| | As Skype has become more widely use by many people, much more than one or two friends, I've moved from using it on my laptop and then on my iphone, into using on my desk. The feeling of having a desk phone is very pleasant and having calls ring without having to have your computer on is ideal. In addition the sound quality of the speaker phone and the feel and quality of the phone itself is fantastic. I was hesitant at first and I had seen it for almost two years and I was not convinced on the beginning, but I order two phones and hand them to relatives of mine, among them my parents and they really love it.

| | The unit seems solid enough although it could use some more weight or high-friction feet to stop it from sliding across the desk. The handset itself is poorly shaped and uncomfortable. The real problem though is the firmware - Users in the USA are required to enter "+1" before every call and there is no way to automate that - let alone automate the area code for local calls - this should be a pretty easy fix so I don't know why the manufacturer has not addressed it.

| | In short: poor sound quality makes this unuseable.
I bought this on Amazon. I could barely make out what people said, and they could hardly understand me. Worst phone conversations in years.
I bought a competitor's model for a little more and was satisfied.
I have yet to find a standalone Skype phone as good as my PC mic. My recommendation: do not get this. Shop around. Better products are available.

| | The design is nice, the ease of use also, looks just like skype on your pc. However, it reboots by itself and also looses connection from time to time. For home use I guess it's fine. If you need reliability, not sure it's the best option.

| | After trying both a USB phone (which would cut in and out) as well as the expensive Panasonic wifi phone, we found that due to Mexico bandwith issues (they do not like allowing VOIP services), so far this phone works pretty good.
Would like to see a + key or allow for just entering the area code and phone number without doing to the 00 key press - once you have this phone you will understand!
Works great though, saves us thousands of dollars in Mexico long distance charges....
