4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good gloves at a great price, December 12, 2008
By David Tombs (Florida, USA)
For spending $15 instead of the seemingly standard $30 for bicycle gloves, I am very happy with these. They are very comfortable, protect well against a cold wind, and the sweat-wiping cloth on the index finger and thumb is a nice touch.

My only complaint I have is about the velcro. Sometimes the lycra backing will get caught in the velcro and get ripped up a bit. I don't think it's going to fall apart or anything, but it seems to be a bit of bad design that will reduce the lifetime of the gloves.

All in all, though, good gloves and a great price. Planet bike rocks!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Value, September 4, 2007
By FXP (New York City)
Gloves are pretty standard with a ventilation strip down the pinkie side which is not clear in the photo.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Planet Bike Aries Cycling Gloves, June 18, 2009
By stkeys
The other reviews about this glove are pretty accurate but, if you notice no one mentions anything about the glove padding. That's because you would have to look real hard to find it. If you only care about looks than this is a nice glove else, do yourself a favor and spend a few dollars more and get a better glove.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Well-built and comfortable, May 15, 2009
By Frank J. Perricone (People's Republic of Vermont)
They fit very nicely and are quite comfortable. They're nicely ventilated but give a good grip. I haven't yet fallen with them on, but I'm sure they'd protect the palms very well. On chilly mornings, they give me a fair amount of protection against the cold, not quite enough though, though you can't blame them -- there's no fingers!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not too shabby at all, April 13, 2009
By jonsabo.com
I like these gloves, they did me just fine on a 300-mile ride.

Only issue was they hold their stink if you fall in mud....hehe... yes learned that one from experience.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Falling apart after 2 weeks, September 17, 2011
By J.W. (Midwest)
I was excited to finally have a set of gloves when I bought these from my local shop. After my first week of normal use, one of the plastic/gel tubes in the palm of one of the gloves came out on it's own. Four days later, the same gel tube came out of the other gloves. I believe they were to keep the shape/form of the glove. Today, I noticed that one of the velcro straps is only 20% attached, hanging on by a thread, literally. I guess for $18, I got hand covers. I'll be going with a $40 pair soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good, but some flaws..., August 29, 2009
By M. Faulhaber
I bought these a couple weeks ago and they arrived at my door hastily! They are great looking gloves and are pretty comfortable!
The flaws that I had with these is that the velcro on the strap will get caught on the material that covers the back of your hand. There is not that much padding over the palm, but it does help a little bit. On the thumb going up to the index finger, they added a towel like material to wipe sweat away from your face, and it really helps A LOT! Overall I would say they are comfortable, affordable, and look great! You should not hesitate to buy them! Its a great deal!

3.0 out of 5 stars.  OK for paved trail/rail-trail riding, June 13, 2011
By J. Han
Using these for trail riding is fine. The padding is a bit thin but they are comfortable enough. Wish they did have a bit more padding. They are rather inexpensive so if you don't mind spending a bit more, I would probably go for something a little thicker.

I've used them for mountain biking (it's too hot for full fingered gloves right now) and fell a couple of times pretty good and they held up fine and protected my palms. Can't say the same about my elbow. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Planet Bike Aries Gloves Are Great, May 10, 2011
By 02 Giant (Colorado/Iowa)
Very nice gloves, well worth the money. I have worn them 10-12 times so far, no complaints. These are not padded so if you are looking for a padded glove these are not what you want. I wasn't looking for padded gloves as my grips take care of that. I wear a large glove, that is what I bought and the fit is right on. Unless they unexpectedly fall apart, I will buy again.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Decent gloves, January 17, 2011
By bikecomedy (Key West, FL USA)
Planet Bike makes and sells good products. These gloves are nothing fancy, but so far seem quite decent and I am happy with them. I think this pair of Aires Cycling Gloves were a good buy for the price I paid for them on Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable, easy to put on and take off, October 16, 2010
By Marcus (New York)
My Title sums up a lot. Make sure you go to your local bike store (LBS) to try out their gloves before buying it online. I tried a pair of size large Specialized glove in my LBS before buying these gloves on Amazon. Size large fits perfectly with a tiny bit room to breathe.

It is comfortable but I do get tingling sensation on my thumb when I do more than 35 miles ride. But I blame myself for lack this so I am not taking off stars because of that.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Wishing for more, August 22, 2010
By Lorenzo Sr (Norwalk, CT United States)
I cycle for about 1-2 hours a day. After about 20-30 minutes when using these gloves I feel some numbness in both hands. At this point I begin wishing I had purchased gloves with more padding. These gloves have minimal padding. I now know that padding makes all the difference.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Decent MTB gloves, great price, August 6, 2010
By Transplant Recipient (USA)
Planet Bike makes some good products, as is the case with these gloves. You could pay upward of $50 for gloves, but I'm not sure if they'd be significantly better. These seem to have enough padding to keep hands comfortable when firmly gripping the handlebars. I've been using them in summer and they aren't uncomfortably hot, not sure how they would be for cold weather. I think I will just use regular gloves if necessary.

The only shortfall is about the Velcro as mentioned in another review. Maybe if the "hook" side were better aligned with the "loop" side the Velcro would snag fewer times. But it's a minor issue, they just need a little more attention for cleaning when necessary.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  gloves used for wheelchair, June 16, 2011
By star (Los Angeles, CA)
These gloves I use to turn the wheels on my wheelchair. They have been very long lasting, unlike other gloves I have used for this purpose. They are easy to clean, and well made, and I would happily use them for many years.

For the price, these are great. They're comfortable, durable for my one-hour-per-day rides, and fit well.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice for small hands, April 3, 2010
By CtrlAltDlt (New York, NY)
Got these in the mail today and went riding right away. These have a VERY snug fit for my small hands (skinny fingers for a guy). I ordered the small size and its a tight fit putting on a removing these gloves. For regular sized hands or larger, follow everyone elses advice and go a size larger than you think you need.

I commute to work on a daily basis so these provide enough cushioning and extra grip for those trips. The materials seem nicely stitched together and I prefer this kind of full coverage glove as opposed to the gloves that expose more of the top of your hands near the velcro.
I figure with use these gloves may stretch out a little, which would be fine. Right now, these gloves fit me really nicely and fit the bill.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  they are comfortable, but, September 12, 2009
By nuto (los angeles, ca)
They are very comfortable, but the problem I have with them is that the palm side of the gloves doesn't have grip, I felt they were a bit slippery, but then again I bought them to used along with my wheelchair.
So look wise they were very good, feel wise good also, and fit was good but not as good a grip as I had hope.
