5.0 out of 5 stars.  02 Cycle Rain Jacket, January 7, 2010
By road cycle addict (Danville, CA United States)
I love this jacket! It's not intended to keep you warm, but dry, and it does just that. The fit isn't snug, which enables the wearer to donn it over jersey and even a fleece vest. It's very light and it folds into almost nothing, which is perfect for those days when you have to change your layers during a ride. The fabric is delicate so I don't expect it will last forever, but the jacket is a value, so replacing it isn't cost-prohibitive.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Is that it?, November 8, 2010
By Buster
When I opened this I just thought, huh? is this it? It looked and felt like something I'd pick up at a $1 shop, felt like a cheap picnic sheet. It's extremely thin and insubstantial and there doesn't appear to be any great level of craftsmanship. Maybe that's the point though? Must be a handy profit for the seller. I have worn it and it does keep me dry. It dries off quickly and stores easily in its pouch. And it looks OK. I got the medium and it's very snug even though I'm quite small-framed (5'8", 150 lb) and lean build. I was hoping to use it in the winter over a medium-weight coat, since I often ride a moped, but I don't think that'll be an option.

Anyhow, I suppose the lightweight and portability is what's valued by bike riders. I was just expecting something a bit more substantial and well-crafted. This seems like something I wouldn't pay more than a few bucks for, rather than the $29.85 (incl. postage) that I paid.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Lightweight and functional but probably not durable, April 30, 2010
By itsjustwhatithink (Westfield, MA USA)
I bought this because it was only $5 more than the plastic rain jacket I was replacing. Upon receiving this one, I was surprised at the material. It is extremely lightweight - the jacket and stuff sack weight 5.5 ounces - and it can easily fit in my water bottle cage. I haven't worn it in the rain yet so can't speak to waterproofness or breathability. But I do a lot of multi-day touring in rough country and I have a hard time seeing this jacket hold up for long. I'd be reluctant to suggest it to someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest who needs a reliable rain jacket for frequent use. But for an emergency jacket or occaisonal use I think this will prove excellent.

End of summer update: I've worn this jacket on several rides and 2 short tours and it has performed better than expected. It breathes quite well and shed rain very effectively. I'm now getting one for my wife. I still consider it a "throw away," but expect to get at least 2 seasons and perhaps 3 out of it. Highly recommended as the perfect on-bike emergency rain gear.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  So far, so great!, May 13, 2010
By William of Baskerville (Indianapolis, IN)
I knew after I opened up a very small envelope that the jacket arrived in that I got exactly what I wanted - a lightweight, inexpensive rain jacket. I wore it the very next day because of cool weather and threatening rain. Ultimately, it was more than I needed. At 50degrees with about 75% humidity, I was sweating by the end of my 8mi commute.

While I'm not sure that the jacket "breathes" as well as advertised, it is comfortable on the skin, it is waterproof (as far as I can tell so far), it is lightweight, and very easy to carry around (one could easily fit it into an under-the-seat-bag).

The fit is also good. I normally wear a large, so I ordered that size, and it fits perfectly with room to spare in case I want to add an additional layer come fall/winter. The sleeves are just right, the tail is more than long enough, and the collar isn't too tight.

After I wear this is a real rain shower, I'll add to the review any relevant developments.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  What a great rain jacket., April 13, 2010
By Miles Stoneman (Marion, IL)
I road tested this jacket on a personal century training ride entirely in the rain. My jersey stayed dry and I stayed cool inside. The fabric feels "weird" but it is a great functional jacket. The fit is snug. Don't cheat on the size. If you need large, buy large.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Super Jacket for Rainy Days or Camping, April 3, 2010
By Ann Hoffman (Concord, CA)
I know anyone would hate a rainy day without waterproof clothes. This jacket is stylish and perfect for those will-it won't-it rain days. Also with is bright color, it's going to be easy to notice and spot the wearer, which is good when you're camping, especially if there are hunters (I hope not) nearby. This is an ideal jacket and I recommend it for all outdoor uses and it'll be reliable so you don't have to worry about buying another anytime soon. Oh yes, you can cycle with it on rainy days, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Can't beat price - Breathes pretty well but fits small & easy to tear, June 25, 2010
By Jason A. Poling
I've only worn this a couple of times but overall it is a good jacket. Does what it is supposed to do. Keeps the rain out and breathes relatively well. It does seem to run small. I had to replace the L with the XL. Also, it is made of VERY lightweight material. This means it can tear easily. Overall it is a good jacket for the price. There are far better options out there but no where near this price range.

Good fit, cuts the wind. Haven't worn in the rain yet, but like it otherwise.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  It Works, April 25, 2012
By Bike Commuter
Needed a rain jacket, so I purchased this one. It's light weight, bright yellow and comes with a small bag of the same material for storage when not in use.

While I have not encountered any weather of biblical proportions since my purchase, I have ridden in some moderate rain. The jacket kept me dry, and I use the waterproof storage bag to keep my wallet, phone, etc dry.

I liked it well enough to purchase the rain pants. Both pants and jacket should easily fit into the same bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great jacket but WAY small, January 27, 2012
By PhunkyDork (Baltimore)
Order two sizes larger than you think you need. The material does not stretch so good luck fitting it over your base layers! It breathes very well and stops the rain. The tail is longer and arms are longer to accommodate the biking position.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Happy with the Jacket, October 20, 2011
By PaulB (Brooklyn, NY United States)
I am about 6'1", 190 pounds. The large size fits well; no billowing, but not restrictive. The jacket seems very water repellent. I have not yet worn it in a prolonged deluge but I am pretty confident it will keep me dry even in heavy rain. It's slightly breathable but still gets hot with vigorous riding. By storing it inside out, I hope to prolong the life of the outer coating. At an under $30 price, I'd call it a terrific bargain.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Wind breaker., September 30, 2011
By Bill
This coat definitely is a wind breaker and a good bright color. Not sure about it's ability to block the rain yet. It does breath. It doesn't really roll up into a very small bundle though.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Light Weight Jacket, September 23, 2011
By Mike
Nice light weight jacket for cycling. It is cut small; I am a med-lg, but a large on me is comfortably snug.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Lightweight and cheap, July 30, 2011
By Dakine Prescott (Arizona)
Item was purchased for Grand Canyon Hiking. I have adopted and Ultralight backpacking method and this rain jacket fits the bill nicely for this type of use. I plan to use it when biking as well and like the fact it provides good visibility. I ordered the XXL so it would fit over my backpack. It works but is tight and I would suggest a XXXL if you plan to use it over a backpack.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Deal, May 26, 2012
By Out For A Ride
Bought it last year and deployed it 8 times. Live in Colorado so it was nice that it kept me both warm and dry during downpours on rides over the Continental Divide. Breathes alright but nothing that is truly waterproof is going to breathe like you want over miles on a bike- especially when climbing mountains. Compresses nicely to fit in jersey pocket for easy access. Great for cycling but others who are buying it for hunting, etc... may want to look at something more substantial.
