Product Description:
Kickboard USA is the official distributor for Micro-Moblity, Switzerland, makers of the Mini Kick scooter for kids ages 2-5, the Maxi Kick scooter for kids ages 5-10, and a full line of quality scooters for teens and adults. The Mini Kick is the quality choice in children's scooters. In 2011 the Mini was awarded the Parent's Choice Approved Seal and in 2009, it won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold and Platinum Award Seals for Best Toy. The Mini also was named 'Best Pre-School Scooter' by Toy Report, 'Best Outdoor Toy' by Learning Express Stores and was featured on the NBC Today Show as part of its 'Best Toys for Summer' series. What makes the Mini unique is its quality construction and 'lean-and-steer' design, which allows children to use their body weight to control the steering, giving them the feeling of 'surfing' the sidewalk, as they curve from right to left, almost like a skateboard. The lean-and-steer adds an element of stability and fun, great for learning balance and coordination. The Mini's 3 wheels make it easy for even the youngest kids to ride. The youngest kids will normally start riding in a straight line but learn quite quickly, almost intuitively, to gently lean, in order to steer. The older kids (ages 4 and 5) become very proficient, curving right and left as they 'surf' the sidewalk. The rear brake adds to the safety and fun. The Mini can be ridden inside while learning (or waiting for Spring) as the Italian made wheels are non marking. The wheels and shock absorbent deck work in unison to provide an incredibly smooth, quiet ride, a joy for parents and children alike. The mini's light weight (only 3.3 lbs), makes it easy for young kids to control and convenient for parents to pick up and carry when need be. Weight limit 44lbs. Children love to ride the mini kick daily, year after year and the modular construction means that all parts are replaceable, so it can last, virtually forever.
Has your child ever dreamt of surfing the pavement just like the bigger kids? Now it's easier than ever before with the Mini-Micro kick scooter, which allows children from 3 to 5 years old to enjoy all the fun and freedom of scooting. The ergonomics and handling of the Mini-Micro were developed with youngsters in mind, with three wheels to keep the rider from falling over, a back brake for safety, low ground clearance, and a simple Powerstic steering mechanism. The company also avoided using any sharp edges in the Mini-Micro to prevent unfortunate bumps and bruises. Most importantly, the trendy toy--which weighs only 3.7 pounds--allows toddlers to surf the asphalt while simultaneously improving their motor skills, balance, and coordination.

The Mini-Micro is built to last, with a polyamide base construction reinforced with 40-percent glass fiber and a polypropylene body. And when it's time to pack up and head home, you can easily remove the steering column and store the Mini-Micro in a backpack. The Mini-Micro is the ultimate kick scooter for youngsters of all skill levels.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  So glad I did the research. This scooter ROCKS!!!, November 11, 2009
By R.I.B. (Los Angeles)
My twins just turned 3, and after seeing some kids at the park riding around on Spiderman and Radio Flyer 3-wheel scooters, the constant refrain from both of them was, "let's get a scooter!!" I researched a TON and was leaning toward the Razor Jr., but after reading the reviews that it was just too slow for some kids, and that all the child could do was push push push, I decided not to take a chance on it. Then I saw this scooter and it sounded great. I called the company, Kickboard USA to clarify the weight issue, and was told that it goes up to about 60 lbs. Okay, great. I also asked if they thought my son, who is a little behind in motor skills, would be able to manage this scooter, and after much discussion (great customer service!), I decided to buy two of these and give them a whirl. I bought blue for my son, and I knew my daughter would want pink. Also ordered two Bell helmets. Amazon shipped both right away.

Needless to say, the morning of their birthday when they opened the back door and saw two new scooters with helmets dangling from the handlebars, they were GIDDY! They both jumped on and it was slow-going and a bit awkward at first. These scooters can go fast - the kids seemed to intuitively know this, though, and took things cautiously. They didn't understand the steering concept - yet. But after an hour or so, they felt more confident and were pushing along. They'd raise their foot up for a second and then put it back on the ground and push some more. They were having a great time.

This scooter is lower to the ground than any I've seen, which makes it easy for the kids to ride. The two wheels in front make for great stability and maneuvering. Fast forward to about 2 weeks into using these scooters and both kids enjoy them a lot, but especially my son. He's a scooter fanatic! He has gotten so good at riding it and the steering just came naturally when he realized that as he leaned, it would gently turn in the direction of the lean. The brake is a great feature, but so far my kids don't really get the concept of it. They just put their foot down or sort of "hop off." I imagine as they get older and more proficient, they'll get the groove of the brake. My son now zips around with all the bigger kids at the park. The Razor Jr. and Spiderman scooter kids are envious and slower. I imagine it won't be long until they're bored with their scooters and want to graduate onto something better. I don't have that worry with these scooters. They look cool, which the kids love; they aren't "baby looking" at all. I was also so happy not to have to buy something with a television character on it!

