Not 100% Compatible, March 9, 2012
By The Squirrel (OH, USA)

The inflater works but it's not compatible with every 12g CO2 cartridge - Crosman in particular. This is fixable, though. Take the time to review the product picture I uploaded.
The problem appears to be the inflater and not the cartridges - the neck on the inflater head does not screw down far enough (that or the base is not narrow enough to prop a 12g cartridge properly). This means that some 12g cartridges will not seal properly (just barely). The result is a pierced cartridge that blasts frigid CO2 out of the inflater. This would be a nasty surprise with a flat tire and limited cartridges. Cold hands & a walk home.
Possible fixes:
- Just buy 16g cartridges instead of 12g. This can be problematic since 16g are not as common unlike the 12g carts. You can order a box of 16g on Amazon, though.
- A short bolt and nut(s) approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch in length can be dropped into the bottom of the unit (it has a hole in the bottom). This will elevate the 12g cartridge enough to seal properly. Be sure to test it out and listen for a small leak. Be careful not to elevate the cartridge too high - the head unit will pierce the cartridge seal but refuse to screw on.
- If you're stuck in the field try some rocks or other debris in the bottom of the inflater. This will work in a pinch.
Be aware that you need at least 2 cartridges (12g or 16g) to inflate many tires. Good luck.

what can i say, it works. it can also use the standard 12g co2 cartridges that are sold at most sporting good stores. that alone makes this inflater worth it.

Great stuff, March 9, 2012
By Nixon

Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. Truth be told I hope it stays that way. One great feature of this product that they do not mention, on the bottom of the case is a hole so the cartridge will fit in backwards for storage. It's a neat little way to save some space when you don't have a half used cartridge loaded in it. The item itself seems very well made and it is in a pretty compact package. I would recommend this to anyone.

I purchased two CO2 tire inflators, a Portland Design Works Shiny Object CO2 Inflator and this Genuine Innovations Ultraflate Plus.
The Ultraflate Plus is easy to use but it is more bulky than the Portland Design Works Shiny Object. The advantage that the Ultraflate has though is it will accept either threaded or non-threaded CO2 cartridges. And that is a big advantage if you're on a ride with some others and you realize you don't have a full cartridge with you and everyone else has nothing but non-threaded cartridges with them.
This is a trigger activated inflator and although it's a little sensitive to adjust inflation rate precisely, it is possible to give a short burst to seat your tube before you fully inflate the tire. The locking tab on the back of the inflator head ensures that the inflator isn't accidentally activated while in your pack or pocket.
It's lightweight but a little bulky. It works well and I think it's preferable to trying to pump a tire using a small, ungainly tire pump. Invariably I end up snapping my valve stem when using those small pumps. I'm glad I finally discovered the benefits of CO2 inflators.

Cost effective, easy to use, but bulky, February 2, 2012
By Lost My Mind (California, United States)

My main complaint about this inflator is its bulk. None of my saddlebags will hold the full length of this inflator (that said, you can unscrew the top and store it separately).
This is one of the few "portable" tools I genuinely like using. It's simple, reliable, and fast. Simply put the cartridge in the cup, screw on the top, flip a switch, and pull the trigger. If CO2 was a bit cheaper, I wouldn't even bother with a pump at home.
The best part about this inflator is that you can use the inexpensive 12g threadless CO2 cartridges available at your favorite sporting goods or big-box discount store.
Unless you need an ultra-compact-ultra-light solution, this is one of the CO2 inflators available today.

Can't beat it, January 11, 2012
By Regina Cone (VA)

WHen you get a flat and just have to pull a lever things are looking up. Rather than pumping with small hand pump for 20 mins this works in seconds and is easy to get CO2 cartridges for. A flat is never fun but this makes it a lot less painful!!

Works Great!, February 29, 2012
By whettam

The Genuine Innovations Ultraflate Plus works great. It easily screws on to the shrader valves and with a little force snaps on to the presta valves. It diffidently holds threaded and non threaded valves. But when I put in a type of non-threaded 12g CO2 cartridge it started to leak right away. Even though I put the screw cup all the way on. I think the CO2 cartridge neck was to short but others are longer. It diffidently know 16g CO2 cartridges work. The cup is really nice so that you don't freeze your hand when your putting in the gas. I like this proudect a lot even though it is not that small.

Works like a champ, April 25, 2012
By Ice-Child

Was hoping I wouldnt need it any time soon but you know how that goes. Was riding to the bike shop for a group ride for fun. They are doing some construction on one of the bridges and of course I have to find a sharp object. Thankfully it didnt hurt the tire just the hole in the tube. Spare tube on and this thing works great. Pretty much full to where it needed to be and kept on riding after about 5 minutes. So thankful it A works as intended and B I decided to buy it.
Highly suggest if you dont have a pump and are short on space (like most road bikes). This thing fits nicely inside a mini bag under the seat along with my multi tool and spare tube and patch kit. Works great and super easy to use at that. It came with a non-threaded CO2 cartridge which works out good for me because I can buy a box of 12 for 8 bucks locally. Totally worth every penny (a little biased it saved my butt yesterday).

Perfect gadget for the saddle bag!, April 17, 2012
By Chris Chapa

This little bugger has a durable build to it and fits most co2 cartridges. Works with Schrader valves as well as Presta but the latter can be a little tricky at first. Must be carefull with road bikes because it takes LESS THAN ONE cartridge to fill up a 700cc tube and I found that out the hard way; almost wet myself from the boom!
If you don't use up a full cartridge, there is a locking mechanism that prevents the release trigger from being depressed when stowed. After two weeks/100 miles of riding, I needed to air up again and there was still plenty of pressure in my already pierced cartridge.
I would mostly call this product a super handy novelty, since a dual action manual pump also does the job just fine (which should still be attached to your bike somewhere). Having purchased this product though, I can say that the convenience and time saved is most welcome. The only way I can see myself not keeping it handy is if I find another one like it that has a built in pressure gauge that measures while attached.

i can highly recommend this product and i used it once and it really work great. the reason it got 4 stars for it doesn't closed all the way when you put the co2 cartridge, there is a little gap but it still works.

I have not used it yet (good thing) but it seems to be well made and fits in a small carrier under the seat....and it will take either type of cartridge, with or without threads.
