Great little cover. This is my second one as my kids lost the first one for me. Hard to find an assortment, let alone even one, for the 1 1/4" size but this one does the job. Stays put & it works to help keep the receiver tube clean. Nice finishing touch to back end of our '06 Explorer.

Almost perfect!, January 7, 2011
By Universal Cynic (Wisconsin)

I bought several of these to replace the one that came with my trailer hitch (and a few backups for my Dad and I). It's so hard to fine 1 1/4" hitch covers and these are great. They are made of a firm rubber, not a plastic. It had just enough of an interference fit that a good bop put it right in and I have no fear of it rattling out. My only beef is that it says Curt on it, I'd prefer one that has no brand name, but with these features at $3 I'm still a huge fan!

Good product, loose fit., January 1, 2011
By mill0048 (Ft Lauderdale)

As mentioned in prior reviews, this product fits a bit loosely in the receiver end. For my MazdaSpeed 3, the bumper hangs a bit low and prevents this from just falling out, but I think it would fall out for most other cars after a while. I'm using it on a Curt manufactured receiver. You would think they would fit perfectly...

hitch plug, October 23, 2010
By Saluki100 (Rocky Mountains)
|
|
It is as advertised, a hitch plug. Held in place by friction and compression. I'm not sure how long it will stay before it falls out or is stolen but it is a very cheap item and should keep the receiver clean while in place.

Solid buy, December 28, 2011

I ordered this twice as you can't beat the price for a hard to find tow hitch cover. Both orders arrived quickly and fit well. Very happy with the product, solid buy.

Dosn't fit very tight, February 17, 2012

It's not a very tight fit and I hope it doesn't fall out. Otherwise it's a nice heavy duty rubber plug.

Not worth 5 BUCKS but it is what it is. Not real impressed with the way it fits into the hitch.Should be a more positive locking system

Lasted until the first car wash, January 10, 2012
By Ron Rieger (Texas)

This cover needs to fit tighter as others have mentioned. I installed it and a week later went thru an automatic car wash and the spinning washers pulled it out. When I got home it was no longer with me.

Curt 1-1/4" trailer hitch cover, November 2, 2011
By JC in NC
|
|
Works as advertised and is a great value for the money. Keeps dirt and crud out of the trailer hitch opening and hasn't fallen out yet.
Only negative is that it has discolored somewhat, but for less than $3 I'm not that concerned.

This is exactly what it says it is and is for the small receiver hitches. Hard to beat the price of this if you need one.

hitch receiver cover dose what it suppose to do. It hasn't fallen out, and it keeps the water out of the inside of the hitch so it doesn't rust.

Fits Great!, March 15, 2010
By P. Cook (Boca Raton, Florida)
|

The item received was just as pictured. I used it with a Curt brand hitch and it fits very tight, requiring a few palm hits to get it to sit flush. Gives the car a very finished appearance. Good price and not so nice that someone will want to rip it off.

Low Profile, does the job right & good price !, June 14, 2009
By HealthcarePractioner (Sac, CA)
|
|
Fairly easy to insert the first time and was a good price; also "low profile" haven't had one of these stolen, like the "auto manufacturer logo" ones; even in a HUGE hospital parking lot;where like-it-or-not these things do happen. I'd have given it 5 stars; but it had a HORRIBLE SMELL (worse than tires) to it when I first got it, though that's normal for raw rubber and it's not like I'm wearing it or sniffing it on a regular basis ! I don't tow often (less than weekly) so don't know if it would work as well for frequent removal and replacement; in all honesty. I do think it would probably do well, though.

FIts Way too Loose, but Easily Fixed..., April 26, 2012
By MINDSCI (Bridger Mountains, Montana)
|
|
The Curt Trailer Hitch Cover fit way too loose in my U-Haul 1 1/4" Trailer Hitch. However, this was easily remedied. I shoved a large rubber cane/furniture tip into the recess on the back of the Curt Trailer Hitch Cover. I drilled them both and secured the cane/furniture tip to the Curt Trailer Hitch Cover with a small bolt and nut, and trimmed down the protruding cane/furniture tip to match the Hitch Cover. This bulged out the sides of the Curt Hitch Cover so that now it fits very snugly into my U-Haul Trailer Hitch. I also secured a short piece of chain to the Hitch Cover with the bolt too. The other end of the chain slips over the hitch receiver bolt before the lock is attached so the Hitch Cover does not get lost. SEE MY PHOTOS ABOVE.
