Simply great., June 17, 2011

I just wanted to upgrade the brake levers that came on my Giant Yukon. These really look good and are very smooth feeling when the brakes are applied. I found for the price that these can't be beat.

High quality lever for cheap price, December 28, 2009
By Brian

I couldn't be happier with these brake levers. Didn't cost much but has really stood up to my abuse. I ride a Raleigh Ram 2.0 full suspension MTB and I jump it more than anything. It's also been down some gnarly trails, and has taken some mean spills. On one crash, the lever bent (just a little), but on a similar crash before, it completely broke my old lever! (don't remember the brand off hand) They have 4 levels of adjustment and feel really solid. I recommend this lever!

Bought these to replace Plastic Levers of Death., September 25, 2011
By Jeffo (Honolulu, HI)

If you have PLOD (Plastic Levers of Death) found on many X-mart bikes, do yourself a favor and replace them with these ASAP!
It is a cheap, but very necessary upgrade to your bike if any part of your brake levers are made of plastic. The plastic levers will easily give out when put under pressure in emergency braking situations, especially if the main housing of your levers are plastic and you are using the tension adjuster on the brake lever to provide adequate braking power. The adjuster on cheap plastic levers are threaded into the weak plastic and will easily strip out when applying heavier braking force, which will mean loss of braking ability, possibly ending up in a crash. Luckily I found this out while not in an emergency braking situation, but in the process of testing the braking ability of some excellent new Kool Stop brake pads. BTW: If you still have your original manufacturer brake pads on, you should also replace those with the awesome Kool Stop ones, while you are changing your levers, you will then be a bike braking beast.

Great Bang, July 16, 2011
By I Buy Stuff (Northern Hemisphere)

Swapped stock levers out for these week after I got the bike and they are far superior in every regard. Light, strong, easy to adjust and much better feel. I previously had these on a MTB with disk brakes and knew they were good. Currently using them with v-brakes. I guess you could get better levers for a lot more money, but for most folks I think this is a more than adequate and very inexpensive solution if your levers are crappy.

Works Great, July 9, 2011
By John Cook (Eau Claire, WI United States)

My son took a spill on his bike and broke one of the original brake levers. This brake lever set is a perfect replacement. His bike was not expensive to start with so I was concerned that these handles would not fit the existing cables. They are a perfect fit for the cables and the handle bars. Solid quality and easy to install.

Great, quick shipping, but couldn't help but laugh as I set to install these brake levers. I was sent two left side levers, not one of each. Either that or Avid's low lower levers are only made one way. I have another set of Avid levers and when installed the adjustment bolts are BOTH on top, for this build one will be on top and the other underneath. Not a huge deal, but is when everything else I do is all about the details. Disappointing, but not so much as to pay for more shipping. Otherwise, nice product.

I use these levers on all my bikes. They are inexpensive and do just what you want
them to do. I ordered them for an extra set. They came on time and in good condition
packaging was great. Give them a try I'm sure you will be pleased. Thier Disc Brakes are
great also.
