Daughter Loves It!, June 28, 2008
By Tracy K. Olson
|
|
I bought this for my 5 year old daughter. She was ecstatic! The product itself isn't of great quality...it's a cheap plastic that easily attaches to the bike. However, it's worth it because of the joy it brings my daughter. The neighborhood girls were envious and asked where they could find one.
The downsides: cheap plastic and the straps to hold the baby in are just velcro strips and not easily managed by children (however my daughter has found an easy way to get around that.
The upside: joy in my daughter's world!

Very Flimsly for what it costs, July 20, 2010
By Brendokie (OK)
|
|
This is actually a very cute little seat but it is really very cheap and flimsly. The seat tilts to the side with the doll in it and wiggles around alot. If the girls put any pressure on it when putting the doll in I think it will probably break. I am going to look for something that can connect to it and the bike to give it more stability. Not sure what that would be right now. Also the harness does not actually work like the harness of a real seat with a button/latch to release the restraints. You simply string the velcro straps through slots in a cheap piece of decorated plastic to strap the doll in, so the girls will have to pull the straps completely out of the slots to get the doll in and will then have to be able to thread the end of the strap back through the slots to fasten the doll in. Very disappointed in this for the price. Might be a good buy at $10 or $15 but $25 is way too much. Like others have said, the only saving grace is that it is cute and the girls will love it, while it lasts.

Terrible product, September 16, 2011
By Marylin
|
|
There is no support and once you put the doll in the seat it drops down. We have tried different size dolls but they all do the same. The plastic is too soft. A rag doll holds the best. Do not spend your money on this product. The material they used to make this product is TERRIBLE!

Unhappy shopper, November 30, 2010
By Stacy

I bought this bike seat for my daughter's American Girl doll...She has never been able to use it...I thankfully bought it for NO MORE THAN $15 last Christmas...It certainly is not worth anymore than that, which is what prompted me to write this review (my first review ever)! Buyers beware...This works for plush animals, but definitely NOT DOLLS!

Love this seat!, October 11, 2010
By Houston Mom
|
|
We bought this seat for my daughter 2 years ago. And, while the reviews that say the quality isn't that great, are accurate, it has held up really well. It hardly looks any different today than it did 2 years ago. The plastic bends easily and the baby strap isn't adjustable. But, again, my daughter has had it on her bike, which she rides every day, for a while now and it looks great. We take all kinds of "babies" for rides- American Girl Bitty Baby mostly, but also stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes. She is 6 now and it is still the one thing her friends request most often for her to give them as their birthday present.

Seat is very week, dolls head snaps side to side while riding because the seat move and flexes so much. I supported the seat with 3/16 solid rod down to the training wheel bolts and seams to be great. The kids love this for there american girl dolls.

great idea, very realistic, January 26, 2010
By R. Sass (Folsom, CA)

|
My child loves this toy. It was easy to install, my husband had it on her 12 inch bike within minutes. Other reviews had mentioned that the seat will move around, we have not had that problem. The box indicates that the toy is for 18 inch dolls, but 14 inch dolls work completly fine. The only improvement would have been if it came with a bike helment for the doll.

fun seat for dolly!, April 16, 2008
By K. Kelly (MN)
|
|
I bought this for my daughter for her 3rd birthday.
She loves it! The only problem so far is that the plastic
pieces you attach it to the bike with don't tighten enough to keep
it in one place. The seat tends to move to the side very easily if
bumped. I recommend this fun accessory!

my toddler loves it, easily installed, more durable than it looks, November 7, 2011
By Mark (central Va)
|
|
I'd read reviews on here about it is more durable than it looks and that is true. My daughter carries anything from 6" stuffed frogs to full sized Build a Bear animals to Baby Alive dolls to, well hopefully you get the idea. They all fit just as snuggly, and she straps them in just as easily. As with all younger kids toys it gets put through the paces of being grabbed, pulled, dropped, knocked over, etc and it has shown no signs of wear or damage.
My 3 year old loves carrying her dolls or animals on her bike, has an easy time putting them into the velcro straps, it stays in place unlike some had complained about in other reviews and unlike the baby seat that comes on some bikes I can install it on my bike when she is riding in the Wee Ride seat on my bike.
If you want an inexpensive, simple to install, lightweight, easy for your child to use addition to your childs bike this is well worth the money.

Perfect for what it is used for!, January 10, 2011
By jnh

|
My daughter is 4 and this is the main thing she wanted this year for Christmas and she is completely pleased! she is still learning how to ride her bike and isn't stable yet so she falls and when she does the seat nor her doll hit the ground....which makes me happy too because the doll she puts on their is an American Girl doll so it was not cheap....but it does not get messed up because the seat is very sturdy and stays in place.

When my granddaughter saw a new bicycle with a dolly seat attached, I went searching Amazon and found "Dolly Come Ride With Me Doll's Bicycle Seat". I didn't have to buy a new bike!! But I did have to buy 2 of them; with 2 little girls one always wants what the other has. It attaches easily, but seems a little flimsy. I hope it lasts a while.

