Bad product-don't buy, August 15, 2010

I purchased these gloves hoping I was getting a good product. I was wrong. A seam split during the second week of use. That wasn't the worst part. Every time I used these gloves, they turned my hands black! I guess Giro used a cheap dye and when your hands sweat, it transfers the dye to your hands which does not wash off for a few days. I was really dissapointed in the quality these cloves.
Bottom line, cheap product and over priced. Don't buy these gloves. They are junk.

Lasted 1 month only. Don't buy., October 24, 2010

They were comfortable at first. They have some kind of plastic in the palm area which completely melted down (tore, deformed) after few washes. Lasted not more than 1 month of usage.

Don't buy! Just lasted 2 months!, March 14, 2011

This is simply the worst glove I have ever had. Every time I used it my hands went black and I couldn't clean it for a couple of days and then after just 2 months using this during the weekends I had a hole in the palm of my hands. The palm has some plastic material that just melted down. I was very carefully when I washed them (hand washing) so there is no motive for this to have happened. Yesterday I bumped into a friend wearing the same gloves and guess what? The same holes in the palms.
I trusted Giro because I am a fan of their helmets but I do not intend to buy Giro gloves anymore. Even the cheapest gloves I have had in the past lasted more than that.
Complete fail.
Don't buy.

Great product for people with numb hands. Buy if that is you!!, September 9, 2011

I tried several other kinds of gloves, including a $30 or so pair of Specialized, the $40 Pearl Izumi Gel-Vent, but these Giro Monacos were by far the best. They completely eliminated the numbness that plagued me on any ride over 30 minutes. I can't begin to understand why people have given these gloves such poor reviews. They are better made and with better quality materials than the Gel-Vents, which got much better reviews, and that is why I bought those first. (After the Specialized.) Given the poor reviews here, I would never have bought these, but I tried them on in the LBS and liked how they felt. The technogel works great at absorbing vibration, and the glove as a whole is much better ventilated than the Gel-Vents. The microfiber is very absorbent, and the pull tabs on the two middle fingers make it easy to remove the gloves without turning them inside out. I can ride forever without my hands getting numb!!!

Exceptionally Awesome, November 28, 2011

I totally thought these gloves were awesome. I did not buy mine online (REI)...but I MTB on some rough terrain and thought it was perfect! The feel was great, the fit was great, and the ride with it was great. I loved the two little tabs that help you pull off the gloves. The wrist band makes an awesome personalized fit around the wrist. The padding I thought was nice and thick for MTB. I road bike too and it did not bother me at all. I do not remember much about sweating issues. Since I do not remember it being a problem at all, then the gloves did not have any issues with ventilation.
I biffed it several times MTB and the gloves saved my hands from being scuffed up. I loved using it! I think it is a great glove. At first I wondered why I spent so much on a pair of gloves, but they were worth it to me after I started using them. I would be using it now if someone didn't steal my awesome gloves! =) Hope this helps!

Overpriced, but performs well., October 7, 2010

Overall I find this glove great for mountain biking but not road cycling since the padding is overkill. I'd prefer a lesser padding for road cycling, such as the Giro zero, which is also overpriced but nice. The new $26 pricetag is worth the money, but not the $30+ I paid.
