It works!, July 4, 2009
By Jeffrey L. Beard

I am always a skeptic on stuff like this. However, I am a believer of Sportlegs. The lactic acid buildup (thus burn) during a training or racing event is eliminated. So then the recovery is much better! I like the fact that there is no "loading"...just take an hour before the effort.
I had my sis-n-law take it before running a half marathon. I didn't tell her much other than "take this dose". I joined her as a "bandit" runner in the first mile...after a few miles she said, "what did you give me? My legs have never felt this good during a run!" Her recovery was great over the next two days...she ordered a bottle and vowed to "never be without it!"
I have also had similar results...it is not a "magic pill", but it will add to your exercise enjoyment and aid you in training and racing harder!

way too pricey, March 19, 2010
By Joseph Neer (Denver)

This product seems to be one of the great scams of the sports world. There is no doubt calcium and magnesium are good for avoiding cramping while exercising. But why pay 25$ plus for this stuff when you can go into any grocery or vitamin store and buy the same combination of vitamin D, calcium and magnesium for seven or eight bucks? Plus you'll no doubt get far more. Call something "Sports" anything, charge triple for it and you could become rich. If you are bothered by cramping on long rides or running, the prof is out there that calcium and magnesium will help. However, you need don't this high priced product to come to that conclusion.

Surprisingly good results, October 20, 2010
By Michael J. Perkins (Frisco, Tx USA)

I ordered this product in hopes it would minimize soreness during some high-intensity backcountry hiking. To test my tolerance I used it during some stairmaster/bike training sessions. Wow, I have been very impressed at how much less soreness I feel! It also seemed to help me recover more quickly.
Consider this - I hiked steep mountains w/ a 30 lb backpack for 6 hrs one day, then 9.5 hrs the next, and the 3rd day I still hopped out of bed w/ no soreness. Wow!
I now take a few of these any time I want to push my body to new limits. It reduces the tired/burning feeling in my legs, seems to speed recovery, and certainly reduces post-workout soreness.

Best price -- good supplement, July 5, 2010

If you've never used this stuff you should try it. I am an avid cyclist and it seems that I am able to go longer and harder when using it. This was the best price I was able to find once shipping was factored in.

Placebo, at best, June 27, 2009

I tried it a few times on some challenging mountain bike rides. I couldn't tell a difference either on the bike or in the time between hard rides. Someone needs to do some controlled, double blind studies of this stuff.

These pills work!!, July 25, 2010

I just finished a 70 mile road bike ride at a fast pace. 3,000 vertical feet in total. So far, I have 'zero' soreness in my legs.. It's pretty amazing what it can do for you both on the ride (longer sustained endurance) as well as afterwards with recovery. I've also tried these on a long ski day in Tahoe. I always ski pretty hard, but in the last 7 years or so, my legs just can't keep up.. With Sportslegs, I lasted the whole day with out being tired. Once again, no soreness. I'm 43, so not a young buck here..

These things are awesome!, September 3, 2009

I just started mountain biking maybe 3 months ago. My buddy and I take a route that is roughly 8 miles, but has a total of 1350 feet in climbing elevation. I can definitely tell the difference between when I take the SportLegs and when I don't. With SL, burn only happens when I'm actively pushing with my legs. The instant I'm on the upstroke, no more burn. Even the burn is maybe 20% of what it normally is.
This morning I took our entire route and only had to pause one time for a rest. I probably didn't have to either.

Works great for me, May 12, 2011
By J. OSullivan (Mount Prospect, IL United States)

Just got my 1st bottle of SportLegs and have been using it for a little over a month. I use it for longer runs (8+ miles) and for speed work. I recently used it before running a half marathon. I didn't notice a difference in performance during the race, but I noticed a marked improvement in my recovery afterward--I was less sore/stiff, and was back to normal faster than without the supplement.
I haven't had any negative side effects like the GI trouble another commenter mentioned. So far I'm very pleased with SportLegs and will continue to use it.

Helps, but not total solution, April 8, 2010
By J. Hager

I thought the Sportlegs helped me during my last Ultra. They worked well for the first 22 miles then after that I became tired anyway. I did not cramp as much as before but I was hoping they would assist with cramping and remove it all together. I take other items to assist with cramping and drink plenty of fluids. I will try Sportlegs again to see how they work on my next marathon and then follow on Ultra.

Good Product, March 10, 2009

This is a good product. It is not the panacea for being out of shape, but it does seem to reduce some soreness the day after a hard ride or day on the slopes. Your legs may still feel dead, but at least they are not painfully sore.

Great help for older legs, January 6, 2009
By M. Wright (TEXAS)

I'm an active 60-year-old skier. Unfortunately, I don't get in shape for ski season as well as I used to, and the last couple of years I've had trouble with thigh burn to the point it shortened my hours on the slopes. I used this product for the first time last week and it really works. I skied until my muscles were fatigued, not burning. I also took it as recommended after skiing and it certainly lessened the soreness the following day.

The Jury Is In, July 8, 2011
By Film Fan

I decided to go back to hi rep aerobic toning tapes and bought Sports Legs because I can't stand that lactic acid feel during the workout. Well I still got that burning sensation during my workouts and thought that this stuff was a waste of money. I had a similar product gathering dust in my kitchen and decided to give it another try. Well they both worked in similar ways as in I still felt the burning sensation during my work out.
The difference is that four days after the switch I was walking like an old woman and my knees hurt. Yes I work out hard. Needless to say I didn't have this problem with Sports Legs. I re-started taking it and not only did I get through my workout it made my knees feel better. The product reduces soreness for me and aids big time in recovery.
I didn't realize this until I switched to something that clearly is inferior. Highly recommended. It works!

