5.0 out of 5 stars.  Form Meets Function, April 7, 2010
By Bike Geek, Student, Homemaker (Louisville, ky)
I bought a pair of these at my local bike shop for $20, so I was entirely aware of the size when I bought them. The price point did make me think about it for a moment, but between the lack of separate mounting hardware to break or lose (note: I *always* lose my headlight mounts -- always) and the fact that they could be easily transferred between my various bikes, I decided to give the SPOK lights a go. The lights turned out to be well worth the gamble.

First, as aforementioned, you cannot lose the mounting hardware on these -- you might lose the velcro wrapstrap, but if that happens all you need to do is pick up another wrap strap or run a zip tie through the strap housing. The lights mount securely to just about anything without the need for those weird little rubber shims that come with most head- and tail-light mounting brackets. They stay where you put them, as you positioned them. Their simplicity is, in a word, beautiful.

Moreover, these lights are brighter than you might expect. The design of the light housing prevents them from blinding you, the cyclist, while making your presence known to drivers within a wide radius. I have very good night vision, but am easily blinded by bright lights, so I really appreciate this.

Not only do I love my current SPOK lights, I'm planning on purchasing at least one more set -- I currently have the tail light mounted on my helmet, and would like to add one to my seatpost bag (because nothing succeeds like excess).

These are probably not designed as your sole light source for late-night rides on dark country roads. However, for commuting in town, they are about as perfect a choice as I have yet encountered. I love them.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  the best inexpensive bike light I've used so far, June 17, 2009
By Nick T. Mere
the SPOK lights are great- they're lightweight, the velcro straps make it easy to attach to any bike quickly or transfer it between bikes without additional hardware, and they're pretty bright, yet small enough to keep in your pocket in case you can't leave them on the bike. I don't know what the battery life is or if it's a hassle to change 'em, but so far I'm extremely happy with them.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Bike Lights, September 29, 2009
By Kalyn Mcginnis (Fort Collins, CO, USA)
So, I'm not sure if the seller made this clear or not, but I was not aware when I spent $20 on these things that they were mini. They're cute, and I can just keep them easily and unobtrusively in my backpack or purse for night-riding around campus, however definitely not worth $20.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  worth the money?, September 28, 2010
By superchick
It was an ok buy.. I was just thinking if it was really worth the money. I mean sure it's small and convenient, but performance wise it would be nice if it would illuminate more and help your viability. While biking in the night i didn't feel as safe with it as my old one. Another problem is with being seen, sure it helps prevent other bikers from being blinded by the light, but with this design, you don't get as noticed as much because of it. With driving even when you have lights in your face you don't have a difficult time driving still. You just look away slightly. This is probably where i made my mistake in thinking for others and not myself. I wouldn't really recommend it too much, your probably better off buying a bigger light that cost less and is brighter. They are conveniently small and easy to carry, but at what cost?..

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy to be seen, November 27, 2008
By Wheelman (Cary, NC United States)
Since I rarely ride in pitch dark, being seen is good enough.

I put these on my unicycle for riding in the early morning and early evening. Larger lights would come loose whenever the unicycle hit the ground, but these are small enough to stay put.

Very easy to mount. No plastic bracket to crack or break. Would buy again.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  tail light turns on randomly, December 17, 2009
By D. B Weber
The tail light decided to turn itself on randomly while it sat in the garage. Pressing the button sometimes turns it off, sometimes does nothing. Burned through two batteries and then dumped it in the trash.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Lights, October 13, 2010
By Simo
Excellent little lights. Perfect for road bikes or simply being seen on any bike. I would not use them for night riding, but as a warning light for the daytime or as the sun is going down, they're perfect. I bought a 2nd pair upon recieving them.

Nice Product

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Tiny light that does it right!, December 24, 2008
By Zen travelor (Los Angeles, CA USA)
This small light is easy to place on my different biking helmets. It even serves as a small flashlight when returning home after night rides.
An excellent choice for visibility and to accompany a regular bicyle lighting system.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Small, Unobtrusive, Effective Lights with great mounting options, August 15, 2010
By Amay D
These tiny lights provide a decent alert to oncoming traffic on pitch black lake bike paths in Chicago. Between the two settings, steady and blinking, I prefer the blinking because the actual light isn't all that strong. The velcro strap mounting system vs. a plastic unit is awesome and provides many placement options. My road bike is manufactured by Giant, so "standardized" products don't quite work on its components. Even with these lights, I need to use the plastic cable ties to secure properly.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very Tiny, September 13, 2011

These lights are really small, but put out some strong flashing or non-flashing lights. We are happy with the purchase and ease of attachment as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great overall, February 16, 2009
By Stuart Johnston (Dallas, TX)
I found the velcro mounting a little tricky in my application but probably more versatile than some. Other than that, they are great little lights. I mounted them to my helmet to supplement my other lights and increase my visibility in traffic.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice to have, August 17, 2011
By Rutland
My son got a set of these lights for his birthday a couple of years ago and I decied to get them as well. I ride a road bike and usually stay on trails but also sometimes have to travel on roads as well. These are great to keep on my bike just in case I am out later than expected and get caught in the dark. The headlight isn't going to help you see much but it will alert other bikers, walkers and cars that you are coming. The tail light works fine for warning cars or other bikers that you are there. Since they are so small, I don't even notice that they are on my bike. I got caught in a thunderstorm last night and it got real dark as I was finishing my ride. I was able to use these lights to finish the last mile of riding. It was in the dark and raining on a 4 lane road that had a 55 mph speed limit. I was glad to have them. They are also very transportable. They come with a velcro strap that just unhooks and can be placed on another bike in about 10 seconds.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice, light, but don't expect much, July 28, 2011
By lubger
This is what it is - a basic blinker to make you (hopefully) more noticeable on the road when it's dark. I definitely like the cute design: streamlined, extremely light, and able to get attached to pretty much any part of your bike (although I'm still figuring out how to attach them to the helmet). The luminosity is not that great - but one should set their expectations right.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Lights!!!!, December 8, 2010

