Product Description:
The ultimate in child comfort and safety! All the features of the Kangaroo carrier, but with the added bonus of thick seat and back padding as well as a padded shoulder harness. Also exclusive to the LTD is the deluxe safety harness with oversized buckle system. You get the same improved passenger carrying position of our Center mount seat with more child interaction and safer weight distribution. But we've taken it to a sofa level! The Kangaroo LTD is not only the most plush carrier we make, it's the most comfortable bicycle child carrier made. Item ships with one mounting bar. For Customer Care at Kent call 1-866-462-4535.
The ultimate in child and comfort and safety, the WeeRide LTD Kangaroo child bike seat offers all the features of WeeRide's popular Kangaroo carrier--including a unique carrying position and adjustable foot cups--but ups the ante by adding ultra-thick padding on the seat and back and a padded shoulder harness. As a result, your child will be more secure and comfortable than ever while you ride across the countryside or to the grocery store. The LTD Kangaroo is an unusual child bike seat because it doesn't sit behind the bike saddle, as with most carriers, but in front of the rider. This puts your child in a safer position, where you can easily take note if he or she is upset.

The deluxe safety harness and oversized buckle system, meanwhile, will keep your child secure while giving him or her a much better view of the road and surrounding activities. Perhaps the subtlest yet most convenient feature, however, is the enhanced weight distribution, which keeps you from wavering while navigating corners or hitting bumps. The LTD Kangaroo bike seat--the plushest carrier that WeeRide makes--carries a two-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the age and weight limits for passengers of the Kangaroo child carrier?
A: The recommended limit is 4 years old and 40 pounds.

Q: What is the minimum age for passengers?
A: The child should be able to support his or her own head with the added weight of a helmet, usually one years old. Please consult your pediatrician.

Q: What is the maximum height for passengers?
A: This is also dependent upon the height of the adult piloting the bicycle, obviously the rider needs to see over and reach around the passenger. A good way to judge the height of the passenger is to sit him or her on a bench and have the adult sit directly behind them. If the adult can see over and reach around the child, you should be fine on the bike.

Q: Will I have to alter my cycling position or pedal stroke when using the child carrier?
A: Yes, but the alteration is minimal. It's not a tremendous alteration of your cycling, but you will have to pedal with your knees slightly more apart than usual to avoid hitting the seat. For the short recreational trips you are taking with your child, this will be a very minor inconvenience in comparison to the quality time spent with them. If you are going for a long training ride you wouldn't want to subject your child to that, so the seat is easily removed for those rides.

Q: Will the child carrier fit my bike?
A: Wee Ride carriers will fit most bicycles: mountain, hybrid, cruiser, men's, or women's bikes. It will not fit to road bikes with drop style handlebars (rider is too hunched over) and downhill/freeride bikes (DH forks have legs that go up almost to the handlebars and the WeeRide mounting bar will restrict steering).

Q: What if I want to switch the carrier between two different bicycles?
A: An additional mounting bar is available separately. You can mount it to the other bike and switch the carrier at will.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Product, but Ten Caveats, August 25, 2009
By David L. Van Slyke (Eugene, OR United States)
[...]

Back in Spring we got him a WeeRide LTD seat. This fits between the handlebars and my seat. (There is also a non-LTD version with less padding. Both versions are sold with the mounting bar included; the separately sold bar is only for a family that wants a second one, to be able to quickly move the seat from one bicycle to another.)

It works great. But there are a large number of caveats.

First, it does not fit every bicycle. The Amazon reviews make clear that some people had to return it for this reason.

Second, I am 5'4" and it just barely fits comfortably. Anyone smaller than me would probably have problems. I did not have to change how I pedaled, or where my knees where.

Third, the 5mm hex key it comes with is so poorly machined it does not work. Anyone ordering the seat should also buy a hex key set if they do not already own one.

Fourth, my leg length allows me to normally stop the bicycle without hopping off the seat, simply pointing one foot tiptoe to rest while stopped. Anyone used to hopping off the seat when stopped would obviously have to change habits.

Fifth, my fitness level and bicycles number of gears allow me to bicycle up even the steeper hills I would ride on without standing. I never had the habit of standing while pedaling up a hill. I have not tried standing while Smiley is in his seat, but from the Amazon reviews apparently this does not work.

Sixth, the harness system is odd. Smiley can twist out of a shoulder strap, as he did in the above picture when smelling roses at the Owen Rose Garden. I assume this is intentional. If, heaven forbid, I was to crash then having the toddler firmly stuck in the seat is probably not the best option. But a wiggly child who does not follow instruction would need a different bicycle seat.

Seventh, the child can grab the handlebars. Smiley does not try this while I hold them, but if I let go of one to adjust my MP3 player or blow my nose he sometimes does. Be alert for this potential source of swerving!

Eighth, the routes I might bicycle are all on streets and paths kept clean of gravel and debris. By using a bicycle seat instead of a trailer, I am betting that my likelihood of crashing my bicycle is less than a motorist's likelihood of hitting my trailer. If I lived near gravel roads or where autumn leaves sat damp and made slipping a danger, a trailer would be the better choice.

Ninth, there is no hole in the seat large enough to pass a cable lock through. Where I live I am not worried about the seat disappearing while the bicycle is locked in front of the library or a store. In other locations this might be an issue; the seat comes off quickly and easily but is very bulky to carry around while doing errands.

Tenth, pediatricians currently recommend that babies under a year of age not use any bicycle seat or trailer. Their brains still slosh around too much for that kind of vibration to be safe.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good for some, not good for others, January 23, 2009
By AS (FL United States)
Obviosuly the concept is great. But for us it did not work out that well. First probelm is that our 1 1/2 year old was to big/tall. When we first unpacked the seat we were astonished how small the seat is, at least to us the seat is tiny, in reality that is all that is needed and the design maybe on purpose inorder for the person to bicylce comfortable without it being too much in the way. But even still we found it uncomfortable to go for any longer trips than say a quick ride.

We have instead purchased the COPILOT LIMO rear child seat. And it has worked out very well, and out child has room to grow so the product will have a longer life span as well as able to go for longer rides more comfortably. We had the same reservations that anyone would have about the rear child seat, but this particular model COPILOT seems very stable and since we bicylce together our child can see the other parent as we ride together.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bike seat for child!, May 13, 2009
By Outdoors Mom (Collegeville, PA)
At first we werent sure if any child would be comfortable sitting in this, but when everything was attached and my 13 month old was sitting in it, he looked just fine. He was sitting up high enough that he could see everything without having to turn side to side (as in a rear seating bike seat) and we could definitely keep our eyes on him. He's still not sure about the headrest part and he keeps his hands down to the sides, but overall, he's extremely content when we go on bike rides. We have gotten tons of positive comments from other parents that see him in it. In our area most people use the bike trailers and a few rear seats. So this is definitely something people dont normally see around here. We've only seen one other Wee Ride on the bike trail.

I bought an extra bar so that we could attach the seat to either my husband's or my mountain bikes. The one and only downfall is that for me (i'm 5'2"), I found out that i'm just too short in the torso area to allow for a comfortable ride for myself. Our handlebars do not adjust so i am in this crouched over position which doesnt leave a whole lot of room between me and my son. I kept knocking his helmet forward and it was just too awkward of a ride for me, so we can only have the Wee Ride attach to my husbands bike as he is much taller than me. Even though i dont personally get to ride with him, its a joy to see him have a good time. I think a taller mom should have no problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Too small for taller toddlers, October 12, 2009
By Tereseyoga (Florida)
I have been looking for a front mounted baby bike seat for my son for several months and finally decided to purchase the WeeRide based on all the wonderful reviews. I am a single mom of a 2.5 year old, with very little extra time on my hands and was very grateful for the easy installation. The next morning when my son awoke we went for our first bike ride together. At first I was very hesitant because I couldn't get his feet in the foot holders...I thought his shoe might be too wide, I stuffed him into the seat and strapped him on, (he might not have fit if his diaper had been full)but he loved being up front and being able to see everything. He loved his steering wheel and feeling the wind in his face...and then I tried to make a sharp turn and pinched his knee between the handle bars on my bike and his seat. This happened twice, I'm pretty adaptable, I was willing to make wide turns when necessary if he loved riding with mommy, plus he's very tall for his age and my choices are extremely limited. Even the local bike stores were of no help. After about an hour he was done and didn't want to ride on mommy's bike any more..."my seats too small mommy"...