These scooters are built to last from what I can tell. They come with some cool stickers, too. I cannot tell you HOW MANY parents have seen my kids on their scooters and sidled up to us to ask about them. Yes, they are more expensive, but for the longevity my kids will get out of them, and the peace of mind I have that they're probably the safest scooters out there for preschoolers, it was WELL worth the cost. Neither of my kids has had anything other than a minor tumble on them so far, but you know, I expect that. Kids are gonna fall. They always wear their helmets - it's a non-negotiable rule - and so far they actually think their helmets are cool (got two of the Bell Bellino Toddler helmets - love them!).

Caution: I would advise parents, however, not to let your kids ride these scooters on sidewalks or other areas where they might get away from you and risk danger. Also stay away from paved paths with inclines and dips. As I said above, these scooters can get going, even with the kids just pushing off with the foot and not fully "riding" it, and I have to hustle to keep up with my kids. We only let them ride these scooters in enclosed parks with paved paths or the cement area of our back yard.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a scooter your preschooler will LOVE, will last a good long time, and something sturdy and safe, this is the scooter. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Per manufacturers website, the weight limit is 70 lbs; Not 44 lbs! :-), November 5, 2008
By HapiBnBusiMom (Frisco, TX United States)
I was considering purchasing this for my 5 year girl but when I saw the weight restriction of 44 lbs, I was hesitant thinking she would outgrow it within the next year.

However, after checking out the manufacturers website, I found this when has now made me decide to purchase this safer looking scooter than others for my little girl:

"* The mini scooter is designed with a weight recommendation of 70lbs. Please note that the bottom of the scooter shows a weight limit of 20kg, which is 44 lbs. The reason for the discrepancy is that European standards dictate that weights are displayed only in increments of 20, 50 and 100kg."

5.0 out of 5 stars.  The BEST toddler scooter out there by far, January 30, 2008
By M. Larson (San Mateo, CA)
This scooter is simply the best one out there - because the 2 wheels are in the front, they don't get in the way of the kids trying kicking off with their feet. And because to turn, they have to lean vs steer, I feel it is safer as it tends to just go straight. As the kids improve, they figure out how to turn, but that's what's so good, they do it at their own pace. Even though this scooter says it's for age 3, we bought it for my son's 2nd birthday because he tried someone else's and shocked us by being able to ride it well. He had tried those other 3-wheeled scooters with the 2 wheels in the back and couldn't really ride them - the design of this one is just so superior. He absolutely LOVES LOVES LOVES it and just about every day, people ask how old he is and they are shocked, they say they can't believe how well a 2-year-old can ride a scooter. But it's not him, it's this scooter! Don't waste your money on the cheap "cartoony" scooters, just get one of these, your kids will be zipping around in minutes!

2.0 out of 5 stars.  doesn't go straight easily, January 3, 2010
By Sunny (San Diego)
My 3 yr old is smart and picks up things easily, but I admit she's not super athletic yet. She cannot ride this scooter because it leans too easily and won't go straight unless her foot and the handlebar is balanced perfectly in the center. She can go about 5 feet before running into the grass and tipping over. She gets frustrated with I try to help. She can ride her friends standard 3 wheel (with the 2 wheels in the back) and standard steering. We got this one because in reading other reviews we thought it would be even easier and safer. I'm disappointed because it cost more, was a special gift (from santa), and seems much harder and frustrating for our daughter. She is also big for her age and will probably out grow it soon. I'm about to buy a cheaper 'standard' 3 wheel scooter. I don't normally write reviews, but our experience was so different from others, I thought I should. On the bright side, it is well made.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic Scooter BUT you will need replacement parts, September 23, 2008
By NYC Mom (New York, NY)
My six year old is still riding this scooter (he's just under the weight limit), and I wish they made one for older kids. We live in NYC, and he uses it to get back and forth to school every day, and pretty much everywhere else. He got a Huffy model when he was 3, and when that fell apart we bought this one (since the new Huffy model is nowhere near as good). My one major complaint is that the back wheel wears down pretty quickly, and we are on our third replacement brake. The parts are easy to order online. The site is called minimicrousa (or something like that). Interestingly, this site claims that the weight limit is actually 70 pounds.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Scooter - Beware the Weight Limit!, April 3, 2008
By rcbjnb (Winchester, MA United States)
This is a terrific little scooter, but beware the weight limit. The amazon description does not tell you that this scooter is only good for a child up to 20 kg. My 4-yr old is tall and 45 pounds and thus is already too big. I will have to return the scooter for one that is suitable for a larger child.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Dangerous!!!, March 29, 2009
By Louise (Sacramento, CA United States)
Do not buy this scooter! I bought this scooter for my three year old and we have had to put it away. The weight is in the front and the wheels stick out and are easily caught. When the wheel hits anything (lawn, rock, etc) it stops and the child flies right over the top as the handle bars do not turn like regular scooters. The scooter tips right forward sending your child face down on the ground. One time my daughter's wheel hit the lawn so she fortunately faceplanted on the grass, the second time it was on cement when her wheel hit a rock. She fortunately had her helmet on and only received a dent in her forehead from her helmet, that shows how quickly it pitched her over onto the ground. We had to take the scooter away after that and went and bought her a barbie razor type scooter that is able to turn and adjust. This is a very dangerous design. The handlebars don't even adjust anyway so you would be wasting your money even if it wasn't so dangerous. I have contacted the company but have not received any reply.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Mini kick is a big hit!, October 3, 2010
By Grammy & Grandpop
Our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter LOVES this pink mini scooter! What makes it special are the cool orange and pink colors AND especially the SAFETY BRAKE on the back of the scooter that makes it so easy to stop when in motion. It is sturdier than many others. We are so pleased that we bought a second one to give as a gift to another lucky child!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best Toy Ever!, September 25, 2010
By Erin (Lake Forest, ca United States)
Don't let the price put you off cause the investment is totally worth it!

