3.0 out of 5 stars.  basic glove, runs small, August 30, 2008
By David M. Ocame
After I received the glove I couldn't help wondering if they were made for yuonger adults, say ~ 15-16 y/o? I ordered XL and I don't consider that I have huge hands for a guy. Yet, they feel very snug. The web backing gives them some stretch, so I hope that wearing will help shape them. I don't think they will last long though. But, for $10.00, they aren't worth bothering to send back and if I get a season out of them, they'll have beat gloves I bought for 5x as much!

I have yet to find a glove that my hands feel good after 10 or 15 miles of riding.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Inexpensive but not particularly well made, June 2, 2008
By pr (Ohio, USA)
The good: They are cool on hot days. They are inexpensive. The bad: On the first trip the stitching began coming undone. The bottom line: I'll re-sew them myself but can't recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable and cool, April 29, 2008
By C. Meyer (Gainesville, Florida)
These gloves fit my hands great and provide an extra bit of cushioning when griping handlebars. The woven-cotton-upper provides more than enough ventilation for me in the Florida heat. There are even patches of terrycloth on the thumbs to help wipe away sweat. I highly recommend these gloves for summer riding.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  No surprises in this basic bike glove, July 31, 2008
By William Croom
These gloves ran a little small, but were comfortable and cool with the netting back. The padding on the palm is adequate. A good choice for the recreational biker.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice gloves, April 23, 2008
By Ataber (New York, NY United States)
I bought these because they were cheap. They're somewhat adjustable around the bottom, thanks to velcro strips, and saved my hands from the pavement when some idiot crashed into me on his bike, making me glad I was well-protected (and maliciously glad that he wasn't).

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Could be better, July 19, 2008
By RgR
Although these gloves were not the color I wanted, they were inexpensive and looked quite breathable for hot Houston summer riding. Unfortunately, they do not have enough padding in the palm where I need it the most. I returned them and will spend the extra money to get the color I want, and the padding I need. I guess cheaper is not always better, but that remains to be seen.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice riding gloves, March 21, 2010
By Randonneur (Florida)
Planet Bike Taurus Cycling Gloves

Crochet backed gloves are some of my favorite riding accessories. Not only do they keep your hands cooler than regular gloves but you get a really strange tan in the summer that is sure to be a conversation starter where ever you go.
When I first received these gloves I was immediately impressed with the look and feel. They have Kevlar sewed into the heels of the gloves to give some added protection in the event of a fall or is it there for protection against a road raging driver with a gun? I hope I don't have to find out either way.
Like most crochet backed gloves I noticed that the sewn interface between the leather and nylon sections as well as the sewn interface between the nylon and cotton crochet areas at the ends of the materials are the weakest parts of the glove and I had some reinforcing sewn into those areas. That's not an issue specific to this brand of glove, I have that done on most of the gloves I wear since that is the area prone to fail first.
The Velcro strap surface area is large and provides a very secure feeling that the glove is not going to come undone when brushed against something.

Overall I am very happy with these gloves and I will be purchasing more in the future.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy on, but difficult to remove, February 18, 2011
By Geebee (SC)
The Planet Bike Gloves fit nicely and provide some cushion. However, they have not straps to assist in removing from your hands.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  great glove for the price if you don't have large hands, June 25, 2011
By devster (Wichita, Kansas United States)
I am ordering my second pair of these. I got almost 2 full seasons out of the first pair. Almost any adult should order the extra large size. My hands are by no stretch of the imagination large but these are a very snug fit in extra large. They are a really great glove for the price. They are well ventilated and I have been asked more than once where I got them by people looking to buy a pair.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great gloves, plenty of air and padding, June 13, 2011
By Michael J. Slater
The gloves have plenty of air and padding. I got the small size, and I have very small hands and these gloves are snug on me so watch for that.

The material feels very low quality though so I dont think they will last long before they start ripping up.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Choice, April 6, 2011
By Mark (Texas)
Got my gloves yesterday and rode with them for the first time today and I am very impressed with them considering how little I paid. The fit (size Large) was perfect, just a bit of snugness but not restricting and with the cloth mesh back had plenty of 'give'. Best part for me is that the backing gives my hands lots of air flow, some kind of stretchy, cloth mesh thing, soft and comfy though. I was surprised how much padding they seemed to have for the palms, made for a very comfortable grip. I thought they were kind of stylish too but not exactly a fashion mogul so...