Before purchasing I did call the 800 number to ask about dimension and the woman I spoke with was absolutely no help, she said, "all I know is what you have read in the description." What's a mom to do??

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Poor quality for the money, June 11, 2009
By Thomas (San Jose, CA)
This item works as advertised, and the main reason why people give it good reviews is because having your child sit upfront indeed is a great way to have interactive rides with your child.
BUT, if there was any competition in this category from a major manufaturer (the iBert is equally poor quality), nobody would buy this product, let alone pay $80 for flimsy, poor plastic. The seat feels extremely cheaply made and the plastic is so thin that it stretches and moves easily when pushed. I can not imagine what would happen in an accident, better ride very very carefully! In addition, the belt system is extremly poorly designed. It has shoulder straps, but it is only a 3-point harness. We manually added an additional clasp at the chest, as a three point harness seemed quite unsafe for this application.
In summary, the items works as advertised but it is of very poor quality and way overpriced for what it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome seat!, April 20, 2009
By GK172 (NYC)
I went with this seat after trying to decide between this and the Ibert. I went with this seat because it had more padding and also had the front piece so that my son could rest his head. The Ibert would have to attach to the handlebars so that the seat would turn with the handlebars. This was a dealbreaker for me. I didnt feel it was safe to have him turn with the handlebars, especially if we had to make a sudden turn, I wouldnt want hom to get whiplash. The wee ride sits between the handle bars and seat, and is very stable. I'm 5'10" and was very comfortable with this seat on my bike. I did have to ride slightly bowlegged, however it really wasnt that noticeable. My son loved the ride, and we rode for 3 hours without any problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  WOW. We loved it so much we bought two, one for each of us (we have two toddlers!), June 13, 2010
By dazed81 (Illinois)
I did a lot of research trying to find a system that would work well for our family. I have a 30 pound almost-3-year-old daughter and a 20 pound 14 month old son. We have a bike trailer that was given to us but I am not comfortable pulling it because I can't SEE them, and because I have heard so much about the weight being a strain if you aren't an avid biker. It needs a few repairs and I wasn't keen on paying for them if i wasn't going to use it. I decided on a front mounted bike seat but was really nervous, because I haven't ridden a bike in several years. I had just purchased a brand new Nirve Cruiser for myself (it's GORGEOUS!) and I wanted something that would fit well, be secure, attractive, and able to be removed if necessary. The Wee Ride line fit the bill and was nicely reviewed. I was really on the fence because I didn't think I really NEEDED the LTD model (extra padding, etc) but I could NOT see putting a red and black model on my pretty new leopard print bike. So I sprung for the LTD model.

When the item arrived it was well packaged and I was so excited. Minimal Assembly was necessary (adding the headrest/handrest to the seat) and then I was able to install it on my bike. I installed it in the front yard while watching both kids. It wasn't terribly complicated, but the hardest part was installing it without causing any damage to my current paint job on the bike. I did get one knick near the headstock. I had to use the bolts for the oversize headstock, and it was difficult to get the brackets on as the cruiser has a VERY short headstock. At first I was really worried that it wasn't going to fit, but it was fine. The bracket is VERY secure. I almost had to remove the front basket to get the bracket on. I will let you know right now that there is no way I will be taking that bracket off my bike anytime soon. PROBABLY never. LOL. It would be a huge hassle. I am happy that they offer extra bars for purchase if you want to switch the seat to another bike. However, when attaching the seat to the bar (with just one hand-tightened bolt with a large plastic knob to turn) I had a very hard time getting it to line up and attach right. Once I got it, I also decided that I wouldn't be unscrewing the seat if I could help it. You are able to adjust the distance the seat is from your own bike seat, and I moved mine as close to my handlebars as possible, because I really wanted as much leg room for myself as possible. I have a "cupholder" style drink holder on my handlebars, and I had to turn it around so that it is INSIDE the front basket, or the seat wouldn't fit at all. the cupholder is still not usable when I have the seat attached, which is a bummer, because the seat's headrest/handrest covers it completely.

I was nervous about riding, and the weight distribution, so I tried it with no kids first. It was so simple! I barely had to alter my pedaling. I was impressed. I put my older and heavier child in it first. The ride was a breeze. At first I thought that she was "leaning" back and forth as I was pedaling (side to side leaning) and I asked her to stop because it made things a bit wobbly, but I still didn't really feel "unsafe." As soon as she stopped, it was a perfect ride. She loved being able to see what I see, and point things out to me. It was a totally new experience for both of us, and we LOVED it. I went for a ride that was twice as long as I usually do, and longer than I ever anticipated I would go with a her, especially the first time! When we got home, I switched and took my son, who is younger and 10 pounds lighter. I noticed right away that the "leaning" sensation was worse with him. It wasn't because they were intentionally leaning, but it was because he didn't have as good of control of his center of gravity, and his body rocked back and forth with my pedaling. Eventually he got the hang of it and both of them seem to be able to sit more still in the seat. He also loved the ride. I had been mildly concerned about them keeping their hands off the brakes and handlebars while riding. I had no issues with my daughter and almost none with my son. They loved the handrest and it is just perfectly positioned.

The only effect I noticed on myself, was that the wider pedaling action, though not really noticeable while riding, did make my butt a little sore afterward. Like different muscles were being used and my butt was not in as good of contact with the seat as it is without the WeeRide installed. Keep in mind I have a large Cruiser style seat. This is SUCH a cool product. We are ordering a second one so that my husband can put one on his bike and we can ALL ride together! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Please see my uploaded photos on the product page to see what the seat looks like :)

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Do not Buy this product huge dissapointment., April 11, 2011
By Book Store (California)
I ordered this product after reading all the great reviews. However, when the weeride bike seat arrived we attempted to place my 10 month old 19 pound daughter in the seat and her butt did not even fit. My daughter could not even get into the seat. My daughter is not overweight (LOL) so this bike seat is designed for a baby that is really small in size and weight. This is one of those kinds of products that you have to buy at the store so you can try it out first before you purchase it. The baby they show in the picture on Amazon looks twice as big and old as my daughter and somehow the boy fits just fine (How does that happen). Do not buy this product online go to the store and try to fit your baby in the seat first and you will see what I am talking about. Futhermore, I don't even see this product on sale at any of the local stores. Save time and the hassle of having to return this product. My wife and I were getting ready to install the bike seat so that we could take our baby on a bike ride and was extemely dissapointed that she didn't fit into the seat. Please do your research first because I was so sold on this product when I viewed online and read the reviews. Remember some products that you buy online don't always appear the same when they arrive and this is one of those products. However, we have been using Amazon.com for several years and have always been satisfied. This is just our first bad experience. I hope this helps people.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product!, June 2, 2010
By W. Buttaggi (Maryland)
Great product and extremely easy to install. Actually, I was so excited to take my 18 month old son for a ride, we put it together as soon as it came in the mail. He absolutely loves it and did not want to get off the bike. The seat seems very safe, sturdy and secure. The fact that its more in the middle of the bike helps with balance and control... it really wasn't any different than riding by myself. A+