I got this scooter for my daughter when she was just under 3 years old and she had no problem riding it. Now she's four years old and still prefers this scooter over the Razor brand scooter. It has easy handling, stability, speed, and is super durable. I dare to say it's perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Couldn't be happier, September 10, 2010
By Betty Crocker (Montclair, New Jersey United States)
I got this for my daughter for her fourth birthday and could not be happier with my choice. After reading endless scooter reviews I decided that this style would be best for my toddler in terms of safety and confidence building. I went against the advice of a six year-old neighbor, who said she found it really hard to ride. I guess bigger kids are confident enough to ride further back on the board, but little kids tend to lean forward, and mine is no exception. I'm even happy to let her ride this around the house as the wheels don't scratch the floor or leave marks. My 22 month-old has even started riding it, which is great since she will inherit it when her sister's ready to upgrade. Amazon delivered super fast with minimal packaging, which I also appreciated.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Big hit for 3 year old girl., August 17, 2010
By Trish
This was a hit with my 3 year old daughter. She got it for her 3rd birthday. It was simple to put together, has a nice and practical design, is perfectly sized for her, and she's able to carry it around if necessary. She gets some good speed on it, and immediately picked up on how to use the brake. She's still working on steering but enjoys riding on it very much. It makes a great 1st scooter.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Absolutely the best beginner scooter, July 7, 2009
By Noname
We've had this scooter for a few years now. I bought it because I wanted a three wheeled scooter that taught my son to balance but yet was more stable than a two-wheeled scooter.

Most three-wheeled scooters have the third wheel on the back. That always looked a bit awkward to me. Like when they go to kick, the back leg must avoid that wheel. I guess it's not really that bad as I watch other kids, but I wanted my kids to kick like they would on a two-wheeler.

This scooter has the third wheel on the front and it steers like a skateboard. That's a terrific way to teach balance. My son (4 years old at the time) was a little tentative at first, but he was able to use this scooter with a little effort and concentration. It helped him a great deal with his confidence and he was eventually able to transfer to a two-wheeler.

My daughter was 2 years old when she started riding this scooter. She picked it up quickly after watching her older brother. By the time she was 3 years old, she could zip around on it quickly.

There is a brake on the rear wheel, just like the two-wheelers. Other three-wheeled scooters don't have that feature. It allowed my kids to practice using the brake for when they transferred to the two-wheeled scooters.

The Mini Micro is solidly built. We've had ours for about 3 years and it's still going strong. There are no loose parts, nothing falling off or bent. The brakes haven't worn down yet. It still looks just like the day we got it.

The only downsides to this scooter is that it doesn't fold up and the handlebars don't adjust. It's geared to a very small age group (3 to 5) and doesn't hold a lot of weight.

However, the Mini Micro is a terrific beginner scooter, far superior to other three wheeled scooters. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. It's well worth the extra cost.

UPDATE: This scooter also comes in blue, aqua and orange. Pink would have been my daughter's choice, but we own blue.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great scooter for kids to grow on, May 12, 2009
By M. Vooss (New York, NY)
We bought this for our daughter on her 3rd birthday and she's loved it for the past year. She has learned to balance well, and from humble beginnings coordinating her pushing foot she now zips around faster than we can follow. The front axle flexibility for tilt steering works really well, and I believe it's easier and more intuitive than than having to coordinate the hand, body and foot motion for kids. The product is well made and can be easily dismantled for portability. It has a higher weight limit than some other products, the two front wheels provide great stability, and the brake works well. Last year she was the only one in the playground with one of these, this year there are so many we've had to decorate hers (even with some of the included stickers) to be able to keep the kids from grabbing the wrong one. Overall, a solid choice. Of course, make sure your kids wear a helmet!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best scooter on the market, November 16, 2010
By jackattack
I am a Brit and when I went back to England over the summer EVERY kid in my daughter's age group (3-5) had this scooter. I didn't see another type of scooter at the park when I was over there. I decided that the mummy population of England must have done research and decided that this was the one I needed. It did take a while for me to be able to find it in the US (unfortunately it is more expensive here!) but eventually I found it and ordered it. My 3 year old is in love with it so much that she literally has at least one part of her body touching it at all times. She eats with it right next to her chair, she wants to sleep with it too but I've vetoed scooting upstairs.

