4.0 out of 5 stars.  Avenir 40 Degree Stem, August 14, 2010
By J. Semple
I wanted to raise the handlebars on my Marin Pt Reyes just a little higher. This Avenir 40 Degree did the job nicely. It is a high quality piece and looks great on the bike.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Adds needed relief from back, neck and hand strain., April 18, 2011
By comfort seeker
This high rise stem is just what my bike needed. I ride a varied length of rides with a diverse terrain. I just was not comfortable and found myself shifting my seating position and trying to find a better hand position all the time.
This stem raised my bar about 2 inches and in this case 2" was adequate. I am now in a more upright position without looking like a old man on a hybrid comfort bike. It looks totally stock. It is extremely well made without the visible weld on other cheap stems. It has 4 bolts for the bar while others have only two. It is very light weight. This is without a doubt the best upgrade for the money to add needed comfort without sacrificing style.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It's beautiful, July 21, 2011
By skipro3 (Placerville, CA)
I wanted a stem that would give me more reach and bring the bars up taller. While it is a longer stem, the steep angle chews up any length that would have been created between the seat and the bars. So in the end, the bars are taller and the distance between the bars and the seat are not changed. I guess I'll try and find me a seat stem I can use to move my seat further back to give me more distance between seat and bars now that I have a good height ratio.
It is a very nicely built component; great color, form, fit. I love this thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Avenir Rise Stem, January 24, 2012
By Liquidreign
I bought this stem for a mountain bike I rebuilt from the ground up. It worked perfect for what I wanted. I use my mountain bike for commuting and like to ride in more of an up right position and this stem was exactly what I needed. I looked at other stems that were more expensive and had less rise than this one, but I am glad I decided on this one. For the price, quality, and different sizes you can't go wrong with this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well, long stearer clamp., November 23, 2011
By Ken S. Sato
Very pleased with this stem. Great product for the price. I am using this in the negative/downward position. It should be noted is the length of the stem's stearer clamp is longer than most. So if you have a stearer that has been cut short for an average stem you will have a gap were this stem's stearer clamp is too long for your forks stearer.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Gives the mtn bike a more comfortable ride, October 24, 2011
By C. Saalfrank (Indianapolis)
Used this to give a more upright ride on a mtn bike. I'm not taking 4ft drops with, but works well for moderate use. The included shims make it worry free... it fits the 31.8 and 26mm handle bars.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Riser Stem that Works, April 28, 2012
By George F. Parsons (Brush Prairie, WA United States)
The Avenir 40 degree riser stem improved my riding comfort and allowed me greater choices on riding positions. Now I can go down in drops with the ability to still look up and see the road. I'm 6'5" and needed some help over the stock stem on my Cannondale Synapse 7.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Avenir Fit stem 40 degree rise, April 21, 2012
By Dooman
Does exactly what I wanted, move the handlebars up so I wasn't reaching so far out over the front of the bike. Fit my steerer tube perfectly 1 1/8" size. It does take up more room on the steerer tube but just remove some of the spacers on your stack and you're there. Good product solid well made. If you need it, buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid Part - Good Value., March 28, 2012
By nekro~rider
Installed very easily and raised my handle bars nearly two inches. Made my bike a lot more comfortable to ride and the price was much cheaper than others parts available. A very solid product that is the definition of quality, it is a very well constructed part. If you want to raise your handle bars for a more comfortable ride and don't want to spend forty dollars to do it, well here's your solution.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Avenir Riser, January 30, 2012
By nickjzing
The riser lifted my handle bars to a more comfortable level, installation was easy and did not have to disassemble the handle bars. I would recommend this riser for anyone who has a road bike.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Fit, November 1, 2011
By Grill King (California)
This stem was easy to install and allows me to sit back for a more comfortable position. It was the right solution to raise the handlebar without forward extention.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Well Made!, May 24, 2012
By Faja4X
I had purchased a bike that came out to be a little on the small size...putting my head low and my behind high. This really worked out nicely in raising my handlebars just enough to get a much more comfortable ride. As others have stated, raised it up about 2 inches. Now my neck is not killing me.