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Front Seat Child Carrier, May 23, 2009
By Y
I couldn't find this product in local stores so couldn't imagine how it looks like or fits on a bike. But the reviews here did help me make a decision and I ordered it from amazon.com. Note that this product includes the mounting bar. I found the guide could have had better pictures to make it easier for install but since the assembly itself wasn't that complicated I was able to install the mounting bar and the seat with ease. I was amazed how easy it is to mount and unmount the seat from the mounting bar. Also you will really have to see how small the seat actually is. For a better feel, just go the weeride's site to see pictures and video. I have a 26" Mens' NEXT PowerX Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike and had my own suspicions bcos of the rear suspension but it fitted well and my first day experience was great. My 18 month old enjoyed the ride. The only thing to mention on the negative side is that you will have to pedal with feet a bit farther apart than normal but it wasn't that big of a deal. I could hardly feel once I got along with the ride. Overall I think it is a great product.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  The safest space-saving alternative, May 13, 2009
By sailrish (Chicago, IL United States)
I researched 4 different types of products - the rear trailer, like the Burley Solo, the rear child seat like the Pilot, that installs on top of a carrier attached to the rear bicycle wheel, and the front seat that installs on top of the handle bar - and finally this one, which installs in between the handle bar and the main saddle. I must say, this product is the best compromise of all the alternatives. I ruled out the handle bar-perched seat because it just seemed really unsafe and unstable. It also looked very uncomfortable. i also ruled out the trailer because it was too expensive for my budget (the good ones like Burley) and storage would be a problem in our 850 sq. ft. condo. Between the rear child seat and the wee ride, the wee ride offered more safety (low center of gravity), and the chance to interact with your child all the time. The wee ride scores great on these fronts. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because it seems like my daughter will outgrow it within a year. For now, she loves it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LOVE - LOVE this seat!, March 12, 2009
By Paris's Mom (CA)
We tried both the rear mounted child seat as well as this seat and found this style to be so much more comfortable to ride with . I am on the small side and always felt unstable with my child on the back of the bike. With this seat I am so much more comfortable riding that we go all the time! You are able to interact with your child much more and can hear what they are saying when they point out things along the way.We don't have the LTD version but I am thinking that I might just invest in it for my husband's bike because we have been so happy with this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  well-designed, May 29, 2009
By J. Montgomery (Chicago, USA)
This seat was easy to install and has worked very well. The harness is comfortable as the buckle system is well-designed for a seated child. We did find the platform/head rest interesting but removed it when the edges of the platform came to close to the handlebars, leading to a situation which could pinch a child's hand quite significantly. Test out turning the handlebar without the child seated to look for this potentiality.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not all it's cracked up to be, February 19, 2011
By Cedar
I bought this bike seat because it appeared to be a value priced alternative to the Dutch style child seats made by Gazelle and other manufacturers. The user reviews were all strong but several problems emerged.
1) The seat does not fit small to medium framed bikes at all. My wife has a Schwinn Cream (same as a Breeze or Collegiate) with a 21inch frame and mounting the Weeride interferes with the ability to pedal or steer safely. It appears the only kind of bike this actually fits is a very large framed mountain bike that has a sloped top tube.
2) The mounting point for the seat onto the bracket is secured by one small aluminum bolt, and when mounted, the seat is wobbly and insecure.
3) The plastic for the seat is flimsy and too flexible
4) The belts are not sized or mounted in such a way that the child can be secured safely and comforably. I suspect the designers practiced with dolls and did not factor in the ability for the child to move or even breathe
5) Sharp "flash" on the molding areas that can cut skin.
6) No protection or support for the child's head. Children fall asleep when riding, and there is nothing to support the child's head if sleeping, nor any way of extending the seat.
7) No protection in the event of a fall for shoulders or head, as with other child bike seats. If this bike falls the child could be badly hurt even if wearing a helmet. If not wearing a helmet, the consequences could be grave.
Defintely not recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Baby bike seat, November 19, 2010
By Mike
The seat was easy to install (20 minutes). My wife and I are satisfied with the manufacturer quality. I do suggest avid bike riders to look for an alternative to this seat. For extended bike rides the seat inhibits the normal pedaling motion making for an uncomfortable ride. I am 6' tall and my wife has experienced the similiar problem at 5' 9" tall. However if you just need a child seat to ride short distances, (e.g. ride to school with other siblings), the seat is fine and priced right.

Enjoy!

Mike

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not so good for some bikes, September 23, 2010
By Yim Tonia Chu (Quincy, MA United States)
I bought this WeeRide after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews on Amazon. I already spent too much money on a Topeak BabySeat that sits in the back while my 9-month old keeps slipping, so I figured another $60 isn't that bad if it works!

The LTD WeeRide arrived quickly in a small package. All you need is an Allen wrench which is included in the package. The installation, however, took both me and my husband a good hour. We have a LL Bean Women's Roundaround Cruiser, the distance between the seat post and the handle bar is quite short, so we had to use the inner hole on the mounting bar. Also, you really need to know how high you want your bike seat to be before you fix the WeeRide mounting bar because once the bar is on and you want to adjust your bike seat, you will have to adjust the mounting bar again! The WeeRide saddle is attached to the mounting bar by a knob with a screw. The screw on the knob has to go through the saddle, then screw on the mounting bar. However, only a small amount of the total length of the screw can be screwed on to the mounting bar with threads. The majority of the length is in the saddle where there is no thread and just a plastic tunnel. When my son is on the seat, and he shifts from side to side, the saddle goes with him a little bit. The seat belt is difficult to adjust, as other reviewers have mentioned.

The biggest problem for us though, was that after I install the mounting bar, I can only install my adapter beam on top of it in order to mount my bike to the trunk of my car. Between the WeeRide mounting bar and my adapter beam, there is very little room for the trunk rack to go between, making it extremely difficult to mount/take off my bike from the trunk rack. I would imagine this not to be a problem if you have a men's bike because you would then put the WeeRide mounting bar above the beam.

I also have to turn my legs outward to ride the bike (and I am only 5'3"), and it is impossible to stand up when climbing up hills.

I would have given this a 2 star but my 9-month old does enjoy the ride tremendously. He seems relaxed in the seat and frequently turns around to see things.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This child seat will not let you down, September 21, 2010
By picalo (California)
I was a little hesitant to buy this after seeing some of the reviews saying that it is uncomfortable to ride with. I disagree. You're not going to do the tour de'france with this seat on your bike, but for short jaunts around town it should be fine. It does take a little getting used to as you will have to bend your knees outward, but not overly much. I have ridden up to ten miles with this thing attached and not felt uncomfortable after getting off. For your comparison I am 6 feet tall and have long legs for my height.

Additionally it didn't really slow me down much. I normally average about 15 mph during a trip on my bike, with this on I slowed down to about 12 mph. My son absolutely loves it, we have ridden for up to 2 hours off and on and he never even falls asleep.

Only major downside, it's small. Don't expect it to last as long as they advertise because your child will outgrow it quickly. I estimate no more than 3 years old will be comfortable, and that may be pushing it.

Overall I would definitely recommend this seat.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Pretty good seat!, July 5, 2010
By Luck§ter (Davenport, IA)
Overall this is a pretty good seat. The installation isn't very hard, maybe takes a few minutes to adjust to your bike. **MAKE SURE YOU CONTINUALLY CHECK & TIGHTEN THE LARGE HAND SCREW THAT CONNECTS THE CHILD SEAT TO YOUR BIKE, IT WILL LOOSEN, ESPECIALLY THE 1ST FEW TIMES YOU USE IT**
Our daughter loves the seat, she likes being able to feel the wind in her hair and be close to her daddy! =)

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great seat!, May 18, 2010
By Tanya EJ Lundberg (Northville, MI)
We bought this seat for our 1 year old son to ride in during our family bike rides. We love it and so does he! It's so great to have him in front of me. The seat did not affect my balance at all, my bike doesn't feel heavier and it only took a few minutes to get used to holding my knees out a bit wider to accommodate the seat (and I'm only 5'2"). It's amazing to be able to lean down and talk to my son and point out things that we see. He actually fell asleep at the end of our first bike ride in it and I gently laid his head on the front pad and he was fine until we got home. We love this seat and we are so happy we found it!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great purchase, October 11, 2009
By Arturo Centeno
This is a great product. If my daughter were to review it from her point of view it would get 5 stars. She went from riding in the back of trailer with limited visibility to riding on top of the bike with me. I really love the fact that I can interact with her. When we ride she can point to dogs and say "Doggy" or when she sees water she says "agua." It's a beautiful thing to see her enjoy the ride. Now I would rate this a three because the bar is very cumbersome to remove. I wish there would have been quick releases instead of 4 screws to remove every time you want to ride your bike without the bar. As a result I do not take the bar off and it is quite heavy, it does add some extra weight to your ride. There is one bolt that is screwed in from the chair to the bar to keep the seat in place. It can be difficult to line them up at times. Again here I wish a quick quick realease would have been put in place instead. Overall if you are looking to buy this for the experience you will have with your child it is a great product, I would buy it again. The extra troubles are worth the expression you get from your child.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, July 9, 2009
By Shirley
I bought this item for my husband for Father's Day. When it arrived, I was skeptical that it would work. Our son is 18 months old and weighs 24 lbs. The WeeRide looked like a doll would fit in it and nothing more. But, we tried it out before we made a final decision and so far we're very happy with the results.