It's super easy to ride and when she first got on it, she would manually pick up the scooter and turn it round corners but it only took her a couple of days to figure out how to lean the stick in order to turn. Now she is scooting round the playground on this faster than her friends on bikes. I heartily recommend this toy and am noticing more and more of these in the US so clearly the word is spreading.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Fun, easy to ride scooter.. but BE CAREFUL!, May 5, 2011
By KLAS 94 (Colorado Springs, CO)
My 4 year old daughter got this scooter for Christmas. She learned to ride it quickly and loves it. One warning is it is front heavy due to the double wheels on the front. I wish that the handle bar was adjustable to the child's height as well. That is the one negative I found. The handle bars need to be a little higher for my daughter. She was riding it and leaning slightly forward. She was not going all that fast but she leaned too much to the front and it tipped and she fell forward. She needed 8 stitches in her chin. It is a fun product but beware that it can fall forward. She loves the scooter so much she got right back on it. I'm just a little more nervous now!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Perfect., December 31, 2010
By Allen C. Riddle
I did a lot of research before buying this scooter for my (just turned) two year old. She loves it! The size is perfect. Goes together in seconds. It's low to the ground and very stable. She can't always pedal and turn at the same time, but I'm sure after a bit, she'll figure it out. She just stops and moves the front if she doesn't make the turn in time. She has never fallen down with this one.

It turns by the child simply leaning the direction they want to go. Really neat, if you ask me. No jack knifing, etc. I would definitely spend the extra money on this.

My almost 5 year old can easily ride it, too. I'm so happy with this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best money I've spent in a long time!, November 26, 2010
By Jonathan Sprenke (Tacoma, WA United States)
Bought this for my 4 year old daughter in an attempt to get her out and moving more... and hopefully keep up with her older brother. I saw a three year old ripping around on one at a park and actually wrote the name down. I figured it was a gamble but worth a try... well it works great! She loves it, took to it right away and not only does she keep up but it did wonders to boost her self-confidence! People stop us all the time and ask about it. I tell them it was pricey but worth every penny! We walk her older brother to school and back every day, no more whining!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best Buy!, August 11, 2010
By Canuto B. Borromeo (NewYork, NY United States)
I used this to transition my daughter out of her stroller and it was such a big hit that she never looked back! Also, I walk my daughter to school 1/4 mile each way every day. She rode the scooter to school, on weekends, walking the dog, going on shopping trips, etc. This is definitely a best buy. Evenutally, I had to graduate my girl to the Maxi Kick because she outgrew it. I highly recommend this product and it is worth every cent!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  My daughter LOVES it, December 28, 2007
By ER Doc (Bellingham, WA)
My 4 year old has gone NUTS over her scooter since Christmas morning. At night she cries because "I don't want to ever sleep again, I just want to ride my scooter"!!

It's wonderful to have a non-electronic, no batteries needed, exercise-inducing toy that my child just adores. I'm sure that at some point she'll splatter in the driveway and skin her knees a little, but that's part of being a kid, right?

I highly recommend it as a great way to get your kids off the couch and away from the bloody television!!

2.0 out of 5 stars.  great scooter but beware of weight limit, February 6, 2011
By K Bartelle (Costa Mesa, CA)
This is a great scooter for kids. But I question the engineering behind the device. The limit says 60 pounds and even that is questionable. The wheels bow out even at 30 pounds. My mother scantily over 120 pounds tried to stand on it and snapped the front wheel off. Parents beware! I liked it so much I fixed the wheel with some carbon fiber cloth and epoxy. But then I noticed that the factory over tightened the wheels and bearings. The allen wrench they provided stripped the heads off the bolts and they still wouldn't move. So great concept, questionable engineering and quality control. Considering the price premium for the scooter you would figure these problems would have been considered. I will say my 2 year old enjoys it immensely and really its not about my happiness but hers. I guess I'll have to buy another one once the wheel is completely worn out.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  The absolute best scooter!, June 10, 2010

We bought this for my daughter's second birthday and she LOVES it. She has 2 tricycles, but she never wants to ride them, just her scooter. She mastered riding it very quickly, except for the brake, which she is still working on. She rides with a 4 and a 5 year old and she is much faster than either of them! Her friends 3-wheel scooters (other brands, both of which have 2 wheels in the back) look so rickety and dangerous compared to her Mini Kick which glides very smoothly and is easy to steer. We lost her original Mini-Kick scooter during a hotel stay and it was dearly missed so we had to purchase a second one, and we would do it again if needed.

This scooter is fantastic. My four year old loves it and flies around the park and neighborhood on it. It is stable, intuitive and smooth. I like the fact that you don't have to lean it against anything when you aren't using it. This is by far her favorite outdoor toy and now she doesn't have much interest in her bike (unfortunately).

