The handlebar-mounted Polar CS100 combines all the features of a high-end cycle computer with a fully functional heart rate monitor--the Polar T31 coded transmitter. (The similarly featured CS100B offers heart rate monitor compatibility, but does not come with a monitor.) The CS100 provides a full range of cycling computer functions, and adds three new features to Polar's arsenal: the Polar Cycling Coach (a Web-based coaching program and diary), estimated time of arrival (based on your speed), and automatic display scroll, which switches the information on the display according to your preferences. Features include: - Wireless ECG accurate heart rate with Polar OwnCode (5kHz) to prevent cross-talk from other heart rate monitors
- Target heart rate zones with visual and audible alarms
- Graphical comparison of heart rate and speed
- Heart rate measurements: maximum of total and each lap, average of total
- Cycling measurements: Speed (current, average and max); trip; distance
- Calorie consumption rate per kilometer
- Wheel size settings for two bicycles, speed sensor installation for different fork shapes
- Automatic lap recording (up to 50 laps) with exercise date
- Exercise file info page with date and time
- Semi-automatic backlighting
- Water resistance to 10 meters (protects against rain and splashes)
- SpeedPointer: Points out the difference between average speed/pace and actual speed/pace on the display by up/down arrows.
- Estimated Time of Arrival: Set the distance you are going to ride, and your cycling computer calculates the estimated time of arrival based on your cycling speed.
- Polar OwnCal: Shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals.
- Compatible with Polar WearLink 31 and Polar T61 coded transmitters

Not yet finished, January 8, 2010

I received the product promptly. Installed and the unit will not register speed. Currently I have an RMA # to return the defective product back @ my expense. I'm skeptical of the return policy but have called and been reassured there will be no issues. In the meantime, I called Polar USA and was told that they will not honor their warranty if I purchased through jomashop. The guy at Polar told me that jomashop is not authorized to sell their products. Now I am very skeptical how the rest of this experience will finish up. I think I going to ask for a refund and be finished with this. I've never heard of a manufacturer not honoring it's products if they where purchased by a certain retailer! I say look at a different product!

Polar CS100, September 21, 2009

Works as advertised. I wanted to track calorie burn, speed and distance as some key metrics during my rides and the CS100 does that very well.
Setup was easy enough but it did take me some time to ensure that I aligned the speed sensor magnet with the speed sensor itself. But once aligned it was fine. I highly recommend this product.

Pretty good, but might fall off, September 8, 2010

I like this computer because it supposedly does the three things I wanted (heart rate monitor, speed, and cadence) for a good price. However, I haven't gotten the cadence to work for me yet although I haven't fiddled with it a whole lot--the speed was just auto-picked up and so I thought cadence would be that simple as well (doesn't seem to be). The other two seem to work fine.
I am sad that it doesn't have a temperature monitor as there are cheaper computers out there that do this simple thing.
I also have mixed feelings about not being able to see everything on one screen--you have to cycle through screens to be able to see distance traveled, average speed, current speed, time of day, time of ride. You can't customize these screens which would be a nice feature so the 3-4 things you look at most would be on one view.
My biggest complaint is that as I was biking last weekend, the computer ended up falling off my bike while going over some bumpy road. The computer stayed attached to the mount, but the mount just relies on a really tight zip tie on each side to keep it on the bike. The cadence and speed pieces have holes for the zip ties that hold them in place without worrying about a tie bouncing out of its original position. I am not sure why the rubber piece for the computer mount doesn't have these same holes. I will have to figure out something safer before my next ride.

It works, February 14, 2011

It works as advertised. It took about 20 minutes to install without rushing on my suspended mountain bike. The speed sensor will work with a gap of over 1/4" between it and the magnet, I set it at just under 1/8". The transmitter does not need to be mounted parallel with the wheel, I have mine angled towards it so there is an even gap of around 5/16" between it and the spokes. The computer picks up the speed sensor up to 40" away so it should work with about any bike. I have mine mounted on the stem and it works fine. Everything mounts with zip ties but just finish tightening them up with a pair of pliers before clipping the tie ends off. I have been on a few rides with plenty of bumps with no problems. I purchased a hear rate transmitter separately so I could change the battery and it works with no problems as well. I gave 4 stars because it is just a basic computer that is worth what was paid.

Beware of sellers, November 29, 2010

I bought this product from JomaShop, I still think this product has a really good value but not thanks to them...
The overall appearance of the product made it look like old and used.
+ The box was damaged, dirty, stained and looked as if it had been stabbed.
+ Cycling Computer buttons were dirty too, and it seemed highly manipulated by others before.
+ The bags containing the accesories of the product appeared to be reused and old.
+ It did came with a manual, sadly it's written in an unreadable language.
+ The Transmitter and Belt Set advertised in the images of the product were not included in the package.

Where's the transmitter?, November 23, 2010
By Daniel A

What this page doesn't tell you is that in order to get a heart rate reading you need to buy the transmitter separately. I assumed that the picture of the transmitter on the product page means it comes with one. But guess what I WAS WRONG!!! Apprently, the CS100b comes without a transmitter (the CS100 has one). The seller would only sell me a transmitter separately and Amazon would only refund me if I return the cyclometer AT MY OWN EXPENSE. Being overseas now, it works out expensive. This was my most disappointing online buying experience ever.

This Polar Cyclocomputer is Very Complete.
Remember that this Model DOES NOT include the Heart Rate Belt. You must buy it separately.
This Monitor is a good option, I would recommend this to a friend.