It was easy to install (the bike was standard mountain bike). My husband said it wasn't too awkward to ride with the seat. And, my son loved it. The smile on his face when we went for our first bike ride was worth it.

I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome seat, January 21, 2009
By BZBoy (Jax, FL)
This seat came as described and our daughter loves it! The only issue is, the description does NOT tell you that it comes with the bike bar that the seat sits on. So I ended up purchasing another one for $20.00 and I didnt need to. Im going to hang onto it anyways in case we get another bike, because the seat detaches very easily. But overall it is a great product. Fits on my wifes 26" bike very well!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Super buy, May 21, 2010
By Kyle W. Stockton
This was a great buy. Our little guy loves it. I wasn't sure about purchasing a front mounted bike seat verses the typical one's.

Assembly was a snap. The seat comes on and off easy for the times you are riding alone. Getting him in and out of the seat alone isn't hard. The design of the front cushion where he can hold on and/or rest his head is cool. And he's done both. The quality of the product is first class.

Having him in front has lots of benefits. I can keep an eye on him better. He can see more and is enjoying the ride a lot more being in front. The issue of riding with your knees sticking out as you peddled has not been an issue. I really don't notice a difference.

Highly recommend this bike seat.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not for mountain bikes or road bikes, July 3, 2009
By M. Sakamoto (El Segundo, CA United States)
We liked the idea of our child sitting in the front, so we read the bike specs and bought the Wee Ride. But what the description should say is not for ANY mountain bike. Because of the handle bar location, it is impossible (unless you have a really, really, really small child) for the child to ride in this seat and sit up and look up at the same time. This product seems to be good for a regular bike, but not a mountain bike or road bike. We just feel extremely frustrated, diappointed, misled and out shipping money.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Maybe OK for small child but way to small for my average 2-yr old, June 8, 2011
By Ailis C. Aaron (Alexandria, VA United States)
I was very excited to order this seat but sadly disappointed when it arrived. Even with the leg piece extended all the way, it was way to small for my two-year old. My son is only 31 pounds and it said the weight limit is 40 so I assumed he would fit and he is average height (currently 35"), if not on the shorter side for his age. This seat was way too small. He refused to even try to sit in it as he was probably afraid he'd get stuck. Since you can't really get a helmet for a child under a year and my son is 2 yrs and 3 months, I would think this seat would have an extremely short window where a child would fit. Perhaps that explains why it is less expensive than some of the others.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  its pretty cool, July 13, 2010
By newmommy
I love this and so does my 1 year old the only thing I wasnt happy with is the buckles on the chair. On the picture online it shows thick straps that buckle like a carseat. The actual straps on this chair are thin and only have on buckle between the legs. I just wish I would have recieved exactly what the picture shows.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Definitely too small for 3-4 year olds., April 20, 2011
By kc's mom
The item is described as being suitable for kids up to 4 years old. My son is just 2 and a half and it was too small- The distance from the seat to the foot holders is just too short, even when they were adjusted to the max. So unless you have a really short 3 or 4 year old, you might want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, it appears sturdy enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Wee Ride LTD Kangaroo, November 28, 2011
By R Purg
I purchased this for my 18 month old daughter. She loves riding in it and seems comfortable. We go on 20-40 min rides. I feel she is safe and secure in it and I have full motion of my bike. I put this on a beach cruiser, but my neigbor has it on a regular mountain bike. It fits greats on both.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  No regrets: 3.5 Stars, November 24, 2011
By Miltiadis
The metal piece that mounts on the bike is very sturdy and well designed. The plastic seat itself with its footrests is a little flimsy but adequate for my 2.5 year old average size daughter. The seat can be adjusted back and forth on the metal piece but only slightly (mine is all the way to the front). My daughter is comfortable enough to doze off on it although she has not used the pad to place her head and sleep like the ad on the website shows (she prefers to lean back instead). The rider however has to get used to pedal with open knees and depending on the bike the handlebars might not turn full range - on my bike they stop on the seat. If you believe that placing the kid between you and the handlebars is better than behind you (in my opinion the kid in the front and between your legs is preferable as the bike's center of gravity remains centered allowing for great stability despite the added weight) then I can't really see how one would design it better than the WeeRide. It also allows for easy kissing access to your kid. It should handle from a 1.5yr old to an average-sized 4yr old - 40 lb kid no problem. The price is reasonable but check your local craigslist first.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Wee Ride, October 21, 2011
By Mehgan Brooke Merten (Phoenix, AZ)
All in all, I like this bike seat. My one year old fits well in it. I love that he can sit in front of me when we ride. It gives me better peace of mind being able to see him. However, it isn't super stable, it has a tendency to wobble a bit. Id feel better if the seat back came up higher, and if there was a chest clip like on my child's carseat.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy to install & the baby loves it!, October 3, 2011
By Gravey Baby's Mom (San Diego)
We researched a lot of bike seats before deciding on this one. My husband was able to install this seat in less than 30minutes. I am short (5'1") and was worried about being able to see over the seat as well as riding with it in front of me. I have a beach cruiser, and it fit with no problems whatsoever. I am able to see over the top and it doesn't affect my riding (other than having to ride slightly more open legged). I would recommend this seat over and over again! My little one loves going for rides...except for the helmet part : This is a great product, & the little extra you spend for the LTD padding is worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love this Bike Seat!!, September 24, 2011
By imanobrn
I love this bike seat, and so does my 3 year old. We take rides all the time, and he is so engaged, and I can actually hear and respond to him without taking my eyes of the road or speaking loudly. It took about 20 minutes to put together and you can use your bike without the seat as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Reviews can be misleading, August 27, 2011
By Deadqat
We got this so that I could take my 1 year old daughter on bike rides because she loves getting out of the house. My bike is a Diamondback Nitrus 24 BMX Bike (24-Inch Wheels) and there is almost no space between the frame and the handlebars. After reading the reviews I was sure there was no way this would attach to my bike in the front and if it did I would be very uncomfortable. In reality you only need about 1/8" to mount to in the front not 1" like other reviews say and riding is not that bad, I barely had to change my riding position. the only things I would mention is that my daughter likes to put her hands on my knees as I pedal occasionally. This isn't a problem just feels a little weird. I am very happy with this seat and the way it fits.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Five Stars All The Way, August 19, 2011
By JRL15
This is a great, quality product. The seat is NOT small as others have said. If it were a bigger seat it would impossible to ride the bike. My son loves it and it is definitely easy to install on to the bike. Great item that I highly recommend if you want to take a child bike riding.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  totally awesome, August 15, 2011
By beckybonjour
I was worried after reading reviews and even having a friend tell me she returned hers (she has extremely short and WIDE legs). I had no problem installing it onto a bike while my toddler was moving the bike around. 4 bolts and installing the seat. He LOVED!!! it. I pushed him around in it for a bit and he went crazy calling out and bouncing. He's 26 pounds and it held up really well. Limit of 40 lbs.

He really liked being up front, I am totally scared to death to have him trailing at ground level in one of those trailers, eeeppp! No way! this is the way to go, I can see his little body and tell how he's reacting the whole time, plus he's secure in his seat with a full frontal view.

To solve the mystery on how to ride the bike with this, it's just like riding a bike normally. I have long and sort of wide legs. I may have been holding my knees a little furhter apart than I normally do but it was NOT noticable.