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Terrific Scooter, June 29, 2010
By Terps fan (Maryland)
My kids (age 2 and 4) love this scooter. We've had it over 6 months now and it's still in perfect condition. They can go very fast on it & it's very stable. Going to buy another one (in orange) for my younger child's upcoming birthday so they'll no longer have to share. It's pricey but I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Amazing scooter worth the price, February 13, 2010
By Sophia Schwartz (CA)
It took only one day for our 3 1/2 year old to master the scooter -- the concept of scooting, the unique steering, and braking. The scooter is well-engineered -- Several other scooters are larger and may appear more sturdy, but the bearings and light weight of this one make it a winner!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best scooter for toddler, January 30, 2010
By j.d. (california)
This is by far the best scooter for toddlers. My 2 year old got one for Christmas and has mastered racing around and "steering" this thing all over the place. She uses it every day for at least an hour, at minimum! It has been the best gift yet because she can play with all the older kids around her and not feel left out. This scooter can go fast, is low to ground, and easy to maneuver. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a toddler scooter. My daughter has access to many types of scooters at her class and they can't even compare to the ease of use and maneuverability. She loses interest in the others almost as soon as she gets on them. Worth the money and then some....

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thre best scooter!!, January 27, 2010
By Karen S. (East Bay , CA)
I ordered this scooter for my 4 year old. We already had 2 micro minis by Huffy that my twins love. This scooter appears to be much improved upon the Huffy models,on which the brakes broke off and the springs in the steering broke. My four year old can easily zip around on this scooter! it is sturdy and easy to balance and turn on and since the 2 wheels are in the front little ones aren't banging their feet on the bulky 2 back wheels on other toddler or "training" type scooters! LOVE IT!!!!!!!! BUY IT!!!!!!! Totally worth the extra money.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Truly the best toddler scooter!!!!, January 11, 2010
By twinzmom (California)
I got two of these scooters as Christmas presents for my twins. They have been asking for a scooter since the summer and since they just turned three, I thought it was a good age to get them something like that. I went to the usual stores first to look at three-wheeled-scooters and I was disappointed at the poor quality and/or the poor maneuverability. I was sure that there must exist a better option. I searched the web and VOILA!- I found these. First off, the colors are awesome. Second, they look just like 'big boys&girls' scooters, which counts for a lot when you are three. Third, after reading scooter blogs, I was convinced that these are well worth the money in terms of quality of workmanship and maneuverability. I am so pleased with my choice - my kids look like Pros on these wonderful little machines. We took them to the park the day after Christmas, and everyone (kid & adult) was staring at my twins who were effortlessly scooting around. We did not have a problem with the scooters going straight, but they do turn with such ease, that I can see how someone may have a bit of trouble initially. However, just as with anything else, once the kids become more skilled at doing several things at once (keeping track of where they are in there surroundings, keeping their balance and pushing off the ground to accelerate), they will master this scooter. My twins got the concept of how to operate the scooters literally within minutes, and after an hour there was no stopping them (or getting them off the scooters!!!). Learning how to use the break took a couple of days, but they got it down. The scooters were very easy to put together, and all the parts look to be well made. I'm sure we'll enjoy these for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love this scooter!, September 24, 2009
By Kate (Geneva, IL)
My 2 1/2 year old twins have had so much fun with these scooters this summer. Until I found this scooter, they were always trying to play with their 7 year old sister's Razor scooter. They didn't have they coordination to hold that up and scoot, but with this scooter they don't need that coordination. They have even learned how to use they foot brake on the back wheel. As with learning any new thing there were bumps and falls to start, but it didn't take long for them to figure it out. They are good enough that I even feel comfortable letting them scooter to the park that is a few blocks from our home. I make them carry their scooter when we cross streets, but they do great scooting on the uneven sidewalks.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Weight Limit on this scooter is 70 lbs NOT 44 lbs, September 26, 2008
By B. A. Sjoblom - Chyatte (Atlanta)
When you go to the manufacture's website it states: "The mini scooter is designed with a weight recommendation of 70lbs. Please note that the bottom of the scooter shows a weight limit of 20kg, which is 44 lbs. The reason for the discrepancy is that European standards dictate that weights are displayed only in increments of 20, 50 and 100kg." Just thought some of you might need to know.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  LOVE, LOVE this scooter!!!, April 18, 2008
By Jenise Cockhill
We bought this scotter for our older son from Huffy. He loved it and was great at it by age 2. I was so dissappointed when our daughter was 18 mos and we found that Huffy discontinued this model. Friends had bought Huffys new model and were REALLY DISAPPOINTED. We purchased this one for our daughter and she is riding it like a champ. She will be two in a month. It is easy to steer and low to the ground so it is right up the alley of a toddler. Also, it is awesome because the two wheels are up front rather than the back. When the two wheels are at the back the little guys hit their ankles on the bolts of the wheels. so, this is the perfect scooter all around.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great buy, January 13, 2008
By always looking for good kid's.. (Chicago, IL)
This seems to be a sturdy little scooter (it's been ridden three times since Christmas- would be more used if the weather was more cooperative). It's my daughter's first scooter, and she's doing fine balance-wise. My only concern would be that the handle doesn't seem to be adjustable, so she may outgrow it before summer is over (she's almost 5, and growing taller fast). In the meantime, it's just what she wanted and the smooth ride encourages her to keep moving. We think it's great!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  People are always amazed at my 2 young kids riding their scooters around the neighborhood like pros!, March 16, 2012
By B. Warren (Virginia)
We lived in England last year, and every single kid aged 3-5 had this scooter. Literally, the playgrounds would be flooded with them, and kids would have to use stickers to differentiate which one was theirs. My daughter had a $30 Disney princess scooter, and she never really liked it too much. When I broke down and bought this scooter, our lives changed for the positive. My daughter could suddenly keep up with me on long walks. She would ride her scooter beside me into town, to school, and all over! I got one for my son when he was 18 months old. By age 2, he was a pro. Now, we live back in the states, and my kids ride their scooters to my daughter's school every day. All the other parents think they are incredibly athletic, but really the scooter is just so much better than the ones they sell at Target that all the other kids struggle to scoot.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great fun for toddlers, June 25, 2011
By Wendelin (Albany, NY)
My son got this for his 3rd birthday (his favorite color is pink). Not a day has gone by in almost 3 months now that he hasn't played with it. He usually makes rounds of the kitchen and the hallways for an hour after he comes back from daycare, burning off excess energy before dinnertime. He's not the best when it comes to motor skills (not officially lagging behind but has two left feet when he dances, etc.) but I was surprised to see how easily he took to the scooter, going really fast from the beginning and getting the hang of making turns within a month.

