it actually only took a short while for my dog to get used to being in the basket. Within an hour or two of first getting the basket I took my dog out for a ride around the block and he seemed to enjoy it. Every dog has its own personality so it may take longer for some dogs to get comfortable with riding in the basket. I started out by placing my dog in the basket while it was on the floor in my room. Then when he felt comfortable and stopped trying to hop out, I carried him around the house in the basket and ultimately mounted the basket on my bike and we enjoy bike rides to the park together quite often now.

Like the previous reviewer mentioned, make sure your dog isn't too big; I can't stress that enough. I have an 11 pound poodle mix and it fits him just right. Larger breeds will probably not be comfortable in this basket, smaller breeds will fit better than my dog. I ride pretty fast and my dog loves it. That said, I would NOT recommend using this basket while riding over really rough or excessively bumpy areas. My main gripe is I wish this dang thing came in more colors!! That and the price is kind of steep... but considering all the other dog baskets out there are about the same price or more expensive, I'd say the Snoozer Sporty is the way to go.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  a little wobbly, December 25, 2011
By joan
Snoozer Sporty Bike Basket, Red/Grey/BlackIt was easy to assemble on bike and fit nicely. My 11 lb chihuahua fit nicely in it. It only latches to her on one side. I had to use the carrying handle to latch it to the dogs harness on both side to be sure she could not jump out. I wish it were a little stiffer. It "lists" a little to one side. And there is some "play" or wobbliness when moving the bike handlebar (turning).

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Too small, April 5, 2012
By SNHansen
I have a miniature Dachshund that is under the weight limit for this bike basket, but due to the longer length of his body, he didn't fit! It is a well made product, just wish it were a little longer

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good quality and dog loves it, May 11, 2012
By tmartinezdunn
This bike basket is a great way to take my pup out for a bike ride. It mounts easily and is very safe. The first couple of times I put my dog in it, he wanted to jump out but thanks to the harness it has he was strapped in safely. It did get a little bit in the way of the brake cables but after a little adjustment, it settle right onto the bike. There is also a lot of storage space in the side pockets, enough for leash, bags, some food and a to-go bowl.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Pet Bike Basket, May 8, 2012
By Tracie
This basket works great for my 6.5 lb yorkie (in fact I could easily fit one or two more in with him). It attaches very easily to my comfort bike without interfering with the gears or brake lines.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Dog Carrier!, April 15, 2012
By D. Marcoux
I have a Specialized upright comfort type bike and this dog carrier works absolutely perfectly. My one yr old 15 pound Norwich Terrier took to it without any introduction! There was no shifting about or wiggling of the bike or handle bars. I think it's really well thought out. I am totally psyched because now I'll be out on my bike more!!!! I hate leaving my Teddy at home! Just need to be careful when putting your dog in and removing, by keeping your bike steady. Great bargain on Amazon as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome product, super fast delivery, April 2, 2012
By amarisa
I have not tried riding my bike with my dog in it but have installed it on my bike which was extremely easy. The basket is sturdy, very roomy for my 6.5 lbs yorkie and chihuahua. We got two baskets for them but both can be in it at the same time if needed. Also wanted to note that this seller provides a super speedy delivery. I placed the order on Saturday, and it was delivered by Monday. Impressive!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Like it, March 4, 2012
By amy
I was a little skeptical at first reading the reviews, but once I bought it for my dog, pomperanian-poodle 10lb, it was great. The only problem that I had at first, was the attachment clip that clips onto his dog collar; It's too long, which posed a choking hazard as he was able to move around more in the basket-giving him the oportunity to jump out of the basket while riding. Solution: To use a harness instead around the dog, and to wrap the attachment clip strap around the handle bar once for the dog to be secured and enjoy the ride.

What a sporty dog carrier. It's easy to attach to the bike and securely holds the dog place. it's easy to get the dog in place and allows her to look around in all directions