I go for short errands around town or bike on trails. So Much Fun.!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Highly Recommended, July 29, 2011
By Deanna
Our 18 month old loves bike riding with us. The bracket was extremely easy to install, the foot rests were easy to adjust and our son (81cm tall, 24lbs) is completely comfortable riding in his new WeeRide seat. We had read many reviews and made our purchase based on the reviews and have not been disappointed. The attachment is on my husbands bike and although he had to slightly bow his legs to accommodate the seat, he has had no problems adapting to the new pedalling style. The price was in the range we were looking in and as mentioned, we have been extremely happy with our purchase. Happy riding!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best Child Bike Seat!, July 28, 2011
By J. Lee (Fontana, CA USA)
After a horrible experience with the iBert Safe-T Front Mounted Child Bicycle Seat, I went with the WeeRide Kangaroo. My 2 year old fit better in this seat, and it felt 100% stable and safe. Being able to keep an eye on and protect your little one is such a great feeling, and you know they will enjoy the ride much more by getting a front seat at the action!

Plusses over the iBert:
Much more secure
Will fit a larger child
Child does not turn with the handlebars
Should fit more bike styles
Padded area for them to hold on to so they don't touch the brakes/shifters

Wish I found out about the WeeRide seat from the start!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well, July 26, 2011
By ZeroGravityDeanO (Minneapolis, MN, USA)
I've taken my 15 month old daughter out on four bike rides so far, and she's had a blast! I think she likes being able to see what's going on. She's a bit of a chunk, but she fits fine in the seat, and when she gets tired she can lay her head on the padded front piece. The only downside is that when she gets fussy, she can grab at the handlebars and actually jerk the steering a bit. So, I need to keep both hands on the handlebars when she's in a mood.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  WEERIDE LTD, July 22, 2011
By WestAcres Willie
I rated the product a 5 because I could make it work and my grandson loves to go for a ride. However, I had to call the company because the directions contained a mistake. They said the directions would be corrected but I haven't received anything. The bar had to be installed on the bike seating post and not on the frame. I have no worries it is secure.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I love this seat!, July 21, 2011
By Mr. V (Utah)
seat worked great! like a 5-point harness seat for a baby. and the pad in front work great for the baby's head when she falls asleep, wants to hold on to something, or just pound her fists. the feet stands are adjustable to fit your baby's height, seat straps are adjustable, seats are coshioned, soft, and sturdy. A lot better then the rear seats because you can see you baby, and she can look up and see you, better than the hander bar seats because this seat is centers out the baby's weight. i though i'd have a problem riding with the seat between my legs, but in fact, its really comfortable, and does not cause a problem when i ride. the seat comes off easily. I really enjoy using this seat, and my baby loves going for bike rides. turns a lot of heads, i've been asked about it many of times.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  An Excellent Design, July 14, 2011
By Tanya Hervey (Rochester NH)
My two year old LOVES this bike seat! I was initially pleased to see a forward-mounting seat, and even more pleased with the price and quality of this item.

There was no learning curve for my little guy, and when my husband rides around with him, my little guy is very happy and comfortable; he has a "front row" seat with this bike seat, and that HAS to be better than having to stare at Daddy or Mommy's back during the ride.

I HIGHLY recommend this bike seat.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Disappointed, July 5, 2011
By CPhil
I was very excited to get this product; my son has been dying to ride our bikes with us since the spring. I was VERY disappointed upon receipt. Description claimed that it would seat a child up to 45lbs. My 2 year old toddler at 28lbs was cramped. It also claimed that the seat and mounting bar would fit "almost any" bicycle type. Well, I have 3 different bikes (6, if you count my wife's bikes that are identical except for size); mountain, hybrid, and road. The bar would not fit on any of them. Basically, this seat will only fit on a cheap bicycle. So, anyone that has a decent bike because they like to ride (and one would assume that is the type of person spending $60 for a toddler seat) is out of luck.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  WeeRide LTD Kangaroo child bike seat, June 28, 2011
By Little Rainbow (Austin,TX)
Wow, my son loves this thing! Its a wonderful item, if you need something affordable-but not super secure. My concerns are: the 3-point harness straps, always fall off his shoulders it needs an extra clip in the front (like a car seat). Luckily he's never fallen out of the seat and we've never crashed. I've modified it so that the straps don't slip off. Yes, you will have to ride a bit awkwardly, but its not a big issue. As for hills, I've climbed them and even stood up briefly to get the extra push needed-not recommended for an inexperienced rider. He loves when we fly down hills, but its something I avoid when possible. Otherwise for the time being, we love this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic invention!, June 20, 2011
By momof4iowa
I read all the reviews from several sights before purchasing this seat for my daughter. She is almost two and too short to reach the pedals on a trike and she so badly wanted to ride a bike with big sis.She is thirty pounds. It only took me a half hour to install this on my cranbrook cruiser bike. I was worried it may not fit due to the bike being a bit thick but it fit great. Plenty of rubber protection pieces to protect by bike from the hardware as well. All tools for installation were provided as well as easy to follow instructions. The seatlooks small but she had plenty of room. The seat has a 5 point harness as well. She loves it!!!! As I amnot an avid bike rider the bike with the seat with her in it was very easy to ride. I didnt have any balance issues at all and she was moving with excitement the entire time. It was easy to put her in the seat and take her out without even being on the bike.I just hung on to the bie so it would not tip. I recomend this seat to every parent. Well worth the price. We will get alot of use. I even take her to the daycare in it. I installed a basket on the front of my bike for her bag and my work items.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  <3 it, June 16, 2011
By Tom (HI)
We previously had a WeeRide seat but have two children so they would have to take turns riding with us. Both children ages 1 and 3 enjoyed riding along with us but hated sharing so we purchased a second WeeRide seat and installed it on our other bike and now both of them are able to ride and they love it because they can see everything instead of looking at our backs... also with the seat over the bar it centers the added weight of the child when riding.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  worth the money, June 13, 2011
By jkmillermom
PRO's: Very easy to install (Be sure to check out dimensions and that you have a bike that will be comfortable to ride with the WeeRide installed), love the adjustable legs, the front cushion was weird at first because my daughter couldn't see over it but then I realized how nice it was for her to put her head down and she even sleeps on it! The front cusion is detachable. You can very easily switch the WeeRide from one adult bike to another. BEST OF ALL...your child is in front of you in your embrace and not trailing behind at ground level!

CON's: I do wish the back of the seat was a bit higher but I think that is just a personal preference. I don't see a safety issue with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Really good Idea, June 10, 2011
By Eli mom
I love this bike seat. We purchased this for our 10 month old because we love to ride. This worked out great, its secure, easy to attach, and feels safe. Our little one gets to see everything we see instead of being behind us and not being able to see him. He can look back at mommy while he's riding and see his father and little brother when were all out on our bikes. This was a brilliant idea.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  lots of fun, May 21, 2011
By Rob (Florida)
I purchased this because my bike did not accept rear seats due to the way it was made. I have had it for a few weeks now. it was easy to install, and we immediately went for a ride. I love it, since my daughter can sit in the front and see everything. We would ride around and she points everything out. Its alot of fun. Initially, The shoulder straps fell off her alot and i and to use a string that i used with a needle to thread them closer at the back so they do not fall off the shoulders, and it worked fine. The unit was installed secure, but wish the plastic at the back was a little more stiff. I definately recommend this, and the shoulder strap issue, and the back support is why i gave it a 4 star. Also if you have a large kid, this will probably not be as good.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  WeeRide LTD Kangaroo Child Bike Seat-Great Deal, May 16, 2011
By R. Alamo (Columbus, Ohio United States)
Purchase made in March 2011. The WeeRide child bike seat is light weight, easy to install. We haven't used the head rest because he's more engaged in the riding. My husband manages to get him in the seat & mount the bike, I'm not so good at that maneuvering, I need assistance. My 11 year old pretty much installed the seat by himself, other than some tightening of screws. It's good value for the price you pay, which is 3 times less than the co-pilot-especially for strapping in a 1 - 3 yr old, after that, they pretty much are ready to biking themselves. It's very secure and the size is pretty good - our kid is a little bit chunky & short but he fits the seat well.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent alternative to other methods!, May 3, 2011
By Chris A Newsome (Kingsport, TN United States)
My wife and I purchased this to take our 2 year old daughter cycling with us. We installed this on my wife's Mongoose mountain bike, and she loves that our daughter is able to see everything and is safely tucked between her arms. The reason we rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is the change it made to her riding - it requires a slightly wider stride with the legs; otherwise, there is no difference.