The scooter seems sturdy enough but the labels are already peeling/rubbing off which isn't a big deal.

UPDATE AS OF NOV 2011: Well, the scooter is still a huge hit. My son has stopped playing with his other birthday gifts half a year later, but this scooter is more popular with him than it ever was! He is so crazy about the scooter, he scoots more often than he walks. Seriously, he scoots from room to room around the house - even to the bathroom! - and lugs the scooter upstairs to scoot down the short upstairs hallway when it's time for bed. Scooter seems to be holding up very well to all the abuse he is putting it through. This is easily the best birthday gift he has ever got.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This scooter is truly amazing, May 24, 2011
By Lferd
I saw kids in NYC bombing around town on this scooter and I just needed to know where to purchase it. After they told me I marched right over to a store and purchased it for my daughters second birthday. Really I bought it with my four year old in mind thinking they-could share it or my four year old could eventually show my two-year old how to ride it. I was so amazed at how easily my two year old picked it up. The design in this scooter is truly AMAZING. My neighbors constantly comment on it and the progress my two year old has shown on it. Now really I would love to brag and think my girl is far advanced, however I really think it's al in the make up of the scooter and not her. It really is the gold standard in scooters every mom of a two three or four year old must own one.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Mini Kick Scooter, January 8, 2011
By jennyd35
Our packages arrived quickly using standard shipping. We charged up the electric screw drivers but, surprise, surprise, the scooters arrived assembled. All we had to do was insert the handles. Our twin grandchildren, age 34 months, had no difficulty using their scooters immediately. The boy even put both feet on and coasted without instruction. They were wearing helmets, but the scooters were so well balanced I had no concern for their safety. We were able to order them in their favorite colors - pink and blue. The only thing was, I hadn't expected them to be so small. The twins are small and that was fine for them. However, I wondered if the scooter would last until age five for bigger children.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Worth the dollars. Very good for a 3 yr old!, January 15, 2010
By Minnie (Texas)
We purchased this for our 38 month old daughter to ride. For months prior to making this purchase, I watched tots with other scooters struggle to keep the front wheels straight or struggle with the little wheels of their scooters getting stuck. No problem with this one. My 40 pound daughter loves this toy. It's her favorite Christmas present. She pushed it around the house for the first few days to get a handle of it and now is able to control and ride it around the neighborhood and parks. No wonder it received the awards! I strongly recommend using a helmet at all times because this scooter is also quite fast!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Perfect choice, November 29, 2009
By Grandma (Texas)
I bought this scooter for my granddaughter for her 4th birthday. It's terrific. We've had none of the problems I've seen in reviews for other scooters--this one rolls smoothly, rolls a l-o-n-g way with a good push, is stable, and just top-notch in every way. She loves it so much her parents say she never walks anywhere in the house anymore--she scoots. Yes, it costs more than the others, but based on various reviews, I think it was the right choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Most played with toy in our house!, October 16, 2009
By Go2theCross (Indiana)
I bought this scooter for my daughters 6 year old birthday after doing some research online. She wanted a scooter, but after receiving many bruises and tumbles from riding a friends normal 2 wheeled scooter I was really hesitant to get one. After comming across this scooter I decided to give it a try. I went with the smaller one because the website explains the weight limit is 65 pounds and my daughter is only 50 pounds right now. I also felt it would be easier for her to get the hang of instead of the larger model.