Easy to set-up. You can rotate them in order to get a good fit on your bike. Very bright and distinct. They don't look cheaply made either, so they should last a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bike Safety Lights, May 18, 2010
By D. Lee (Hawaii)
These are great replacements for my bulky AA and AAA lights that have died out or fallen off. Because they are so small, I don't worry about them being stolen, I just leave them attached all the time so they're handy when I need them at night. Because they are led, the batteries last a long time. These lights are well designed and well made.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Smaller than I thought they would be, October 10, 2010
By JayBee
I've got pretty big hands...so when I say this, keep that in mind....but the lights are only slightly larger than my thumb and have only 1 LED per light. That said, they seem to light up the area pretty well...the package says visibility up to one mile....I think that is to say that people can see you for up to one mile. I haven't gotten the bike I ordered for these so I will update when I get them on the bike and give it a try..

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic Lights, January 25, 2012
By J. Sinclair
I am extremely happy with this purchase.

The lights are TINY...but are very bright. Also, they have velcro straps instead of a holder, allowing you to place them almost anywhere. Velcro + small size means its super easy to detach and put into your pocket if you're scared of theft at your destination.

Theyre a little bit pricey for their size, but theyre very convenient, very bright, an very easy to use. Bought a second set for my sister.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great lights to help you be spotted, January 9, 2012
By C. Cain (Minneapolis, MN United States)
If you are looking for lights to light up your path, these are not for you. If you are looking for lights to help you be spotted and not run over, then these are good. They are really small but they are really bright. I plan on trying to find a way to strap them to my arms or legs for running in addition to biking.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Small, bright, and varied! :), January 3, 2012
By LMJ (Iowa)
Super bright, super small, and super easy to use. Just click to switch between a steady beam of light and a flashing light. The beam itself is bright and radiant which is great for night time riding.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love these lights - Excelent design, August 29, 2011
By A. Sedillo (Hawaii)
I could not have designed a better light myself.
They stay on through the worst crash you can imagine -
because they are secured by Velcro straps they don't vibrate off or make rattling noises while trail riding or jumping - and they flex a little to avoid breaking like rigid mounted lights would with any impact.
The batteries are super small but have a surprising life span - love that LED technology :)
The on/off push switch is so easy my 6 yr old daughter has no problems <unlike the wheel-spoke-lights that take a little more strength>.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  fits well in my ezip scooter, July 2, 2011
By Manny (USA)
I bought this item for my ezip scooter which I added a wire basket on top of the back wheel. No place to attach the back light except on the wire basket and I had to use a plastic tie to secure it. Fits well and small but with enough light to let motorist know where you are especially if one uses the blinking option.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  It's cool, September 22, 2010
By Poch
So this product was really cool when I first received it. It comes with the two lights straps and also a little instruction paper that we men don't need cuz we can figure it out on our own, you can do it guys. Then second of all the only thing I didn't like us that I have been using the product for about 2 to 3 months an my front light battery us runnin out ao now I have to go and buy it ao just be aware of that. Ohh another thing is that it's not incredibly the tinniest bright light in the world it's small so it lights a small amount of light.

These lights are too tiny for any driver to see. I don't feel safe with them and need to buy bigger ones. Also, one of them died in two weeks. Don't recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice little lights., May 3, 2012
By Karol (Mentone, CA.)
These little guys are great because they can be placed just about anywhere. I placed them on my helmet, and use them on flash mode. They are near weightless, have a low profile, have great battery life, durable, and inexpensive. I have had other lights on my helmet , but they either broke or i just didn't like how big and gaudy they were. These easily strap on or off and no worries on breaking or losing anything. These lights are for you to be seen, not for you to see. They'll get attention just as they are designed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Haven't been run over yet!, April 5, 2012
By mochong
These lights are compact and lightweight, yet they still provide plenty of light to warn vehicles of your presence.

Since I can't always ride during the day, I picked up these lights due to their inexpensive nature. I was pleasantly surprised at the light output these lights have. The front light even casts a small amount of light on the area directly in front of the bike. Not near as bright as a true "headlight", but slightly helpful when there is no ambient lighting from street lights.

The lights seem to do an excellent job of warning vehicles in front and behind of my presence. I like that blinking and solid are options on both lights. Also, the opaque plastic on the top of the white light keeps it from shining in my eyes, unlike some other light I have tried.

For those wondering, you can rotate the rubber on the bottom to accommodate mounting on different bars and the included velcro strap is long enough to go around the thickest bars on my bike with a bit of room to spare.