We were skeptical at first appearance that our daughter would fit into this seat; she is 28 months old and weighs 27 lbs but is unusually tall for her age. The back of the seat is not intended to fully support the child's back like a car seat though, as the bike rider will be able to do that. However she fits into it just fine and we will probably be able to enjoy it throughout this year at least.

In all, we highly recommend this seat for anyone wanting to enjoy the outdoors with their children.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great child seat, April 26, 2011
By Tyner5
I went ahead and bought this seat for my baby. He is only 5 months old and the seat holds him in nicely. It is something that he will be able to use for quite some time. You do have to ride with legs a little gapped but is not a big deal. I would not recommend for extremely long bike rides. I do recommend the seat though. It was the nicest I have seen.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  ZERO stars, April 21, 2011
By bridesmaid (Ohio)
This product is horrible!!! It doesn't properly fit/install onto a bike, and even if you can get it somewhat on your bike....there is absolutely no room for you to pedal. Even the design of the seat itself is pretty flimsy. The back is much lower than it looks in the pictures, so your child basically has zero back support. It's a no wonder they put the big surface on the front; your child has no back support to lean back into, so they need something in the front to lean onto for the support they need. I wanted a bike seat that installed on the front of my bike because I wanted to see my child, but this seat wasn't going to work. RETURNED!!! Bought a Kettler seat instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good seat., April 15, 2011
By CMW
My daughter LOVES going on bike rides, had we gotten a seat that went on the back of the bike, I don't think she'd like it as much. The seat is easy to install and is nicely padded. To me, the seat seems a bit bulky. I've had to adjust the way I ride to accommodate the seat (keep my knees out a bit so I don't bump the seat). Stopping is a little trickier now since I can't get off the seat to steady my bike. I've found I can use one tip-toe to do the job. I'm a bit chesty and I have to wear a minimizing sports bra to allow my daughter to be able to sit up without my chest pushing her head forward.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  More stable than a back-mounted seat., April 3, 2011
By Kerri Johnson (Morris, IL United States)
Last year we enjoyed riding with our 1 yr-old son in a Bell rear-mounted seat. Now that he's almost 2 and 30 lbs I've noticed that the bike doesn't feel as stable during our rides with the rear-mounted seat so I started looking for alternatives. I thought I'd give the WeeRide a try and felt the price was reasonable compared to most other bike seats. It wasn't terribly difficult to mount on my bike-I did need some assistance from my husband. The seat is quite small and as with previous reviews the straps are a bit of a pain to adjust. I had to fiddle quite a bit with them to loosen them up enough to get my son strapped in. The seat is supposed to fit kids up to 4 years or 40 lbs-not sure how that would happen since my son isn't even 2yrs yet and I can't imagine kids much bigger fitting into this seat. Riding with the seat is a bit different since you do have to splay your knees out a bit. I'm almost 5'7'' and find that if I shift my weight back further in my own seat this helps. The inside of my knees do still brush the seat occasionally, but to me it's not a big deal. Riding up hills will be a challenge if you're out of shape since standing up to pedal is quite difficult-I did not have a problem with this. My son really does enjoy being up front and I feel much more stable on the bike with him in front of me now. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and even if my son outgrows the seat after this year it was worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great fun!, April 2, 2011
By Clay Robinson
Just strapped this onto my bike and took my 30 inch tall 20 lb 11 month old boy for a ride on my Giant Rincon and he loved it. He was laughing at people walking their dogs and didn't have any problems with the harness.

One small problem, having this in front of my seat makes it so that I cannot lower my body in front of the seat to put my feet down on both sides of the bicycle. This makes stopping something that I have to pay attention to, but it's not a big problem. I lowered my seat down to make mounting dismounting easier.

If you're a spandex clad endurance biker this might not be for you, but for a casual biker who wants to get their kid outside this is great, and it's nice having them in front of you, his head kinda balances between my upper arms as I pedal.

Wasn't all that hard to install. Took me a little bit as I'm not very mechanical.

I've never used a trailer and I wouldn't care to really, but I think this is probably better than a similar item that sits BEHIND the seatpost (like I remember my parents using with me) because the kid can see better and you can keep an eye on him, especially for very small children.

What a fun Saturday for us both!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LOVE IT!!!!!!!, March 22, 2011
By PrincessRN
I brought two of these seats because I wanted my children 2 1/2yrs old and 7mths to see in front of me and also wanted the opportunity to talk to them while we ride. I was a littler skeptical at first about purchasing this for my 2 1/2 yr old son because I thought he would be to big. But he was not. He loves riding with his father. It was really easy to assemble it took about an hour for both bikes.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Uncomfortable, awkward., February 13, 2011
By C. Poirier
I purchased this item for my toddler. I had no trouble installing it, but the location of the seat makes it very uncomfortable for the adult rider. I had to reach around the child to the handlebars, and my legs scrape the sides of the seat on every rotation of the pedals unless i splay my knees out awkwardly. You want one of these, you can have mine. Free. You pay for shipping. I'm presently shopping for a more traditional rear-mounted bike seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome seat! So much fun!, January 30, 2011
By A. DeBrecht
I got this so that I could ride my bike with my one year old. It takes a little bit of time to mount. It's not difficult, just a little tedious. It fits on my Schwinn Frontier perfectly. I can have it as far forward as possible on the mounting bracket and still have complete range of motion in the handlebars. It's amazing how the bike doesn't really feel any different in terms of balance even with the added weight. It's really nice.

I put my daughter in it on a couple of occasions prior to mounting it. This allowed me to adjust the straps on it and to let her feel it out a bit. Once it was on the bike, I strapped her in and we went on our first short ride. She LOVED it! If we stopped for too long, she'd hop in the seat as if to say "Let's go!".

She seems comfortable. No complaints yet. I do have to adjust my knees out to the side a bit but it's not incredibly uncomfortable. It's definitely worth what you get. I love having her in front of me because I can hear her and see what she's doing and talk to her. I am also used to standing up on my bike to get leverage up hills but that's not really possible with the seat installed. Guess I'll just have to build up different muscles.

Great seat. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LOVE IT!, October 5, 2010
By E Lu
Love this bike seat! Our one year old adores his bike rides - he even hums as dad pedals! It is very comfortable and easy to install. The only slight issue is that the shoulder straps don't always stay put. We had to make them pretty tight, other than that it is fantastic! My husband did a ton of research on these seats and compared other brands, this seat met all our needs! It also had the best weight capacity (our son is on the heavier side) so we will be able to use it for a longer time. LOVE IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Wee Ride, August 19, 2010
By Lisa M-Michigan
I purchased the WeeRide after researching MANY other bike seats/trailers. I wanted my daughter to be a part of the action, not watching my back side the whole trip. The WeeRide was the perfect option for us. We LOVE it and so does she. I have an Electra Beach Cruiser (Hawaii Custom) and the bar just barely fit, but now that it's installed, we have had no problems. It's very easy to take the seat off and on and I feel really secure having her in front of me. My daughter is really tall, so I don't think I will be able to use it much past the age of 2, but it's definitely worth it! Occasionally she grabs at the handlebars, but I put a basket on the front of the bike, now she tries to get at that instead! I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting another option to the old standby rear mounted seats or bike trailers.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love it!, August 3, 2010
By Mom (Evanston IL)
I love the WeeRide! Biking with my 1 year old daughter has been a great bonding experience. I am able to easily talk to her as we are looking at the same things. I love having her in front of me, instead of behind where we wouldn't be able to communicate well. The first time we went biking I was the one saying, "Weeeeee" the whole time! I'm so happy with this purchase.