Since we bought this 6 months ago, my daughter has played with it nearly every day. She has had no major mishaps. The tipping forward that one review taked about can happen, but you simply show the child wear to place her/his foot for better stability. It is MUCH safer than the normal 2 wheel scooters out there. And a very sturdy model. The only negative thing is the spoon brake. The plastic piece can break if an older child steps on it too hard...which happened when a older friend got on it without my knowledge! I believe I can get a replacement part for it.

I am in the process of ordering another one of these scooters for my second daughter for her birthday. The girls are thrilled they will no longer have to share the one!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best & Safest Scooter on the Market, September 2, 2009
By 2remem (Los Angeles, Ca)
#1 scooter you can buy! I bought my son 12 yrs ago (he's now 13) the identical scooter from Huffy(same dimensions, screw placement etc.). He rode it until he just was too heavy for it. That one is still with us and now my daughter has been riding it for 2 years. We decided that since she can't even go to the bathroom without the scooter it was time for a new one, the plastic base was gone and only the metal narrow part was left. I refused to get a regular scooter and glad I didn't.

This style of scooter is the safest scooter for any child to ride. No worries about the front wheel turning unexpected and you child flying thru the air or falling as easily. I can actually exhale when she's riding. No more holding my breath or being afraid. Balance is definately enhanced here too. All turning is done with body/weight placement. It's super stable. Absolutely great. Both my kids started on this scooter before 2 yrs old and at 5 yrs old, my daughter goes everywhere with it & yes she rides it all thru the house too. My only worry is that I hope the plastic base can be replaced if needed as this one is sure to be around for a long, long time. Worth every penny!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent For Toddler, April 21, 2012
By 2littleducks
We purchased this item for our youngest daughter for her 2nd birthday after reading reviews on every scooter model we could find. We liked the idea of leaning to steer the scooter versus turning the handle bars. It is a very light-weight and durable design so she can pick it up and turn it around with ease. The wheels/bearings are really good quality and the learning curve is simple. The stability of the three-wheel version is much more stable than the standard two-wheel Razor models. It took our two year old a total of 15 minutes to learn how to ride this and within two days she was outrunning kids 6/7 years old on razors. Our driveway has an incline to it and she mastered zooming down it in no time. She actually learned to ride it so well that watching her was scary at times yet after nearly a year she has still never had an accident.

Even though our oldest had a Razor this model became so popular with the kids that we bought the bigger model for them. As parents we now feel the need to buy one for us just so we can keep up with the kids when taking walks. We highly recommend this item as a first scooter and would buy it again if we had to do it over. It has been worth every penny.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  My 4 year old daughter loves this scooter, October 18, 2010
By A really cool mom in Cincinnati (Mason, OH United States)
My daughter had a preschool friend who brought a scooter to school for "bike day." She loved his and begged me to get one. The ones I saw at the local store did not seem sturdy nor were they PINK. Her 13 year old brother "trained" her of the proper riding technique and she picked it up in a few days. If it is too cold to ride outside, she asks if she can ride in our unfinished basement. This was a good purchase, glad I spent the money. I do wish the base was made of metal and not plastic. Her dad was was just about to try to ride it - and I was able to stop him just in time.

My 2 and 4 year old daughters really love their mini kicks. My 4 year old is especially good at using it. She can already turn corners and use the brake. She can really surf the sidewalk and she doesn't tip over unless not paying attention to what she is doing. My 2 year old can scoot along just fine, but still hasn't figured out how to coast with both feet on the foot pad. Great product. Fast shipping. We this brand of product for each member of the family for Christmas and we are loving them!

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Don't waste your money on this, January 6, 2012
By Diana H
This scooter is a bust for a three year old. My grandson can only ride in circles with it. Using the standard scooter move of pushing one foot along the ground means his weight is not centered. Because this thing "steers" by the child leaning, it constantly circles toward the foot that's on the ground. Extremely frustrating. Today I saw a mom with her little girl and a mini kick, going just as straight as could be. The mom told me that is ALL her daughter can do because she is so tiny (also age 3) that she is not heavy enough to make any difference when she leans. Seems this scooter works for a very narrow range of children. Don't waste your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love this scooter!!!, January 5, 2012
By Jason
This scooter has changed our lives! Our 3 yr old daughter is a bit of a lazy walker and we live in NYC, bad combo. We have tried push bikes of several designs and we have never found anything that she can sustain. By the third day on this scooter she is going faster than we can keep us with, and in total control. She has even figured out a few "tricks" as she calls them. It is such a joy to see her giddy riding this thing and we get everywhere 3x faster. Definitely advise a helmet particularly if you are riding on uneven sidewalks. She has taken a few diggers but has laughed them off as she is speeding away. One of our best purchases by far !