I've definitely felt a difference when riding. I was able to hang better with the faster riders and my legs were not sore like they usually would be. I wouldn't say that there is an overwhelming difference, but there is a noticeable difference.

Takes twenty years off your legs!, March 5, 2012
By NewOwner

This product is amazing! When the old legs just don't want to cooperate any more, whether it be running, walking, or in my case skiing, a dose of Sportlegs takes the pain out of whatever it is you do. On a recent ski trip to Switzerland, even the combination of long ski days and high thin air didn't result in any thigh burn after using Sportlegs. And if it works this well for us older folk, a young pup should be able to run all day. A great find that I've been using for years.

Thank you Amazon!, October 28, 2011
By Gina Jones (RUSTON, LA United States)

I've been using Sportlegs for about a month to help with leg fatigue I experience when I do a long run one day and cycle 25 miles the next day. I'm 53 and, to be honest, don't recover from workouts like I did when I was 30...or 40. It really does help! I discovered the difference when I forgot to take them one day before a ride. My first bottle was purchased from the local bike shop but the owner didn't restock so I'm really thankful Amazon has them and can get them to me quickly...before my next ride!

Younger legs NOW, September 12, 2011
By Karen M. Wenger (Elizabethtown, PA)

In capsule form, this is an easy to swallow product. Ingested about one hour before riding bike, the SportLegs Supplement helps me maintain a vigorous effort for several hours of fast-paced, highly competitive group riding on the rolling hills of Southeast Pennsylvania. I'm very satisfied. There are no side effects, either, beyond the suffering of my riding companions as I jump from the saddle for another tough climb, smiling.

Great if you understand the expectations, January 16, 2012
By biochemken

As a triathlete, I go between swimming, cycling, running, and strength training in various degrees throughout the season. I use Sport Legs for every cycling and strength training workout. The product does exactly what it claims to, but understand what that is.
Sport Legs will:
- help to buffer the buildup of lactic acid so you can go do more reps on the weights or climb stronger on the bike
- help flush the lactic acid buildup after a strong effort so that you can get back to your normal cadence and power output faster after climbing (or a hard interval) or help you recover more quickly between sets in the gym.
Sport Legs will not:
- completely eliminate lactic acid burn, but you will have a higher threshold and recover quickly after the effort
- turn you into Craig Alexander or Lance Armstrong. During sprint triathlons, I picked up roughly 0.5 mph on my average due to the ability to hold the effort longer. During long training rides (50 - 75 miles) I picked up a similar amount, but where I found the most benefit is on hilly rides where I picked up close to 1 mph thanks to the ability to recover faster after climbing.
Bottom line is to understand what the product is designed to do, and it does it well. Especially when you are training 5 - 7 days a week, flushing the lactic acid out of your muscles quickly will help you recover faster so your next workout is a quality one.
Note: I haven't experimented much with sports legs on just a run. Certainly there is a difference on a brick run after the bike ride thanks to what it does on the bike. If you use it or try for your runs, let us know if you noticed any difference.

Good stuff, December 3, 2011
By Shannon (Florida)

I tried a one dose pack during my first half marathon last week and it works! It doesn't prevent 100% of the soreness, but does help a lot. So, my level of soreness was less than I normally would have which made recovery easier.
I followed the directions and took two pills about an hour before race start and then took two more after my race (in actuality, I should have taken a pill with me to take after the two hour mark it seems). No issues with the supplement at all, I felt okay.
It's worth it for me if it aids in making my leg soreness less, so I'll be buying a bottle for my upcoming races and long runs. I already have friends asking about it since I told them I was more sore after my 15k! This will be a new addition to my race supplements from now on.

I used sport legs for one of my marathons. It really works, but the problem was it upset my stomach. Make sure you use it on test runs to make sure you don't get an upset stomach come race day. I've used it a couple of times since. It does work.

This is the first bottle I use of this product, I am about half way through it already.
I used to suffer cramps at the end of every ride.
Since I am using this supplement (I use it after my rides), I am recovering faster and better from strong rides and not suffering cramps on my next ride.
I plant to continue using this supplement.

Good use for bowel spring cleaning., March 22, 2011
By AM-Review
|
|
Like clockwork every time I take these pills, 2 or 3 hours afterward I am in the bathroom with the runs, diarrhea and intestinal cramping (in no particular order mind you). Usually it takes me about 2-3 consecutive trips to the toilet to fully relieve myself. Not sure what the deal is, perhaps I am mildly lactate intolerant or something. But it is certainly not fun.
As for the usefulness of SportsLegs, they do in fact help me perform better while using my exercise pedal machine. I can hold 1-2 MPH faster than I normally could, as it feels like I have more energy. But for the mild gain it is not worth the guaranteed bowel disruption afterwords.

i am a repeat customer of sportslegs supplement. i use it when i ski. i am not always in the best of physical shape at the beginning of each winter season and therefore sportslegs supplement helps me to not only push my body some but eliminates the muscle burning or cramping sensation. i consume two capsules one hour before i get onto the slopes and another two at the half day. sometimes, i also take two at bedtime which helps eliminate the morning after soreness. i am 62 years old and continue to enjoy myself on the slopes with the help of sportslegs supplement.

WHAT A WASTE!, February 16, 2011

This is such a joke! It did absolutely nothing. My legs were still tired and aching during and after my workout. The shipper I got it from was great. Got my order within two working days. I will not order again, NOT because of the shipper, but the product. The people that say it's great, probability work for Sportlegs.

Sports Legs for athletes, February 14, 2012

Sport legs purchased on Amazon work great but have a lower potency than the ones bought directly from sports legs. Just means you have to take an extra pill. Still cheaper though - so it works out in the end. I use sportlegs for skiing and competitve swimming. Good stuff!