Attaching the mounting bar that the child seat sits on was a little difficult. I have a mens bike that didn't have a lot of room from the bottom of the handle bar to the top of the bar to easily fit the mounting bar of the WeeRide in between that space. I also had to permanently raise my seat up so the WeeRide mounting bar could attach underneath it, which now makes it hard for me to reach the floor comfortably. If I was taller (5'3") then it wouldn't be a problem.

Other people have mentioned having to ride with your knees pointing out and that was true for me too. Although it wasn't a problem and barely noticable since I am on the short side. These two slight problems are both due to the type of bike I have, not the product in particular. The riding experience is well worth the slight troubles. I highly recommend the WeeRide!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  just what we wanted, July 30, 2010
By pff7g
I have a K2 hybrid bike I use to commute around town. The handle bars mount in a similar way as a mountain bike. This carrier fits well. It is easy to install. The padding is good (I read a review that complained about the padding quality). The seat belt is also good - it is a nice harness that goes over both shoulders of the child & has padding (there was also one bad review of the seat belt). I do need to pedal with my knees slightly futher apart than normal, but it is only a minor change & still quite comfortable to ride. The actual seat position can be adjusted an inch or two, which allows you to personalize the fit. I am ~6ft tall & ride a normal, adult-sized bike.

Overall this is a great product. The negative reviews were most likely from those who purchased the non-LTD model (less padding, fewer features). The LTD is worth the few extra $$.

We love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, May 15, 2010
By turbomaker
We bought this item first before buying a bicycle to make sure it would fit. We bought a Schwinn Protocol 1.0 from Amazon (great bike) and this fit perfectly. The front of the bar is smaller on the area that goes around the gooseneck, so it will fit most bikes (I think).

We have an 18 month old girl, and she fits into the wee ride perfectly. We have ridden around out neighborhood for about a month now. The product was easy to assemble, and was perfect out of the box. Since we leave the bike outside, we remove the seat each time we use it. The harness works but gets a little twisted. The snaps are fine, and getting her in and out is no issue. She loves to hold onto the front padded area, although the padding is not cut perfectly to fit the plastic underneath. Her feet fit into the foot boxes, and sometimes she takes them out but puts them back in again.

I am 5'8" on the bike and can keep my chest off of her helmet when riding. I keep my knees just slightly outside of where they would normally be to clear the wee-ride. I can go up hills and along the roads with no real loss of power.

Anyway, we get a lot of looks from other parents, many people ask about it. My daughter really likes it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  As good as it can get., November 2, 2009
By Hong Nguyen (Elk Grove, CA)
I have twins...a boy and a girl. They will not sit in anything...but this seat, they love it. No longer any more screaming when we go bike riding. I used to put them in the Chariot Cougar bike trailer. They hate anything that separates them from us. They love this seat because it puts them right in front of us, practically in our arms. Now, they ask us to go bike riding and we sing and talk as we ride. The seat is well cushioned, seat belt is well made and I feel very safe and in control having my child sit in front of me. We have the Trek bikes and my husband took about 15 minutes to install each of them. The only negative thing is...the description said that this seat is made for kids up to 40 pounds. My twins are now 27 months and weighs 30 pounds each. I don't see them being able to fit in it when they are 40 pounds. Right now, they pretty much take up any space that is available between their seat and my handle bars.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LOVE IT!!!! Don't go without this product!!, October 9, 2009
By Jodi Long
We've purchased two. Our three year old still loves to ride in his and our 15 month old begs to go on a bike ride. This is a quality product that is a must have for any parent that can ride a bike. It is plastic but it's not cheaply made and you can tell it was made with pride. We have them on our cruiser bikes. People stop us and ask us where we got them.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I love this child bike seat, September 8, 2009
By J. Kim (Los Angeles)
My daughter loves this seat, it looked like it might be a little cramp but was a perfect fit. Installation was easy, all the tools needed were included in the box. Well balanced compared to rear seats. Just takes a little adjustment to when riding, since your child is siting right in front of you, which is strange if you are use to riding a certain way. I had to lower my seat postion to make it safer to get on and off. The padded front head rest is genius! If your child gets tired they can just rest their head without flopping around. Also the harness is secure, adjustable, and comfortable. Lastly, I think this was made in the USA which is a plus for me in this ecomomy. A Great buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Mounting assistants, September 2, 2009
By K. Craig
This seat is great. My child and I are able to talk the entire time we are out on the bike. I did have some problems with installing the mounting brace to the frame of my bike. There is not enough room near the steering column to mount the brace. So, this is what I did, because I was not about to give up on this seat. I bought a pvc pipe that was 1in. dia. with a thick wall (not the 1/8in thin wall). I cut the pipe about 2 1/2in long and then placed it around the handle bar stem (the part of the handle bars that goes into the frame). Then I mounting the brace around the pvc and tighten. Now, tightening the brace on the pvc does tighten down on the handle bar stem alittle, but it acts like a steering stabulizer for me. We have gone riding 5-6 times at 1 hour to 1.5 hours at a time and a feel that my child is very secured with my modified mounting.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Investment, August 19, 2009
By Totalpkg428 (Chicago)
This is a great bike seat - one that I have no regrets on purchasing. I have shopped on Amazon for a few years but this is the first review that I have taken the time to write. I am 5'3 and own a Trek 7100 WSD bike - 14inch. It was somewhat difficult to install the seat becasue I did not take time to read the directions. I had to separate the bars, install separately and then attach in the center. When I first took it out of the box I did not think that my 2 yr old - 30lb - 38 inch - shoe size 8.5 son would fit - BUT HE DOES!! More importantly - HE LOVES IT!! My reason for posting this review is because I was very skeptical that this would work - based off my height BUT when it went on sale for $40 - I had to try it!! I WISH I had broken down last year as I KNOW that next year he will be too tall for it. My son ABSOLUTELY LOVES HIS BIKE SEAT! When we ride my knees are slightly pointed outward BUT it dosen't bother me at all. The only problem was coming to complete stop. Instead of jumping off the seat to stop - I lean slightly to the left or right.... that took a little getting use to... but we both love it and have been going bikeriding every day that we can.... I'm glad that they improved the padding on the seat because the bike ride always sends my son to sleep... I wish they made a bigger seat so that I wouldnt have to invest in a burley..... but this seat has great memories!!! Don't hesitate!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic bike seat solution for toddlers!!!, May 23, 2011
By Kona408
We purchased this bike seat for our 18 month old after seeing it featured in some celebrity photos in People Magazine. We figured, "If it's good enough for Matthew McConaughey, it's good enough for us". This bike seat did not disappoint.

The construction and materials are quite superior and very sturdy, yet still very lightweight. The seat comes with padded cushions on the seat, back, and front pedestal which is great for little tushies on long bumpy rides. Our little one actually fell asleep on a ride and was able to use the padded front pedestal as a headrest! The foot rests are vertically adjustable to grow with the child and the seat belts are fully adjustable.

The most notable feature of this bike seat is the forward placement design. Most other seats we looked at were designed for the rear of the bike, which we felt was not ideal since the child is not easily visible nor accessible. With this seat the child is safely tucked in front of the adult rider allowing the rider to easily monitor the child and, if needed, protect the child in the event of a fall. This design also allows the adult rider to safely, quickly, and conveniently mount and dismount the bike without the risk of accidentally kicking the child.

The installation was quite simple (about 1 hour total); however, we did have to remove and re-install the mounting bar twice after a few test rides just to get to perfect fit. I have a mountain bike with an over-sized head tube, but luckily the installation kit comes with extra long hex bolts for this reason. And because the seat is easily removable from the mounting bar with just a single hex bolt, I can still go on solo rides without having to uninstall the whole thing.

The only minor drawbacks (and they are very minor) to this bike seat are that my knees bump into the seat a bit so I end up having to ride with my knees pointed outward; the cushions are not removable for washing, but can be spot cleaned; and lastly, with the mounting bar installed, I cannot raise or lower my own seat without first loosening the mounting bar.

