5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best 8-speed shifters out there, October 24, 2011
By Ryan B
About the only thing entry level about these shifters is the fact that they are 8 speed. They came stock on my Cannondale Quick CX which I just ran through my first cyclocross race. The shifters perform flawlessly. I didn't miss any shifts and am able to go down 3 gears at a time, which was handy in the rapidly changing course. My bike has the full X-4 set and I have never had any problems shifting, nor has the chain ever come off the front rings. Highly recommend if you are running 8-speeds.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  SRAM Shifter, October 17, 2011
By Paul Weldele (Tennessee, USA)
So easy to install and adjust, took less than 20 minutes. Took bike riding experience from painful (gears not shifting properly) to SWEET! Now I can focus on my course and exercise parameters and have no concerns for whether the bike will fail me.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Trigger hard to read, easier to switch than previous S4, September 17, 2011
By El Rober (LA, CA USA)
I changed from an old S4 Trigger to this new X4. It is weird to click on the same direction when moving up or down the speeds, granted is with two different triggers but I have not got used to it. The labeling is hard to read, I use it to train my partner and tell her what speed I'm at, now I can approximate what speed I'm in, the scale for the back deraileur is really really hard to tell if you are on 6 or 5 or 7.

Yet, the shiftings are way better and easier than with my previous S4. I'm happy with the new triggers, but getting used to the change.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good shifter, August 22, 2011
By ebiggs1 (Spring Hill, KS USA)
This is a good shifter for the non-competition folks amoung us that just like to ride. I am a weekend rider for pleasure and a exercise.
They work very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Buy them here. Sports Authority charged me $36 with labor, April 26, 2012
By J Sol
Shifting is smooth...they look sleek / minimalist too. I've transformed a used bike into something better by adding new quality components.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome, February 19, 2012
By Ed76
Super easy to install, and they came with per-installed cables, which was a bonus. The instructions were not stellar, but 5 minutes on YouTube fixed that
