I like these shoe covers as heavy socks inside my cycling shoes. I didn't buy them for that, but they work either way.

DeFeet are one of the best cycling shoe covers out there. Cutout for cleat placement is very flexible since you get to pick the postion / size. Easy to wash. Easy to take on/off. Excellent product.
