Need a bike light but don't want to mount it on your handlebar? Turn to the Minoura light mount, which attaches securely to your suspension fork to light the path ahead. The advantage to a fork-mounted light is that it can make the light seem brighter while also clearing your handlebar area. The mount is equipped with a stainless band clip that attaches to forks between 22mm and 38mm in diameter, so you can attach it to a variety of bikes. Plus, the mount itself is well constructed, with a body made of glass-wool-reinforced nylon that's UV- and rain-resistant. And thanks to the 22mm diameter body, the mount fits almost every light type.

 Simple solution for better light, May 4, 2011

I mounted this on the fork of my bicycle in about five minutes. It's easy to install and does just what you'd like -- it puts the light closer to the road and gets it off your handlebars. If you don't have much space on your handlebars or if the view forward is blocked by a handlebar bag or basket or something like that, this little mount will solve your problem. I can still reach down and turn the light off and on while riding, which is good. The mount seems sturdy and solid; I'm not concerned it's going to break or snap off. In all, it seems like a great solution so far.

Used this with Arkon GPS032 GPS and Smartphone Waterproof Hard case with Bicycle and Motorcycle Mount (Black) on handlebars of a TNG Venice (YAMAHA Vino clone) scooter. Was a little annoying to install, but fit perfectly where I needed it.

An Excellent Light Mounting Option, July 10, 2011

If your front steel fork has no brazed-on eylets for placing light mounts, the Minoura Besso Headlight Mount might be just the ticket for placing lights on your front fork. It is very straight-forward in mounting, coming with rubber spacers and a clamping mechanism for attachment. Every light I had from Planet Bike lights to my MiNewt attaced securely. I put it on a 1989 Bianchi Tangent which had no provisions for mounting something like the Paul Gino Mount. It's only limitation is the warning in the instructions that direct you to mount the Besso on the bottom 1/3 of the front fork.

Mounted this on the suspension fork on my Trek for additional lighting. Works great. Took only a couple minutes to install and adjust. Ordered a couple more for my other bikes.

These mounts work perfectly for mounting lights low without worrying about eyelights. I have been using a pair of them for several months to hold Planet Bike Blaze 1 W lights (the quick release easily fits on these mounts and I can still pull the lights off without trouble). I worried for a while about splash for otherwise soaking the lights, which does happen somewhat, but the huge improvement in the quality of the light on the road is far more than worth it. (My front wheel also ends up nicely lit up, so my visibility from cars approaching on the side is vastly improved.) I've had no trouble with these mounts since installing, and I use my bike every day to commute. Even when the mounts get bumped by another bike in a rack or similar, they don't move to any significant extent.

Solid Fork Mount For Your Headlight!, December 12, 2011

Mounts securely to my fork on my Cannondale hybrid. My NiteRider headlight mounts tightly onto this mount. If you want real usable light on the ground so you can see obstacles like roots, cracks, or broken glass, this mounts allows me visibility out 15 yards. Love it.