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Okay as a backup, March 5, 2011
By Matt J.
You get what you pay for here. This glove is constructed using cheap materials light on the pading. Definitely not for serious riding. Good at about twelve bucks as a backup pair or for casual riding.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great gloves at a great price, October 6, 2010
By Kay M. Frederick
I bought a pair of these recently. I like the stretch of crocheted gloves, but have gone through two pair that were just not comfortable for other reasons. These were inexpensive enough that I decided to give them a try. Love them! Great comfort. I'm back to buy three pair (the third so I could get free shipping). Since I ride so often in the summer this will give them a chance to sit for a day or so between use.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Satisfied Customer, June 20, 2010
By G. McVey
I like the web-knitting on the back of the hands. It allows perspiration to evaporate and keeps my hands cool. This is the second pair of gloves I've purchased. The first pair lasted 3 years (over 20,000 miles).

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not that good, July 30, 2011
By RizzleDizzle (Here, There, and Everywhere)
I've had a few pair of bicycle gloves in my day, and comparably, these are a little disappointing. They seem to have been designed on a model with slanty / sideways hands. The fit just isn't particularly good, at least for a human hand. Next, we have the issue of padding, these gloves really don't have any, so the shock of the bars is rather communicative to your wrists and hands, not a great feature of a bike glove. I generally have been very pleased with my other Planet Bike Gear (Seat, Lights, other ish) but these aren't among their best offerings.

Check out Pearl Izumi gloves, they are boooya.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Feel great, July 25, 2011
By Mikey-T (AZ)
These gloves are simple and feel great. I am only a commuter cyclist, so these are the right price for the right fit, even if they only last a year or so. I can tell the webbing is stiched only fairly and might expect this area to be the first to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love em, June 6, 2011
By old dude (houston tx usa)
Wear them throw them in the washer. I have large hands but they stretch. My last pair lasted 3 years used every day on the bike and though ratty I still use them in the yard.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  They work, September 27, 2010
By Average Joe (MD USA)
For the price, they are great. Padding is marginal and they run small, like other reviews stated,so go one size larger than you normally would. I use for motorcycle so the padding is no problem for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Poorly manufactured, January 22, 2012
By Pierchi (The Ozark Mountains)
Unlike the other reviews, these gloves were NOT too small, but fit correctly(except the thumb being too long extending past the knuckle). I determined size using the Amazon sizing chart for men (my size men's small). The main problem I had was regarding the stitching overall which was not carefully done. Especially on the velcro on the right hand. It was sewn in a way that it scratches the hand when being worn. Stitching on the finger side of that same velcro was also sketchy, and appeared to already be unravelling.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome Value and Great Look, January 1, 2012
By spider63
I had been trying to get a sand or tan colored pair of weightlifting (fingerless) gloves for years. Seriously, I have checked ebay for years, to get a good deal on nice tan gloves. Everyone has those ugly black gloves, and there are red gloves and a variety of other gloves. Tan is a nice color, and the only time that I ever saw tan gloves, they were either on a military desert camo theme, or else specialty biker gloves. Either way, it seemed that tan bike/weightlifting gloves were usually in the range of $30 or more. I have been going to the gym for years, and those gloves usually get worn out after a year or two, so I never pay more than $10. for these kind of gloves. When I saw these tan gloves on Amazon as I was surfing around, I almost fell off my chair. What an amazing price, less than $10. Even better, when I got them, I discovered that they are very functional and practical. Standard weightlifting gloves. Nice color. Less than $10. How can you beat this deal? The palms even have a Kevlar liner. The tan, black, and off-white fabric combo look very nice. These are the only ones in the gym, and I like them!! Thanks!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good gloves, January 7, 2011

Good gloves, true to size.
Nice padding as well.
Gloves dont bleed the dye like some gloves, which is good because I hate not being able to wipe my face.

These gloves are very comfortable, and do the job. They give my hands that extra cushion that you want on long rides. I would recommend them.

Great gloves, but they do run a size small..... I wear a large, and should have ordered the XL.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good glove for the price..., May 28, 2011
By soldierblue72
I bought these gloves for my wife. She likes the crochet backs for hot weather riding. They are good quality and fit. The palms are leather on the outside and "tricot" on the inside, which is some kind of fabric. All in all, these are nice for the price.
