Toddler bicycle seat, December 21, 2010
By Krum (Morgan City, La. United States)

We bought two of these based on the brand name Schwinn and they certainly live up to the name. Easy to install, everything fit without modifications. Assembly time probably no more than 20 minutes for the first one and 15 minutes for the second. All you need are a phillips screw driver and 10mm wrench, it's that simple.
As for child safety, the seats seem to be very well thought out with adjustable foot rests and leg straps, dual shoulder straps, and a lap bar. I don't see how your child could possibly get out of this seat once all the restraints are secured.

Lots of Pros only a few Cons, June 21, 2011
By A. Burns

I tried 2 other carriers before this one and it was the best so far. My daughter loves it! I would buy it again.
Just an FYI- the instruction sheet states "Do not use this carrier on bikes with rear suspension" this was nowhere on the box.
Pros:
-Child seat is easy to remove and just leaves the "cargo rack" so if you want to ride without the child you don't have to breakout the screwdriver and wrench (LOVE THIS!)and you can use the cargo rack for other things
-Very heavy duty plastic and stable...other seats were saw were very thin plastic
-Love the headrest extension which is not pictured here but is easy to install and remove based on the child's height
-bar across the seat raises up for easy buckling
-Numerous safety features
Cons:
-My 2 year old daughter was wearing crocs and her feet were too wide for the foot holes. Also, the Velcro straps that go across the shins are a little odd. Side note: My daughter only weighs 26lbs right now and she pretty much fits perfectly...I do not see how a 40lb child could fit in this carrier.
-I have a cruiser bike ([...]) and when we mounted the brackets like the instructions said the carrier was tilted forward, i ended up having to raise my seat to get the carrier level enough for my daughter to ride.

Love it!, May 14, 2011

We installed this bike seat as soon as we got it and took it for a spin. It was fairly simple to install (with directions!) and my 1yo. son loves going for bike rides in it! I also like that we can buy a separate rack and be able to swap just the seat between Mommy and Daddy's bikes. That was a huge selling point for me anyway..

Great purchase, July 6, 2011

I purchased this bike seat so that my husband could pick up my daughter from daycare. It was easy to install and even easier to sit my daughter in the seat. The only issue is that my daughter is so young, 14 months, that when she is wearing a helmet, the back of the seat is pushing the helmet forward, so her head ends up on her chest. We are going without a helmet for now, and once her head clears the top of the seat, the helmet is going back on.
Otherwise, a great buy!

Baby boy enjoys it., July 29, 2011

Bought this so that my toddler son could accompany my wife and I on bike rides.
Seems plenty sturdy enough for it's intended purpose, install simply enough and keeps the baby boy adequately restrained (although he does like to play with my belt loops while he's back there). In all, I don't have a single complaint, would definitely buy another.

Pretty Good seat, April 23, 2012
By Katrina A. Roux

I think this is great bike seat for my son. Some minor things that irk me are the shin straps are in a weird spot, I had to raise my seat up in order to install the seat and the seat is very upright so if my son falls asleep his head bobs forward. Other than that it has sturdy construction and my son enjoys the seat

way too complicated to install, and not for 1 year old, May 9, 2012
By S. Shin (Chicago)

DOnt' reccomend this prodcut unless your child is at least 2-3... but even then, it's not really easy to install or pyut together. my husband is an EXCELLENT handyman and puts everything togehter around the house, but this he just didn't even want to deal with. The iBert he installed in 10 min. THis one had a flimsy gaurd to protect the legs for the child...which we didnt feel too comforatable with.
Dont recommend

Comfortable and Easy to Assemble, October 8, 2011
By Bonnie English
|

We bought this for our 13 month old son. He loves riding in it. He points to it constantly, asking to go for bike rides. We didn't have any problems with assembly. And, it's easy to take off and put back on. I would highly recommend this for people looking at bike carriers.

Bike carrier, October 6, 2011

This is a very nice child carrier. It was easy to install. It was installed on a moutain bike with no problems. My son loves it. He is 18mo old. There are foot straps plus the footrests are manually ajustable to fit different heights. Straps shaped in a Y are fastened across the chest. Plus there is a plastic bar that crosses over the child carrier. I highly recommend this child carrier.

Happy to have this for my bike, September 26, 2011
By Sonoma Mommy (Windsor, CA, US)

I purchased child carrier to go on my Schwinn Link Comfort bike. It took me about an hour to assemble but once that was done, I've had no problems. I love that it can be easily removed without the use of tools when I don't need it. Both my 2 year old and my 4 year old have ridden in it. Its sturdy and seems comfortable for them. My 2 year old begs to go for rides all the time. Occasionally my heels will graze the foot rests of the seat but its very minor. I did away with the shield as it looked cheap and was more of a hinderance. Matches my bike perfectly. I'm sure we'll get lots of wear out of it before my 2 year old starts riding her own bike.

My daughter likes this carrier very much and enjoys sitting in it during our bike tours. Sometimes she fell asleep in it, so it is at least somewhat comfortable. It is easy to fix to and remove from the bike.

I bought this seat for my 18-month old son, and we both love it! I have a Schwinn bike- the seat was pretty easy to install, and my son is very comfortable in it. It seems very sturdy, and I feel that my son is absolutely safe riding in it. Every time we come back from a bike ride, he begs for more! This is an excellent product- especially for the price!

