5.0 out of 5 stars.  holds more than you think!, June 25, 2010
By Sir Dave (Austin, TX USA)
I have one of these for a year or so now, and I use it for grocery runs. I can put a 25lb bag of kitty litter in it, and a couple of 2 liter bottles of coke, and there would still be space for some minor items. The basket is narrow, so it doesn't catch the wind, and the mesh is fairly fine so most anything you put in it will not fall thru. The only downside of this basket is that I can no longer throw my leg over the back of the bike like I used to. Mounting it onto my rack was very easy with the hardware supplied. Be warned that the bike will handle differently if you put a lot of weight in there (like the kitty litter!).

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Meh, November 9, 2010
By Shamalbek (MO, USA)
I had the Basil basket for six months or so, but the mesh began to break apart from the frame around the bottom. I fixed it with zip ties, but new holes kept appearing. The basket also sagged where it hung over the end of my rack. Overall, I'm not impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It's a basket, December 13, 2010
By ShoresWasTaken
It's a basket that fixes to the rack on the back of your bike. It was easy to install (5 minutes) but it's firmly in place and I don't anticipate having to ever adjust it.

If you're looking for tons of space, folding options, and/or you tour on your bike, you want panniers. There's a cost associated with those extras, and a risk of theft.

If you're a casual biker like me who wants to fit groceries, messenger bags, that sort of thing, this is a great and affordable option.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Rear Basket for Dog, April 10, 2010
By BlkIceMom
This works great for my older female dog to ride behind me. I have another basket on the front for my skittish Male dog.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Almost perfect, August 19, 2011
By Danielle
This basket was perfect for what I needed- something safe and sturdy to have my 14 pound dog ride along with me. I tried other pet baskets that were over-priced and flimsy, this one was much better! My only complaint is that I could not get this basket assembled onto my rack using the instructions provided. Eventually, after unsuccessfully attempting to make sense of the pictured directions, I got the basket onto the bike using my own combination of screws and saucers.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome, March 5, 2011
By ERIN
This basket is perfect! I had just gotten a new beach cruiser and literally looked every where for a basket and even went to a cycling store by my house and the owner was rude and pressured me into spending $54 on a basket that was to big! Which he told me I could return and when I did he charged me a restocking fee!! So I ordered this and I love it!! Great size perfect fit holds my beach bag and groceries!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Utilitarian bicycle basket great for carryings items, July 1, 2011
By Georgia on my mind
I am very happy with this product. I like the way it was designed, with the side of the basket dropping lower next to the bicycle seat. I also like the size - not too big, not too small and light-weight. I can fit quite large parcels in it because there is no top, and it is easy to use my own straps to tie things down. It is perfect for my needs since I generally want to carry odds and ends with me when I am traveling on my bike.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great basket!, March 15, 2011
By K. Keough (Somerville, MA United States)
This is a great basket! It's durable and big which is exactly what I wanted. My only gripes are that it is quite heavy and weighs my bike down quite a bit. I also couldn't put it on myself, I had to have someone at my local bike shop do it because of the way it attaches to the wheel area. Oh well. Still, a really nice and convenient addition to my bike!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great for plopping a backpack in, December 8, 2011
By Stephanie Opsasnick (saratoga, ca USA)
my daughter uses this to put her backpack in for school. Panniers would have taken too much time to load and unload. With this basket, she can put all her gear in, then plop her backpack on top. She has also used it to hold a bag of groceries. Very handy.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  It'd be *totally* awesome, but..., November 27, 2011
By AMJ
I was SOOOO excited to get this basket! I bought it to replace the milkcrate I've been using, since that doesn't work well with the height of my seat. This basket has a perfect cutout to go under the seat & everything! Unfortunately, it does not fit my bike rack quite the way it was intended. The bolts are too short to connect the mounting bars through my SunLite bike rack. I'll be buying my own bolts (easy enough, right?), though. It seems very sturdy & is the perfect size, otherwise.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Buy, September 16, 2010
By BiketoWorkDaily (San Francisco)
I bought this and really like it.

The mesh holes are small enough where you can throw almost anything in the back and it won't slip through (even house keys).

It is very sturdy.

I bought a bungy net to hold things down and that was a very important add-on (got it at amazon also). I had a double high milk crate, I didn't need anything over it and it was great, but this is not high enough for that. You have to have something to hold things down....

But the combo is better than the milk crate overall.