Overall, we absolutely love this bike seat. Our little one loves this seat mostly because he gets a fantastic view of the road as opposed to watching daddy's sweaty back. Because he is safely tucked into my arms during a ride, we can easily talk and hear one another without having to turn around which makes for safer, more interesting and more interactive bike rides.

Although this is actually a great child bike seat, it's smaller than the recommended age and weight that Amazon lists. I am a loyal Amazon advocate because their products are usually as pictured and described, but this one was definitely wrong. Not a deal breaker, but be aware that this seat is designed for a smaller child, probably up to 20 pounds max, not the 40 pounds listed in the ad. Watch the video and judge for yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very good product, December 3, 2011
By Merritt Aho
Would have given 5 stars but I thought the foot rest design was weak - should either extend further or be removable.

Pros: easy to install/remove (at least the seat part), allows biker to balance weight extremely easy, comfortable for the child, nice to have the kid right in front of you.

Cons: foot rest not removable/doesn't extend too far (rated for children up to 40 lbs, but they will outgrow it long before then), rider must adjust the way you pedal to accommodate, not suitable for rides longer than a few miles.

Net: great product for the price, exactly what we needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  WeeRide perfect for Beach Cruiser bike, January 6, 2012
By Kdlc
I have a Nerve beach cruiser and was nervous a rear bike seat would not work with my fenders so I decided to go for the front seat style. I LOVE IT! I installed it myself - but my husband will tell you I'm pretty handy - but still it was easy! And there is no damage to my bike so when we are done with it my bike is still perfect! My son loves his seat too! He's a big 1 yr old and I read a review about the foot guards being small but they were fine with fat crocks on and the seat is snug but there is room to grow with the seat. When we got done with our first "test ride" he grabbed my hand and drug me back to the bike pointing and grunting for another ride! I was also REALLY concerned about having to peddle wide to compensate for the seat between my legs - I am 5'8" and I barely had to adjust for my knees, it's not noticeable enough to make any strange muscles sore or bother me. I also wondered about my son being able to grab the handle bars. Yes, he can hold on to them, but he tends to either put his hands on the padded ledge or on his lap so it hasn't been an issue for us. Shipped quickly and I would recommend this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very fun for my husband & toddler!, January 4, 2012
By 2LiveIsChrist2DieIsGain
My kids and I gave this to my husband for Christmas and at first he was hesitant about it...But now after using it a few times he LOVES it and really enjoys riding around and going to the park with our 22 mos. old.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it is definitely on the smaller side. After reading reviews about how small it was I was expecting small but when I opened the pkg it was even smaller than I had expected. I did put my son it in before we gave it to dad and he seemed large in the seat. The width of the seat was fine but my sons back went much higher than the back of the seat and his legs and feet just fit perfectly in the foot stirrups for now. He will soon out grow it though.

I am happy to see that it fits my husbands Specialized bike as well as my Marin bike. I wasn't sure if it would fit onto the bikes but it does! We do use it without the headrest piece and our son just grabs onto the inner parts of the handle bars while riding. We can always add the headrest if it's a longer ride.

Overall I chose this bike seat so that we could have our children sit in front of us and in case there is a fall it is easier to wrap your arms around them and protect them versus having a seat behind you and not being able to give any extra protection to your child.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love this!, January 3, 2012
By Mamabear
Great product. My one year old went for rides with me all summer in this seat. I have a crusing bike that this atached to with no problem. It won't attach to my husbands road bike, but I knew that before I purchased it. It was easy for me to install with a few basic tools and doesn't get in my way while riding. You do have to ride with your knees slightly out, but not much.
I love that I can watch my son while I am riding. He asks to go for bike rides all the time.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  quality product but not for us, December 24, 2011
By hidad
The seat was well-made and our 2yr old loved it but there were two main issues that made us return it. One, my wife, who's 5'4" had trouble pedaling and keeping her balance with the seat; she even fell over once. Two, the harness straps didn't seem very secure, which when combined with the balance issues and the fall, meant that she didn't want to use it for her bike. May work great for others but not for us.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Awkward!, December 10, 2011
By C. D. Hood (Anywhere the military sends me, USA)
I purchased this product - oh my word - awkard to have my 22 pound daughter on my mountain bike! I have to widen my hips and thighs in order to peddle my bike with this bike seat attached. I'm 5'5" - very average proportions. I purchased this thinking "yea! my daughter doesn't have to stare at my backside when we go on bike outings!"....yeah...I'd rather have her in the backside view than have this thing on my bike. Stick to a back seat attachment or a bike trailer than this.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Much better than the Ibert, November 7, 2011
By Ethan's Mom (Cupertino)
We borrowed the ibert from a friend to see if we'd like it. It was ok however there are some major flaws. The ibert DOES NOT fit on male mountain bikes. We tried on 2 different mountain bikes (specialized and another brand) and on both it was impossible to put on. Also the ibert makes it difficult to steer and the kids can mess with your gears.

This was much better than the ibert. It's really easy to install and fit perfectly on my husbands mountain bike. The seat does look ridiculously small but both my child (1.5 years old) and his cousin who is 2.5 years old fit perfectly in it. They are both of average weight and height for their age so I think this could easily fit a 3-4 year old. If you are short this seat might not work for you as my husband who is 5'9 bikes slightly bow legged with this seat but is not uncomfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Ready set Goooooo!, February 8, 2012
By LoneShark
My daughter loves the wee ride, aside from the trouble I had with attaching it to the bike on my own and my being a dummy having attached it to low and needing to place it higher and using the little tools with my big hands was really frustrating my daughter saying ready set goooooo as we ride made it all worth it this is so awsome I feel a lot better with her between my arms rather than behind me I think this is a must have item for parents.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Conceptually it's awesome; practically it's a little bulky., November 21, 2011
By World's best Dad!
My boy is on the upper end of the size chart for this seat so that is definitely a factor so anything I say that is less than flattering. It is conceptually great. I love the idea and my boy definitely likes it. It is comfortable for him, less so for me, but that is in part because of my aforementioned caveat.
I had to raise my seat up all the way for full leg extension and power. I can't stand up to peddle because it knocks the kid on the back of the head.
Balance and weight distribution are great. Kid experience is great. Installation and adjustment are pretty easy. I want to love it but I can't. If you start using it earlier than I did, I think you can love it.
It is easier than holding your child in one arm and riding with him on your hip though; that is for sure.

The only Con for this item are the harness straps which never really stay in place -- i feel it could ahve been fixed if they had a car seat style 3 point harness. but kiddo loves riding around.

By Bonepicker
I like the new features on this WeeRide compared to my earlier model. The only thing I would like different would be having the adjustable foot section go lower so an older child would have more leg room. All my grandchildren have enjoyed riding the WeeRide.

When we first open the box, we got a little discouraged however, set up was very easy and, my 10 month old son just LOVES to ride w/dad. I would definitely recommend this product to other parents.

i love it. 11 month old baby loves it. you do have to peddle a little funny - with your knees pointed a little out, but it is worth it!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good, Almost Perfect., April 8, 2012
By Javier (My House in CA)
Item is Good, Well made and light.Almost perfect. Bad thing it's for small kids. My daughter loves it . But My 2year old daughter fits snug and tight in the chair. She's a Tall little girl. It will probably wont work for us when shes 3-4 years old. Hopefully by then she learns to ride her bike. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bike Seat, April 2, 2012
By NYER (NYC)
My daughter loves to ride in this seat. The seat was very easy to attach to my bike (hybrid) and with the turn of one knob you can easily remove it. I do agree with some other reviewers that you do have to bow your legs out so your knees don't bump into the seat. However, the benefit of seeing and talking to my daughter while we ride is well worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Love it But Cant use it!, March 21, 2012
By Sunshine
We just got this from UPS less then 5 mins ago. We were so excited. Opened the package and my husband and I looked at each other and knew it wouldn't fit our son. But just in case we put him in it (in the kitchen with hubby holding the back) there is no way! My son is 1 1/2 but he is tall and skinny. He is just over 23 lbs. He is just too tall. We are going to have to return it. It would fit our neighbors kid just great, she wears size 6-12 month old clothing. LOVE the concept, it just wont work with our kid. Nicely built.