Setup was very easy and our 16 month old son loves riding in this seat. I looked at multiple different models and this one had everything for a great price. The quality seems sturdy and he seems comfortable and happy riding on the back of my road bike.

Easiest one ever !, February 12, 2012

This seat is great. Most of them are so overcomplicated and take so much time to install this Schwinn seat was a welcomed pleasure to add to our mountain bikes. The install was easy as could be. Only took about 25 minutes, a few hand tools and you are done. Our daughter loves the seat and so do we because we can get out and enjoy the boardwalk with her. Great product, super safe and very well built and put together.

My 1 year old loves riding in this seat. My only complaint is not a lot of padding and his head flops forward when he falls asleep. But for the price it's worth it. He's not complaining at all. And I love hearing him squeeling with excitement on the back of my bike. :-)

Easy, sturdy, safe, March 29, 2012
By Matthew G

Really pleased with the seat thus far. For the price, it's a quality seat that should be useful for babies less than a year old to 2 or 3 years of age (my guess based on the size). The rack attaches to the bike in about 15 minutes and then you can take the seat itself on and off of the rack in just a few minutes.

I can feel the screw under my seat, March 26, 2012
By Chanel (San Diego)

This took me longer to install then putting the bike together that this was going on! What I think made it most difficult are the instructions. The photos that the instructions were referring to were on the opposite side of the paper so having to flip back and forth was a pain.
I have short legs so need to have the saddle stem pretty low so when I put the clamp under the seat the screw sticks out just enough that when I peddle, I hit the screw every rotation.
Overall sturdy seat and my son enjoyed our afternoon of riding, though he kept saying this way, this way, trying to direct my steering!

Excellent Seat, March 25, 2012
By Baku

I was able to install this child carrier on my mountain bike in about 25 min. Installation was easy and straight forward, didnt even have to look in the manual at all. our two year old enjoyed our bike rides from day one. Although she is in the rear of the bike she still has a good view of the surroundings so that keeps her entertained during rides. I'd assume that the seat is comfortable for her as she never cried in it or wanted to get out. I think the seat is pretty safe too and doesnt limit your body movements as other front seats do.
The rack is very sturdy once installed and doesnt move. I think it'll hold the weight of the adult too.
My only complain is that it is very difficult to maneuver (as manual states :) the safety metal pin when you slide the seat on the rack as this pin is on the bottom of the seat and it is somewhat difficult to make sure it is in horizontal position (it has the spring mechanizm to keep it in the vertical position to ensure that the seat is secured to the rack and not moving) when sliding the seat any direction. I pinched my fingers a few times now I am using a flat item such as screwdriver or a pen to hold it in the position. I guess it is a minor issue and could be solved easily but I just wanted to point it out anyways.

Can be dangerous!, March 28, 2012
By A. C. Scheel (Ewa Beach, HI)

So this child seat that we bought last week has a bolt under is that connects to the bike and has a nut at the end holding it stable a top the wheel. Well, my wife was riding casually and the bike started making a funny noise and looked back and the bolt had fallen completely out, which made the child and the seat rotated at a 30 degree angle, but luckily didnt fall out.

Good value, easy install, fits bikes with disc brakes, May 23, 2012
By D. Braker (Bartlett, IL, US)

This bike seat doesn't bolt onto the frame like most do. This bike seat clamps onto the frame (the seat stays and the seat post) so it will fit most bikes, even disk breaks. However don't install on bkes with rear suspension. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money on more expensive bike seats the the Topeak.

Great Product- Great Price, May 21, 2012

Very nice carrier for the money! It's simple to assemble, quality made and fits very securely to the bike. It has most of the same features advertised on carriers 2-3x the cost of this one including adjustable foot rests, full safety bar, quick release harness, head rest and rack mount with removable seat without the need for tools. The quick removability feature is especially convenient for transporting your bike or if you just need to use the rack by itself.
And for the assembly difficulty? Seriously, if you can read and know how to use a screwdriver and a wrench, you will be able to attach this carrier to your bike in under 20 minutes without any issues. A level also comes in handy to prevent installing the carrier at a forward downward angle, which may cause your child's head to bob if they fall asleep as many noted. I installed the rack slightly reclined to avoid this.
For the same price range, this carrier is far superior in quality and in features than the Bell Cocoon, which I made the (big) mistake of buying at a local store before I found this carrier on Amazon.

Excellent bike seat!, May 10, 2012
By Elena G.

I've very happy with this seat, and my 17 month old loves it! Good quality, secure, comfortable and room to grow. ONly thing is she can take her feet out of the velcroed band but I put some clunkier boots on and that stopped her from doing it. **FYI - this bike seat cannot be mounted on rear or full suspension bikes (such as a Trek speed bike) the bike won't support it.

Capital HATE this product!, May 17, 2012
By Missie (Cisco, TX)

You wouldn't think something like this should be so difficult to put on a bike, but I had the hardest time with it and the instructions might as well had been written in greek! I hated this product so bad that I sent it back and then bought a InStep Take 2 Double BicycleTrailer and LOVE it! I was able to get the trailer put together in less than 15 minutes and my bike fixed up within 45 minutes plus it will hold two kids instead of one.
