Money well spent, May 27, 2009
By A. Brooks (Charlotte NC, USA)

Purchased for 36" tall, 33 lb, 2-year-old boy. He loves it.
NOTE: If you have "sticky" pedals, WD-40 fixes them right up.
PROS:
Solid rubber tires
Blinkers (turn signals), music, and horn (batteries included)
Seat lifts up for storage
Clear instructions for assembly
Metal frame (sturdy)
Cute, stylish design
Nice price ($60)
Sized right for a 2-year-old
Lightweight
Medium-sized pedals with bumps for traction
Pedals turn when pushing, helping my son to learn the pedals "make it go"
Ability to pedal backward
Quiet ride
Extra-long seat means as child grows he can sit further away from pedals
CONS:
Plastic body (but that's what makes it lightweight)
Wish it had a push handle until son learns to pedal (but that would have increased the price)
Some assembly required (15-30 minutes)
No brakes
No seat back
50 lb weight limit

A MUST FOR 2 YEAR OLDS, January 11, 2009
By dtichio (N.J.)
|
|
This trike is a must for 2 year olds. It is durable yet light weight if I have to move it. The tires are real rubber, not cheap plastic, so the traction is great. My son tools around the house on this trike on my hard wood floors without a problem, and I dont have to worry that he is scratching the floors because of the real rubber tires. My son can actually reach the petals, not like some out there. The sound features are awesome!~Not like some annoying of the sounds and music that some bikes or big wheels have. Real directionals that work and no annoying horn to beep. I love this trike and have recommended this to everyone I know who has children. I think the price is great also!

Well designed trike, February 6, 2009
By Muir, Alexander (Seattle , WA)
|
|
We read the reviews on Amazon and ordered this, and we're happy. There are several good points:
1. It looks like a real moped. Our 21 month old loves seeing motor bikes and mopeds, and is enchanted with having his own.
2. The style is good. It has good design - the curves and styling has some quality to it. They have obviously thought about the aesthetics of this toy.
3. Its light. Our 21 month old can carry it around himself (for short distances).
4. Its easy to put together.
Overall, this is a case where the good reviews of this product have really come true for us, so far.

Great gift for a preschooler!, February 17, 2009
By Two Boys Mom (Finksburg, MD)

I bought this trike for my son's second birthday and it is a huge hit! My four year old son loves it too but he is a bit tall to ride. The styling is modern but the frame is sturdy and reliable. Lives up to the Radio Flyer reputation. We also have the two seater wagon and our boys LOVE it! Great toys!

Very cool toy for very cool kids, December 25, 2008

This vespa/trike is great! It has blinkers and music and a horn, and the seat lifts up to store rocks and sticks. It is made by Radio Flyer so its good construction and takes just a little while to put together. We've already personalized each one with bumper stickers and decals and personalized license plates. Now they just have to reach the pedals!

Not worth the effort, March 5, 2010
By lucy louise (kansas usa)

I purchased this for my 16 month old grandson and I knew he was a bit small for it but it was sooooo cute. He loves the sounds of the horn, blinkers and music. He really loves the storage compartment under the seat. When he gets a bit bigger he will enjoy riding more, if his PaPa can fix the steering. This bike is stable, cute and easy to assemble up to the last step. The way the handlebars are attached to the steering rod is horrible. After about 3 times there was no steering at all. There is only one small bolt to attach the handlebars and steering rod. Not to mention that the bolt is not only small but it is in an impossible place to tighten and trying to align the two parts was impossible as well, at least it was for me.If PaPa can fix the steering then it will be great for this summer outside. Also have your little one wear shoes as the foot pedals have very hard, sharp knobby bits sticking up that are hard on bare feet. Also the white cover with the Radio Flyer logo on the front is easy to pull off and this gives access to the nut and bolt that are supposed to connect the steering and the handlebars. My grandson pulled the cover off the second day and had his fingers inside working to get the nut off the bolt which is certainly a strangulation hazard.

This trike is SO cute!, January 8, 2009
By Gee (Ohio)

This trike was bought for my 1-year old grandson and he loves it, even though he can't quite reach the pedals. But his 3-year old sisters have had a lot of fun riding it. Construction is very good and it is just soooo cute, with music, horn, blinkers with lights. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Great toy six days late, January 12, 2009
By G. Ellis (Omaha)
|
|
The Radio Flyer trike was a big hit with my 2 1/2 year old grandson, but arrived six days after the promise date and missed Christmas delivery. I'll never again order something from Baby Age, Amazon's supplier. There was no "fast shipping" option; there was only inaccurate information and no apology for the poor service.

Correct review, September 20, 2010

The toy is enjoyed by my three year old grandson. I also am writing to correct the review previously given as it was inadvertently given a low rating when it should have been excellent for service.

Love this Trike, January 9, 2010
By Toddler Mama

Son is almost three and loves this trike! The seat storage is his favorite part. The noises from the radio, horn, and blinkers are not extremely loud or annoying as some of his other toys. Extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Great Trike!, November 9, 2009
By DMT (Richmond VA)

We purchased this Radio Flyer tricycle for our 1-year old grandson. Of course he needs help to ride it, but he loves it already! He is fascinated by the sounds and the storage compartment. It is sturdy and just as it is described. It is definitely something that he will grow into and use for several years. We are pleased!