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best scooter for 2 to 5 year old, January 2, 2012
By Rene S. Hoepelman Jr. (Cary, NC)
Bought this for my daughter when she was just turning 3. She loves it and rides it everyday. Her bike not so much.
She will be turning 5 in a few weeks and she's been wanting a big girl scooter (2 Wheel) so we got her a pink razor. The mini scooter, even with three wheels rides just as smooth and fast as the 2 wheel razors. Also has the same brake system as the razor, so crossing over will be less of a challenge.

With the mini kick scooter, Kids have to learn to lean to turn but once they figure it out they will be fine. We've absolutly no mechnical issues at all. Its extremely light, the board is made off a slightly flexible plastic, Just keep the big kids off, and yours will outlast your expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best 3 wheeled scooter, December 28, 2011
By Twin MOM (Midwest)
Our toddler always wanted to ride on her older siblings' scooters. Santa brought this for her and she'll be riding this a lot this summer, I'm sure. It's stable and easy to turn (just learn how to lean to the side to turn the wheels, not turning the handlebar). High quality plastic base that won't crack and chip like the cheaper versions. Our daughter is only 2 and seriously, she's getting the hang of this thing. The grin on her face is priceless. Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  After 2 years of use..., December 6, 2011
By campr
We bought this scooter more than two years ago (when our daughter was 2)and I can't say enough about the innovative design (dual wheels in the front), and the quality is superb. It allowed her to quickly keep pace with her two older siblings. We are also avid summer campers and always take this with us, because of it's sturdy design she has ridden without incident even when the ground isn't perfectly even. If you're contemplating a "starter" scooter, look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best scooter!, July 24, 2011
By K. Gilbert (New Jersey)
We ordered this scooter for our 2 1/2 year old daughter at the beginning of the summer and she LOVES it! We started out with a cute princess scooter that was horrible, and just made her frustrated. When this scooter arrived however, she hopped right on and she has been thrilled ever since. It is just the right size, light, very stable, and easy to scoot. The handle bars don't move, you just use your weight to steer - brilliant! I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Scooter, July 17, 2011

Perfect gift for a 4 year old kid who seems to have everything. I'm told that she wakes up in the morning and rides the scooter through the house... to the bathroom, and to the kitchen. Must be good, huh?! Thx.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great scooter for toddlers, June 1, 2011
By Cosmopolitana (Santa Cruz,CA USA)
I bought it because a friends son has it and my daughter who is 2.5yrs old loves it. It is sturdy and it responds pretty much to movement like a skateboard would, so the handlebar is pretty much set. The way the wheels are set up offer great balance for the rider and my daughter scoots around happily on it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  My daughter loved this scooter, however... it broke!, May 4, 2011
By MIMom2010
My daughter was so excited when she received this scooter for Christmas. She quickly mastered the scooter as it handles easily and the more she's used it the more proficient kicks she takes. My only concern was the "give" when she stood on it. I too had read the reviews and weight restrictions, but really 40 lbs? We learnd just how accurate it was this past weekend when her BIG brother -he weighs 65lbs- took it for a scoot and broke it! I have contemplated buying another yet am seriously weighing the other options.

FYI My daughter is 4 1/2 and weighs 36lbs

I bought two of these scooters for my 3 year olds twins, one pink & one blue. Both kids love their scooters and my 3 year old daughter just took off w/out any help the first day we got them. I have to say, they're great, safe and cute-worth the money.

Best toddler scooter that money can buy. Although it would be nice if you did not need so much money to buy it.
I give it 4 stars for value/pricing. But I give it 5 stars for fun, safety and durability

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Terrific product!, May 11, 2012
By Leslie Z.
We purchased this scooter for our 3 year old granddaughter's birthday. She loved it so much that she tried it out after opening all her presents. I was a little concerned about her falling off but the three wheels kept the scooter stable plus it was very easy for her to ride. A week later I went to visit and by then she wanted to go around the block on her scooter.......I couldn't believe how well she was doing, it was as if she had been riding forever. I also bought her a helmet, knee and elbow pads when she rode just in case she fell off........she looks so cute with all her gear on! I have several videos of her riding! I will probably buy this for my other three grandchildren once they're old enough too.

I gave this scooter to my granddaughter on her 2nd birthday and she absolutely loves it! She is perhaps young for it, but has watched her older brother use his, so took to it right away. She always grabs her helmet and then away she goes ... a perfect gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  amazing scooter, March 20, 2012
By momof2girlsNJ
My 3 1/2 year old daughter was typically nervous on ride ons and these types of things in general UNTIL she got this scooter. I actually bought it from a local store so I can't say much about the vendor selling it here but the scooter itself is amazing. She's now 4 1/2 and still fits fine on it. She glides on this scooter like she's been riding it her whole life. Within a day she figured on her own how to lean to turn .. how to break.. and was just super comfortable on it from day 1. I am so glad I did the research on this one. TONS of people have gotten this exact one despite the pricey tag on it after their kids also jumped right on hers. No regrets whatsoever.