This item is so cute and so much fun for my 6 year old. We have had cars stop to ask where I purchased the baby seat. The only complaint would be that it is a little flimsy but we have had several bike wrecks and it has held up perfectly

Cheap not worth the money, July 21, 2010

This toy cost almost as much as the bike did. It lasted a whole 2 days and broke. It is the cheapest piece of plastic I have ever seen. It could not even hold the weight of the doll. I Would not recommend this product for the amount of money it cost. I would pay $5.00 at the most for this product if I was to purchase it again.

Take Anyone Along, September 28, 2008
By Mom of 2 girls (Dublin, OH)
|
|
We had a small bicycle that came with a dolly seat, and were very sad once my daughters outgrew it. I was pleased to find the Dolly Come Ride with Me attachment. It is super easy to put on. If the bike seat is down really far, you may need to remove the reflector to fit it on. The nice thing is that dolls, animals, ect of about any size sit nicely in the seat. My daughters are 7 and 9 and still use theirs!

Purchased this seat in December for a Christmas gift and the straps were missing. Contacted the host twice and still have not received the straps!
I'm not sure how the doll is supposed to stay in the seat without them.

I bought this for my daughter for her 4th birthday. She had just gotten a new bike and wanted to be able to take her baby with her. The bikes in her size dont have the Doll Carrier available so I had to go this route. I loved the idea of it, however when my daughter started using it, I noticed how unstable it was. This seat didn't even last 2 months of regular use. It started to warp to the side with all the weight from the baby, so much the babys hand was almost touching the back wheel. My daughter was so upset when we had to take it off.

Disappointed, August 6, 2011
By michael joesten

I bought this for my daughter's 9th birthday to go along with her new bicycle. Unfortunately, when she opened it, the main piece that connects the straps was missing. She was very disappointed that she could not use it. I was very disappointed because I had wasted money having it express shipped. I don't think I'll risk ordering another one and throwing away money on shipping something defective only to have to turn around and return it.

Fun but not well made, August 6, 2011
By Bournemama

My girls love these bike seats for their AG dolls, but like many of the other reviewers I found them to be not well made. Not sure that the bike seat will last the summer. Okay item if you go in with low expectations of quality, but most importantly, the girls are happy to be able to take their dolls for a bike ride.

My Daughter really likes it!!, November 9, 2010
By Wine Girl (Underwood, Wa.)
|
|
As a gift for my daughter, she really likes being able to take her baby with her everywhere. It was easy to put together & hook to her bike. The one thing she did mention was how her baby wobble's side to side when she rides. But the baby is so velcro'd in that he has not fallen off once!!!
Now I just need to add a mirror to her handle bars so she can see her baby as she rides while still watching where she is going (almost had an accident while she was checking her baby out!)

Not worth the money!!!, July 19, 2010
By Katie
|
|
I feel like I paid way to much for the quality of this doll seat. When you take it out of the box, you immediately think is this really it? It's so flimsy and cheap, that my 6 year old hardly has a doll light enough to put in it, which means her favorite baby can't ride in it. Also, if she jerks her bike a little hard while she's riding, the bike seat literally just detaches from the screws that hold it on the bar that connects to the bike. I just feel like it should've been more in the $[...] dollar range and not the $[..]dollar range like it is on here. Way too cheaply made.

My daughter is happy, what more can I ask for., June 27, 2010
By Alissa Frederick (Federal Way, Washington USA)
|
|
My daughter received this for her birthday and we immediately attached it to her bike and she immediately put her new baby-doll in to go for a ride. We have used it for 1 week.
Pros: 1. Good at securing toys in the seat.
2. Easy to install
3. Daughter loves it
Cons: 1. It does feel like flimsy plastic, but I think it will hold up.
2. slides around a bit, I am planning on getting some rubber sizers to attach it more securely. When my daughter whips around the corner, sometimes the seat slides to the side
3. Easy for kids to kick it when dismounting, it is very close to the seat.
All-in-all, I think this is a wonderful item for a child who wants to take their toys with them, but it won't fit in a basket, or they want to treat it like a real baby.

Looks good in the picture, bought for granddaughter she was very happy at first then after we got it on bike and she took her doll for a ride she was not happy, neither was i. when doll is in seat it bounces and wiggles off to the side. needs a stronger support arm that just cheap plastic. went to hardware store and found a way to stableize the seat. so the price of doll seat just went up. granddaughter is now happier. i am giving threefive stars for educationalfun just for granddaughter.

Would buy again, December 25, 2009
By E. Bourgeois

I purchased two of these for my daughters for Christmas. Today was the first day of use...so, I can't say much on how long they'll last. But, they were easy to install. I had remove the rear reflector on the one bike that had one in order to attach the doll seat. If the bike seat is higher, you could probably fit both.
While I don't think they'll be able to stand much of a beating (but, they're plastic, so I didn't expect much), they are very cute and the girls LOVE them.

My 4 year old loves this! She is always choosing a new doll/stuffed animal to ride with her. She did have to learn to get on and off her bike from the front so her legs did not get "stuck" on the doll seat, but other than that, it's a perfect gift for a little girl.

My daughter has had to get used to dismounting the bike in a different manner. Swinging her leg over the back wheel and bike seat as she used to rotates the doll seat itself and knocks the baby out. This is only a minor drawback. She has loved carrying her baby with her on bike rides.