Handle bars broke off after about 2 years., September 10, 2011
By krksquash
|
|
This was a great tricycle, while it lasted. Today, the metal inside the handle bar shaft failed and broke. This seems like an engineering flaw to me. I can see where the metal part basically was bending back and forth until it finally broke, like you can do with a paper clip. Quite a disappointment.

My Son loves this trike, May 5, 2011
By Archena Dave (Alpharetta, GA)

My son is almost two now. My dad gave this to him on his first birthday, so he was and is still too young to ride it as a trike and push the pedals.
He still loves this.
The trike was purchased by my Dad from Amazon.com. We had one small problem one of the pedals kept on falling off, and so I reached out to Amazon.com. As always, although it was almost 10 months since the original purchase, they could not do a refund/exchange but promptly gave the contact information for Radio Flyer.
Never dissappointed with Amazon.com customer service and I contacted Radio Flyer right away by email, they too were very prompt in getting back to me.
Just asked for the Model# and a shipping address. I had 2 new pedals in a week.

Nice little trike, January 12, 2011
By Nina

This is a cute trike but my 20 month old can't quite reach the pedals. He still likes to sit on it and push the buttons. We push him around the house on it. It seems like it will be a pretty smoothe ride, not bumpy like some toys with plastic wheels.

Sturdy trike!, December 31, 2010
By sofia

Everyone is loving this trike, it's very classy, we love the color. My almost 2 years old is already reaching the pedals(though he's kinda big for his age)... he likes the sounds and lights...It looks sooooo cool, and cute. I'd like it more if it had some adjustable mechanism, so that it could grow with the baby... I think it will last long enough anyways because the seat is long, so the baby can seat a little farther when he grows up.

awesome and cute!, December 21, 2010
By boyzmom (Irvine,ca usa)

I bought only one of these trike for my twins because I wasn't sure they'd like it. I wish I bought 2! They're constantly fighting over it!
They just turned 2 so they don't know how to pedal yet but they love pretending and pushing the buttons.
The trike passed the husband test: it is the first time that my husband approve of a toy purchase I make online!
Now I have to get a second one!

For kids 36" and taller, May 12, 2010
By Lisa and Naomi's mom (Sunnyvale, CA USA)

|
We've had this trike for months now and it's surprisingly fun even though our little 2 year old spud is still too short to reach the pedals during a turn. It also started squeaking after an older (8 yr old?) kid sat down on it but still seems to work fine.

Little Red Trike, May 11, 2010
By MissMimi (PA, USA)
|
|
My 2 yr old got this for his birthday & he absolutely loves it. The music, horn, & blinker buttons are great for extra fun. Low enough to the ground that he can climb on & off at will. Also the frame is shaped just right so he doesn't have to hurdle any middle bars to get on & off which equals less chance of falling. Frame is very sturdy although the plastic parts (light & seat) are a bit questionable. Just the right size for my 2 yr old who is very tall for his age & fits our neightbor's boy who is a few inches shorter in the legs as well. Overall great toy!

Radio Flyer does it again!!!, February 14, 2010
By mama of 3 (California)
|
|
My almost 2 year old received this for Christmas and all 3 of my kids LOVE it! It is so cute and will definitely last in our family for years to come! I had a hard time finding a tricycle that would accommodate a smaller child, as most are recommended for ages 3 and up. This one has a big seat, so my youngest can ride it now and my two older children can fit on it also. The sounds and blinkers, etc are so creative, they love cruising around using the turn signals. :) Overly thrilled with this purchase!!!

Front Wheel is too Small., March 3, 2011
By Mom of 3 Little Tots
|
|
My son received this trike a couple years ago when he turned 2. It's super cute, but he's way too big to ride it now that he's almost 4. I think the front wheel is too small. My son had to pedal so much and so fast to get it to go just a little ways and still couldn't keep up with his brother.

Radio Flyer Red Sound Trike, September 5, 2011
By BT

Purchased this for my grandson's 2nd birthday. Took apx. 25 mins. to assemble. Seems to be a good product. Very cute and easy for him to get on and off. He's just learning to use the pedals, but I'm sure he'll be riding around in no time. Ordering on-line with free shipping was a plus and delivery was very efficient. Thanks, Amazon!!

my son loves it, September 2, 2011
By carmelclothdiapermama

Gave this to my son for his third birthday and he seems to love it, especially the lights/sounds feature. Some of the plastic extra parts fall off easily, but also snap back in easily. Does take 2 people to put together due to the small screws/bolts and tight spaces.

Happy Grandkids, April 23, 2012
By Golfing Grandma (Alexandria, MN)
|
|
We purchased this Radio Flyer trike after buying an older model at a garage sale. Our Grandkids, ages 2 to 6, loved it and had to share so we looked to purchase a second one. This is a very durable trike that we allow to be ridden inside the house when the weather is bad. It is plastic material and doesn't seem to cause scratching on the walls or floor. We are happy and the kids are happier. Amazon had a great price and the supplier was great at delivering fast.
