Good for low security needs, October 4, 2010

This is a good lock option for low security needs. It is convenient in that you dont have to worry about losing your key but the cable is too thin for anything more than low security. Certainly better than most cheapo combo locks that people use in the suburbs but I wouldnt rely on this lock if I were to keep a bike locked up overnight.
Use this lock for : Low security risk areas (not overnight), or for short lock ups in moderate risk areas.

Quality lock, April 27, 2011

The combination mechanism is obviously well engineered. The tumblers turn with just the right amount of resistance, and always smoothly.

Someone tried to steal my bike but couldn't defeat this lock, September 12, 2011

I've used this lock for about 5 years, with no problems. Then recently someone tried to steal my bike. How do I know? Because they broke the lock, but it was still closed, so the bike was still there! After a lot of turning the still-functional dials, I was able to pry the broken lock off with a screwdriver. Then, I bought another one of the same lock because it's pretty convenient. (I did buy an additional U-bolt that I only use overnight.) Hey, this lock did its job.

The theft stopper, March 22, 2012

This thing is tough for a cable lock and I've had a number over the years. Someone tried to steal my bike with a pair of bolt cutters and they couldn't get through this lock. Know how I know it was bolt cutters? Because there are bolt cutter marks in the plastic coating all over the lock. I'm talking 15-20 of them. I still use the same lock as a warning to thieves that says don't even bother. That's right somebody went at this lock with a pair of bolt cutters for probably 5 minutes and couldn't get through.
Also the combo lock is of high quality. It's been rained on and sprayed with mud for 3 years. It's even gone through the desert at burning man a couple of times and the wheels still turn very smoothly.
You can easily set the combo number by turning a metal wheel inside the housing. Pull open the lock, turn the wheel, set desired numerical sequence, turn the metal wheel back and bam. new combo.
Also the mounting bracket attaches to your seat post for easy access. I didn't buy mine from Amazon and whether you get it here or somewhere else it's a great lock.

onguard comination lock cracked, March 17, 2012

Hi All,
I have an onguard combination lock which I purchased with my new bike about 6 months ago. The combination was cracked and my bike was stolen. I tried contacting the Australian distributor of onguard for support more than once and they won't respond to me.
I thought everyone should know that these onguard's combination locks can be cracked and the company will not support you if their products fail.
Good luck all.
Edit: also should mention the lock cost me $50 AUD, so I'm not sure if it's this exact lock given that Amazon sells stuff a lot cheaper than what you can get in Australia
