love to run in these, August 16, 2009
By Scout (ma.USA)

All the females in my family now has a pair of these knickers. The fit is solid. The fabric is stretchy enough to mold the leg and buttock muscles tightly. I feel that I don't jiggle as I jog/run and it mentally helps me feel fitter. Washes really easily. The pocket in the back holds my carkeys, phone and money for my Starbucks after my morning run. It holds the ipod that my kids love to use while exercising. I use them for my pilates class and my instructor loves the lines on the side so we can get the 90 degree angle for my bent knee. I would purchase a pair again.

"for running"... Really?, May 9, 2010
By Melissa (IN)

These pants are very, very cute, really - but I would never wear them for running. They material is slippery and a bit ill-fitted, not like any other self-proclaimed running pants I have ever worn. There is no compression like I am accustomed to having in running pants, especially at this price. And they are really for warmer days, not cooler because I can feel the breeze through these pants. I was expecting a little more, but these are pretty much the same as the the gym pants that I paid $20 for, just with more shine, a prettier design and color. They aren't what I had expected by reviews, and there is an extra pocket not mentioned which isn't a big deal but I thought it was a little strange that it would have a rear zipper pocked and an internal pouch (like you would normally find in running shorts) right next to that pocket. It looks funny having that extra bulge on your butt. I won't buy another pair of these, but I will still use these to work out in because of they are cute (go ahead and say it: vanity!). These are not for the performance runner. I will stick to Nike, UA and Adidas for running pants.

good stuff, November 25, 2009

I bought these knickers because the weather is getting slightly cooler, but it wasn't cold enough for full length tights and too cool for shorts during some of my runs. I received these and love that there was a compression-like feel that offered support for my leg muscles, but not too restricting. Some of the tights that I looked at the fabric seemed too thin and somewhat see-through. These knickers felt like it was of more substantial material. The length on me is just perfect. I am 5'4" and it hits me midcalf.

Quick dry, comfy running pant, June 20, 2010

These pants are a great product. The zip pocket in the back at the waiste is so useful when you're out for a run and need to carry extra cash, a key, and id. I am 5'5" and these pants end an inch below my knee. They are thin but not in the way that shows every lump of cellulite, as some stretchy pants do, if you know what I mean. I would definitely buy a replacement pair if/when they wear out.

So disappointed!, April 17, 2012
By Discerning shopper (San Diego)

They changed the style of these and sent me the new style! The old style was so much cuter and more comfortable with the slits in the legs. these have no slits in the legs but fit very tight around the calf. I like being able to move freely and not be restricted when I move.
Also, they should tell you they change the style if they're going to keep the same name for them!

I don't like the fit. Medium for a 5'7, 135 lb women was loose. I didn't care for the material, too much back end movement for me. I like my pants tight with a firm fit, and these don't offer that firm fit!

Love these, May 27, 2011

I bought the black/green Aurora Splice Knickers and love them. They look very stylish, are well made, and the fabric feels very good. No where does it say on here that these are for running. In fact, Pearl iZUMi is more for bicycling, BUT I wear them for walking, slipping on when I go swimming, exercising, and even just around the house. Comfortable and flattering. I like them so much, I just ordered another pair in black/white. As for the fit, I found them pretty much on target with the size.

I wear small and bought those in small. They fit nice and are cute. They are a bit higher waist than usual which is appreciated when cycling.

Exactly as stated!, December 27, 2011

These were exactly what I expected them to be. They fit perfectly, they had just enough compression and they were completely comfortable to work out in.

Ok, but overpriced, July 10, 2011

These nickers do not compress. They are fairly comfortable and look nice. There is a decent size pocket in the back that zippers, larger than any of my other running pants. They run a little lasrge and the stiching has fraied after about 10 washes.

I wouldn't call these "compression", June 8, 2011
By 2wildboyz (Colorado)

I've had these for several weeks now, so have had plenty of time to really use them. I have mixed emotions about these...
The good: comfortable, looks good on, feels great while running, wicks away moisture pretty well, and dries fast.
The bad: the seams are a little scratchy and after a while do irritate, the drawstring is terrible and doesn't really keep the pants up too well, and I wouldn't come close to calling these "compression" knickers.
Having said that, if you're on the cusp of a size, and working on weight loss, perhaps order down. I bought these in a large and was right on the cusp size (150lbs, and 40in hips at the time I bought them), and by the next week they were a little too big because I had lost a few pounds and 1/2 in. Now I have to keep pulling on them to keep them up. It's not a bad thing that I'm losing weight and inches, but it sucks that I have to go and buy another new pair. Wish I could exchange, but it's a little late for that.

I love these. Very slimming., May 16, 2011

I got these in the mail today and wore them to my boxing class. Wow!! I wish they were not so expensive, or I'd buy them in every color. I'm gonna have to save up to buy at least one more pair. I'll wait a couple of weeks and see how they hold up and if I still feel they are worth the money. So far, so good.

Cute fit, but scratchy seams!, March 22, 2011
By amers

These pants are great for working out, but I have to take them off IMMEDIATELY after. The seams are hard and scratch my skin pretty much constantly while wearing them, and I wish I had known this before I purchased. I would NOT buy them again...I found cuter ones from Under Armer for $10 less (outlet discount)...and they do not scratch my skin. If you have sensitive skin (which I do not consider I have) definitely do not consider these for purchase.

Calf not spliced, March 20, 2012
By Frances Stoor
|
|
The black tights are listed in the same Amazon listing as other Pearl Izumi "splice" tights and I expected the bottom of the calf to have the splice/slit.. but these black tights do not have that. The fit of these black tights were snugger than the grey/pink I ordered that were also supposedly a Pearl Izumi splice tight. I would have expected that the tights in the same listing would have had the same fit. I'll be hanging on to these since I expect my running to pay off and these snugger tights to be useful in a few months.
However, the grey/pink tights were exactly what I was expecting in fit. The calf is spliced and doesn't feel too tight around my calves like the black ones do. Also, the black tights have a mesh behind the back of the knees, so I would expect those for warmer weather, and the grey/pink's fabric is solid throughout. The back pocket on both tights is just perfect for my little smart phone and ID.
